I am lucky to watch live JUGALBUNDI of Sitar by Pt.Ravi Shankar & Ustad Ali Akbar Khan on Sarod and accompanied on Tabla by Ustad Allarakhha Khan,may be in 1964-1965, at a Music Conference in Rampur,, arranged initially by Nawab of Rampur and later on by Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The moderator must be adequately knowledgeable in the discipline whose expert he chooses to interview. Otherwise, as here, it will be a well-below-par interview and the priceless opportunity of getting the maestro to speak in-depth will have been squandered.
How beautiful and magnanimous people become with music in life. No man made god or religion can confine them or their music from spreading like wildfire. This is the rich and unparalleled cultural heterogeneity of the subcontinent.
Thanks for putting this up . It is such a tragedy that the maestro did not get the response in his own country and had to shift base abroad.
