Andrew Boyer Speedrunners should know their game better than this guy does. It's not like it's even a reflex-intensive game, he can pause for a second or two and think if needs be. There are plenty of speedruns of strategy-type games where the runners have much better game sense for their environment, and know what all the items do. But instead he makes the same stupid mistakes multiple times. "More haste, less speed". Not that I think I could do as good of a job, but that's literally _only_ because the timing on those sandwiches looks like a nightmare.
Maybe these games are bad for speedrunning, but are fantastic as regular games if you're into GX era YuGiOh. From TG1 to TG3, they kept improving many things, and I believe TG3 is definitely one of if not the best YuGiOh experience you can get in terms of video games.
When mergy asked the commentator "what's an estimate" I believe the commentator replys, "Idk what game that is" wow!!! Mergy called him out cause the commentator was throwing shade throughout the video and could barely speak English.
The giant trunade is limited in the game because the games follow the competitive banlist of the current time of the release of the game, if im not mistaken
ESA soo much better then SGDQ and AGDQ just found out about it recently by looking up Yugioh speedruns and saw Mergy running them. Didnt know who he was before but now i really enjoy him and ESA.
The AI got fucked when they bought out Ultimate Tyranno and entered the Battle Phase. UT's effect is mandatory which means the AI had to suicide UT when it got hit by the Kazejin's negate attack / attack reduction effect. Also, why didn't Mergy equip Fairy Meteor Crush to UT when he had the chance? That would have ended the game without a loop.
He could have won the first Tag Duel with the Paradox Brother by using Creature Swap on Gilasaurus, attack Spear Cretin, then activate Share the Pain in Main Phase 2 to destroy Ultimate Tyranno.
I bought this game back in 2006 when it came out when i was a kid... had it 4 years, accumulating dust. and exchanged it with some kid for a ben 10 game, best decision i've done ever. Altough i still enjot yugioh as a whole
first time i see real yugioh fans being live so happy in this rare times, were children usually go acting like adults, and adults cheer like the hype is unreal.

Tony Tone We're talking about HIM, not his partner. He makes really basic mistakes throughout the entire run like not attacking with monsters, attacking/playing cards in the wrong order, wasting cards and turns, reading cards incorrectly, miscalculating, some deckbuilding mistakes, etc.
as a guy whos played yugiog since the start and loves the psp this guy doesnt know what hes talking about, i respect speed gamers cuz i cant do that shit even if i tried but sometimes they really talk alot of trash lol
It's RNG because character locations and events are RNG dependant, the eggwich is huge RNG, new cards are RNG, and each player has a small chance of opening a garbage hand or an amazing one. The starting deck is actually fine, and has some REALLY decent options in it, once you take out the few legitimately awful cards.
