Respect for the fact that this is exactly how people should title their videos to avoid being accused of clickbait! The commentary taught me a lot that I never knew before so thank you for that.
I am a newbie just getting started at 64... Just wanted to let you know the information I got from your video is so valuable to me and I am so thankful you posted this. Also subscribed again thanks for posting.....🔥🔨
I have no idea why I didn't see this video when it came out. Good video Ethan. Have worked with Brian on many occasions now. He is magician willing to share the magic of steel with anyone willing to listen.
Good job! How ever I must interject as a farrier our rounding hammers are anywhere from 1 3/4 lbs to 2 1/2 lbs. And have longer hafts. Generally speaking lighter than 2 lbs came in after the popularity of keg shoes. Great content though keep it up!
Really informative! I learned a lot. I haven't begun any blacksmithing yet, but increasing my understanding of how everything works, and should work, will hopefully help a lot! Though I know there will be much to learn once I really get started! Great video, Ethan
All your hammers you made were awesome. After seeing you make them, I rather buy one from you than Alec. Keep up the great work and never loose your passion. Stay safe.
Ethan, when forging a rounding hammer, is it very important to forge the face before grinding? I have seen people simply grind a round face, but my impression was the compression of steel molecules during forging made the face stronger. Is it only a function of steel type and tempering, and not actual forging? Ahhhh you just talked about work hardening, so it may be a moot point. Thanks.
that was a very influential video glad to see that great video for a beginner blacksmith or even a aged smith thank you so much for this video helpfully video keep up the beautiful craftsmanship and work forge on my friend

Didn’t he make the hammers Alec is selling?

You mentioned a distinction between the circle and square-circle dyes. Can you elaborate on the differences in use?
Well done and very interesting
