This would be a fantastic place for a 2kw diesel heater ! Great project ! Keep up the good work

Wow, great idea and job! What I like are the tools you use! It look like you do not have big shop with all the professional tools and machines, but still managed to do very professional job! Great inspiration for me.

Thanks, you're right- I don't have a workshop or a garage so it can be a bit tricky, but it's all good fun!

Most of that gap is from the bolt and hinge plates. Cut the Hinge so that door side is short (or use t-strap hinges). Inset the hinge on the door. Inset it at the fully closed depth so that it sits on the seat/bracket face. Grind down the bolt head, or use a different type, carriage, connector, or cap bolt, or drill a clearance hole for the bolt head.
TBH I thought the holes in the seat were threaded so i was confused on why you needed a nut.

Wow... I wish I had your skills and specs here in Colorado. Beautiful job... my NV200 has a serious case of envy.

Nice idea James. On mine the cooker unit restricts access to that area however, what I did do was attach a carpet covered board as you did but simply attached it to the framework of the seat with velcro. I store stuff in there which I dont need very often, such as hi-viz jacket, locking wheel nuts etc and then access the space simply by moving the drivers seat forward. Either way is good and as you say, it makes good use of the storage space there.

Thanks, velcro's a great idea and much quicker to do too!

Great use of available space, but I would have considered a deisel heater in that location.

It gets very cold here in the UK. Sub zero if you want to spend a night in the van over winter. A Chinese diesel heater can still work even though the vehicle is petrol. It comes with a low profile 5 litre diesel container. It's not overkill if you intend staying in the van during Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Thanks, though I don't have any plans for a diesel heater. Have just got back from a camping trip and it was very warm with an extra blanket. I don't stay in the van over winter either, so I couldn't justify the cost or work involved installing one.

Fantastic skills James just wondered why you do not opt for birchply or similar

Hi Michael, thanks! As much as I love plywood (I made my bed drawer out of some scraps I got!), I can source the pineboard cheaply and easily and I really like the look of it.
