Hey guys, today we are going to look at a strange rock cutting technology at this 1000-year-old Temple called Preah Vihear in Cambodia. I am very excited to show you this because this rock cutting technique is completely mindboggling, and I believe you have never seen this before, in any other ancient site. Look at the ceiling of this hallway, look at the shape of this ceiling, it is an arch, in architecture, we call this a vault. But something is very strange about these rocks, pay attention to the top most pieces of this ceiling. This is extraordinary, because these are actual arch shaped stone blocks made of solid sandstone. Ancient builders have actually taken solid sandstone blocks and converted them into curved arches. The top blocks are known as Keystones and the keystones of this hallway have been bent like pieces of rubber. If we horizontally tilt this picture, you can see how curved these arches are, the degree of curve is just incredible.
But is this really unique? Throughout most ancient civilizations, arches have been used, in fact, Romans used arches more than 2000 years ago, but you are in for a surprise. Let us look at this underground tunnel recently found in Scotland, this was built 300 years after this temple, and at first glance, you think this is a good archway, but look at the top most blocks. There is not one keystone, but two of them, and the blocks are not curved, the builders have merely tried to give an appearance of an arch, these are 2 rectangular blocks with very little curves. Here is the ancient Olympic stadium in Greece, and look at this arch, again it looks like a nice curved arch, but when you zoom in, you realize that the blocks are actually just rectangular blocks and are merely arranged to give you the appearance of an arch. I have looked at many many examples of arches and vaults in ancient and medieval Europe and I am surprised that no true arches exist in Megalithic structures, meaning none of the top most blocks are actually curved as arches. But here, in this remote part of Cambodia, we see how ancient Hindus have bent rocks and created true arches.
Forget ancient times, what about today, do we create true arches, today? This is an ancient vault in Greece, and the top blocks have fallen and have been repaired with new stone blocks, but again look, even the new blocks are actually rectangular blocks with very little curve. Why? Why is it such a problem to create arches, or curves in stone?
Did ancient builders soften stone and create these perfect arches? If so, how did they convert hard sandstone into soft material? Hindus believe that rocks were softened using herbs, then cut into desired shapes, and the blocks became hardened again, after some time. People think of this as a strange theory, but think about this right? How do seeds grow on solid rock? Every once in a while, you will see the smallest seed beginning to gain roots on even the hardest rock. How is this possible? Because herbs and even seeds have natural acids like oxalic acid, which are quite strong. And they can soften even the hardest rocks, this is why you see seeds taking root and eventually demolishing even the largest stone structures. Ancient Cambodians must have definitely used some kind of herbs or acids to soften these stones. Otherwise making hundreds of identical stone arches is impossible.
But this is not just a guess, there is actual evidence of acid treatment. Look at the corner stone of the ceiling, this is shocking, because this gigantic block has completely turned black, as though it was treated with some kind of acid or chemical. Look at the surface of this rock, it is full of ridges, as though it was damaged with some chemical, which has burnt the surface. Ancient builders definitely used herbs or some type of chemicals to soften stones. When I scrape on these sandstone blocks, I realize that their natural hardness has been altered.

There are some who don't want us, the people, to know and understand our true history. When we know our true history, we will begin to question and want to understand our purpose in life.. those in power do not want us to raise our consciousness or pursue spiritual matters. They want us locked in the cycle of greed, chasing money. When we only care about money, we are the slaves of those in power. This knowledge is so empowering, that the logical conclusion of learning more about it is that we will want to then learn more about ourselves and the purpose of life.

It's possible to cut an arch if you have a small cutting device or you can cut straight lines and then shave off the rest and polish it . Sandstone is pretty easy to shape depending on the type of sandstone and what's being used to cut it . Had this been granite or another kind of hard stone cut into arches that would be interesting to see .As far as the black marks on the upper stones ,that could be soot from a torch .
What I find interesting is the irregular cuts on the other stone blocks that are very similar to the stones in Egypt or in other ancient ruins around the world . Why use irregular shapes for a wall instead of using squares or rectangles for the walls ? My personal belief is that they used this design to strengthen the structure in case of earthquakes .

"Sound, the English word Sound doesnt really describe what we call as "NAADA" नाद .. In Sanskrit Sound is called "Dhwani" while Naada is different, Naada is the ultimate form of Physical, in this world the form which can be said as the LAST FORM OF PHYSICAL is NAADA. After Naada it becomes Non-Physical.. All the Mantras and Practices done In Hindu Culture are an attempt to access something beyond the Limitations of Time and Space.. That's the reason why Naada is given so much Importance in form of Chanting and the Sanskrit Mantras are pronounced in a certain way its very difficult to explain but a normal person can read same Mantra in different way an when a Brahmin recites that it will sound completely different because that is the way Energy generates.
Why Kaala and Naada are connected?
All that is Physical is Bound by TIME it has a beginning and Expiry date, but what if something is beyond Kaala then its ETERNAL.. Shashwat what we call it as..
Naada is transcennding Boundary between Physical and Non Physical, thats the reason why the Yogis and Builders took so much efforts to create these spaces because the Rishis or the Monks could make use of this to Access A Dimension beyond KAALA or Time and perceive that which is in MAHAKALA the Greatest Time which is Beyond the Physical and Limitations of Time and Space... Once you transcend Physical there is No Time as there is no Time there is no Space either...
This is MOKSHA, MUKTI, ULTIMATE LIBERATION that Every Spiritual Seeker in Hinduism is aspiring for he wants to go beyond his Body and Mind which are limitations for him.

As a machinist, this is how I would make these curved features. The square block is set on the ground. The machining set up is very similar to what you refer to as an ancient lathe in another video. We are going to use a flycutter on a spinning horizontal shaft to create this radius. Imagine an old grandfather clock, with the swinging arm. The swinging arm is like the flycutter. The stone block is directly below the swinging arm. A harder material than the stone being cut is fixed to the very tip of the swinging arm as the cutting tool. Because of the large radius, the correct speed in which the cutting tool is swept across the stone would be rather slow, and achievable by human power. The cutting tool would make a full 360 degree rotation to carry momentum. The tip of the cutter would be lowered to the surface of the stone, then they would get it swinging in rotation. They would have the cutter just off the edge of the stone, and would lower it slightly. Then they would slide or "feed" the stone into the cutter in a straight direction. When they cleared the stone on the first pass, they would lower the cutter a small amount more, and feed the stone under it again. With each pass, the radius would become more visible. The exact radius they want to cut is set by the distance from the tip of the cutter, to the center on which it rotates. In order to make a 4 ft radius, the cutter arm would be 2 ft long. They could have done the same thing with the cutter spinning in the direction like a helicopter blade, which would machine the radius into the side of a block instead of on the top of it. The advantage of this set up is that they don't have to fight gravity in order to get the flycutter spinning. But, in the other setup, when the flycutter is is a vertical rotation, the cutting action happens on the down swing, and gravity assists the force needed for cutting. If the flycutting arm were heavy, just the force of it dropping would remove material. You can't cut a few thousands off a stone with a saw, but the flycutter can, therefore you aren't forced to take heavy cuts. A heavy flycutter only skimming the surface of the stone would cut like butter. The tool geometry of the cutter is very very simple, I make these by hand out of tool steel. They don't look like fancy blades, or saws, and they don't have any teeth. Just a square tip, with the sides cut or ground at very slight angles is exactly what we'd use today. Thank you Praveen for showing us this amazing place.

When using this 'highway', I believe you go past time barriers and can travel through time. And you can receive spirits through this 'highway' too. It's like a 'time road'. A road to go on another 'astral plane'. I did some past life regression, and I totally believe ancient peiple had way more knowledge about this than we do today. We are being kept away from this. Invert the long hallway, 180° and it becomes a wonderful aqueduct design. Then the doors lead to the right to the light.
The water will then flow out of that keyhole to the outside world which looks heavenly from that view.
The people who were carving this hallway, thought they were exiting to the left ironically.
Noticed that the light comes from the left.
And of course, all the sound resonating through that hallway would reflect back from the door made out of stone.
So when the water would come out, they would be no sound left. It would all be reflected back.

it’s most definitely plausible, however you still need to saw down the block. also your method, you’re making the curve arch as thin thickness whereas the ancient stones are one long thick block. for cutting the stones, i think instead of using a straight up blade saw to cut the stones curve, they may have used a curved upright blade that allows you to turn the blade easily in curve motion with added water/greases to ease the friction...they may even be using robe wires to do that. they can then painstakingly shave off the long slab of stones by pulling the saw at both end.
also as you mentioned, they may have a solution to softening the block ie herb. this is most fascinating! love your program.

Fascinating images my frend. The ancients used sound devices that could emit any type of frequency in order to change the frequency of the stone (no matter what type of stone), turning it to putty. We see this stone melting tech not only in the antedeluvian civilizations, but also in our cycle as well up until the reset of 6000 years ago when the great biblical flood happened. This is a technology that we inherited from the giants and the giants' giants.
There are usually two different technologies that are seen in ancient stone melting buildings (as far as i know):
    1. Stone casting on site: they made the casts on the construction site and placed the stones one layer at a time, then they used the sound device to melt the stones until they fused, they placed the stone or metal braces between the stones to anchor them together and finally they let the stones return to their original frequency. Then they added a second layer and repeated the process until the entire wall was built. Ceilings and arches were made with huge wooden or metallic casts, just like we do today to pour concrete.
    2. Off-site stone casting and modular assembly on site: In more recent civilizations we see another technology - the hole and notch assembly. Stones were cast into shapes using sound frequency devices then they were moved on the construction site and assembled by fitting the holes into the notches (like LEGO blocks). We see this in many hindu temples and mayan architecture. They used this fitting technology as it was much more resistant to seismic activity than other older stone melting techniques. This also implies that they had very advanced cranes and transportation devices for the giant stone blocks, in order to assemble them piece by piece on site.
The intricate reliefs we see on ancient hindu temples were also made by casting stones in a horizontal cast. As the stone softened it naturally filled the shape of the cast. We know from ancient drill holes that they also had very advanced electrical tools in order to sculpt the original material the cast was made after.
In ancient times this branch of architecture was called "mechanical arts". The science of creating beautiful and functional buildings for the good of humanity. I wish we could return to their principles and start making beautiful durable things once more...

Cos of colonial mindset that tries to hate on anything Hindu related even though they were the ones who went so crazy when Persians blocked trade of our goods and our knowledge to Europe that they went on a mad chase for India via sea routes. One idiot thought he found India when he went to America. Pretty funny. The Dutch, the Portuguese found us but they didn't colonise much. They controlled very small amount of land. Then, British came. The missionaries were hellbent on converting Hindus and so they sanctioned a lot of "studies" that ridiculed anything Hindu and Indian. They demolished and took control of our temples which were also small primary schools basically. We had the best and most robust education system the world had ever seen. There's a reason why so many Chinese, Greek and Persian scholars would come to our ancient universities (which were eventually destroyed by Islamic invasions). Also, education was always free and available to everyone. Only in universities, you had to have a certain level of intellect to get in but it was all free, even for foreign scholars. That must have been such a brilliant time to live.
I'm always amazed by our massive, extensive libraries of ancient Indian texts and literature. It's wayyyy too vast especially when you consider that most of our texts and literature was burnt by islamic invaders when they demolished and burnt all our universities.

In another video, you'd mentioned the possibility of the ancients discovering cement and concrete, as some of the stones Seng m seem to have been moulded, like the single corner pieces without joints, the big block of steps, etc. Could this be the way they made those arches?

There are many ways to cut curves "easily". If you're using a saw, just like cutting tiles, you can mark the curve and then make successive cuts every 1/8", to the depth of the arch, and then knock out the remaining stone bits with a chisel. Or, using a draw blade or a bent gouge/bowl blade. Or, even just by rubbing round stones to wear it down/shape into a curve.

You should know although ancients cut stone mostly in brick form or wedged shape... There are those that learned of grinding stones to carve softer stone / and acid carved (usually changes the surface colors) by soaking a stone the acid eats at the stones sponge like surface.... beyond that there are ways to melt stone. A good volcanic vent directed right and stone becomes softer (also look friction saws.) Beyond this remember erosion eats at fine details and morter too. In some areas they shaped rock smooth by using river rock or rock set into a water carving system ( water can cut steal ,stone is softer...( the shape was probably used like gravity glue or the flying butruses on older churches.

Most of his videos I can't dispute the fact that we are missing something from the past occuring.
But this one to me seems like he's making more of what it really is. If the builders were as skilled as it seems to build such a structure then it would stand to reason that they would be able to shape rocks to form curves from blocks with tools and skills of the time.
Sometimes we dont give ancient builders the credit due when it comes to building structures.

Brilliant Praveen. I love your work brother..... One theory I have tossed around about how the arches were made, is this... What if the Ancient Builders created stone "donuts" if you will, and then cut the donuts in half down their sides? You would be left with two halves, that look like arches.... We know that the Ancient Builders had technology to be able to make perfect circular shafts through the ground to create air shafts for underground cities and in temples and pyramids..... They use this tech to create a hole in the center of a boulder.... Then carve the outside curve to match the internal... then make a straight cut 180 degrees from each other down the body of the donut..... Likewise, if the arches look like one third of a circular donut, then they made 3 straight cuts down the body of the donut, giving you 3 arch pieces that equate 1/3 of a circles circumference...

  • @Luke-bs3qz
    @Luke-bs3qz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +40

smooth circular stones, I know help the airflow through the building like the building is alive and you can feel the difference between square and circular building structures, maybe sound travels down these paths easily aswell?

    • @AnujAgrawal08
      @AnujAgrawal08 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

wow, never thought about it this way. Circular boundaries can definitely help sound travel a longer distance, sort of how light passes through an optic cable. Reflection pattern and the emerging standing waves patterns would be very different from rectangular structures I guess.

that they had some type of machine that could cut blocks like a knife thru butter.
