Laptop compartment does have a false bottom. Stops a solid inch before the bottom and has a stiff piece of something keeping the bottom from touching.

Thank you. That would have been a hard pass.

Nice vid and appreciate what you all do. I have the Outbreaker laptop backpack and think I prefer that to this (in fact it maybe my favorite overall travel backpack). This new lineup moved away from the (maybe overdone) organization that set Tortuga apart from others. As a daily carry it seems okay but expensive. I think I'm just disappointed as the Outbreaker lineup was one of my favorites and was looking forward to this lineup but it's been "meh" for me.

Agreed. Personally, I think this new line looks terrible aesthetically when compared to the previous versions of the Outbreaker lineup. It feels like Tortuga is trying to move into the same everyday/outdoors space as companies like Bellroy and their Venture lineup. Though, Bellroy has nailed their anesthetics with this new line of products.

In case you are not using the sternum strap you can put it under the little elastic thingies on the shoulder straps so it's not dangling around

I'm surprised the laptop compartment doesn't have a false bottom, given the bag is tall enough to support one.

I just got it, she's wrong, there's a false bottom for both, but there's also a stiff piece that comes down that I bet she mistook for the laptop, but actually helps ensure it doesn't touch. I just got it today and promptly popped my MacBook 16 in there to check because I'd return it if it didn't, saw conflicting information.

Great review. What products are the tech cube and packing cubes? I'm looking for something just like those!

Hey Scott, the tech pouch is the Aer Split Kit, and those are the Heimplanet Packing Cubes.

    What size laptop will fit?

That luggage pass through seems sorta wimpy.

Feels better than described, have a hard time imagining it stretching out that fast, but yeah I'm not sure how it'd hold up in regular use. I will only use that a few times a year so I have no concerns based on how it feels.
