Feed The Animals, too!!
this is needed on spotify so badly
Alternatively you could always just stop using a garbage platform that robs artists and support them directly
Unfortunately it can't be because it's all unlicensed samples.
@@ramayana7999 don't think that's the reason. Rest assured he hasn't paid a single penny for "feed the animals".
It partly has to do with copyright restrictions and purely due to the fact that Apple Music will not distribute any songs or samples that have not been granted permission by the original composer, or artist, which is usually the record company, which good luck in trying to get licensing for that better yet this is an hour long Album in total, it would take a good minute to get all the licenses for all those songs, and I guarantee you what would cost a pretty penny
@@Itachisclone420i often wonder who the big holdout was for this album. i thought maybe jay z for empire state of mind, but jay is on feed the animals too multiple times and that’s on streaming
It’s 2023 and this song still goes HARD. It reminds my brain what dopamine is

You’d think hearing mashup tracks all day every day on the internet would dilute its potency, but it actually reveals how well crafted this project is.
@@jackstrawful I highly recommend White Panda if you haven't heard of him. He also makes some amazing mash ups
it's been... 11 years since this came out. i want another one :(

Joe Johns yeah was wondering if this was the right one... frankly i find this very corny
Lone Wulf I quite like it tbf. But I couldn't listen to it as many times as they have
Joe Johns
yeah i agree with their idea of training yourself to react in a certain way to some music but i used to do that to more journey music... like i used to do that to a brooklyn bounce album and gary moore album and all of tiestos mix compilations... or i used to workout to the same motivation clips that were themselves set to some epic music... you will not find me functioning and being productive on very busy music
Oh yeah I'm the same. I prefer slower stuff when I'm thinking about things. Much like them I don't like having lyrics
Yup me too. It's not on spotify :( feed the animals is awesome to.
No one, in my opinion, is even half as good as Gregg here. Bring this guy back. He was onto becoming a iconic legend... Feed the Animals was like hitting a triple in baseball for the first time. Then once he realized he could smash the ball, he hit a grand slam with ALL DAY and disappeared... Killing me bro. I listen to this once a week at this point and it's 2022.
2023 is past halfway over and I'm still listening weekly.
Unfortunately this stuff is extremely time consuming and doesn’t pay the bills. Last I checked he’s been making his bones as a producer, after gaining some notoriety for these albums. Good for him for grabbing that bag.
Super mash bros and speaky are good too
Killed it and left us all wanting more.

@@kolotripitha69 my SO just got it about a month ago, been sprinkling it on her for five years now ^~^
I saw him on this tour in Houston (or Austin we did lots of drugs) and didn't appreciate it for what it was at the time. As a naïve 20 something I thought, "cool...a guy playing a MacBook". My ex had a good taste in music, and I'm glad I got that experience even though it's over ten years later and I appreciate it now.
Holy shit Grey is a thug.

@@CarBombChris Too quiet!
There was a lot of good mash-up in this era.
I wish I had my old hard drive.
This album is nothing short of stupendous. The staying power it's had for me over the last few years is unparalleled by any other album I've listened to. Whenever I don't know what to listen to, I put on this. Whenever I'm having a hard day and need me a pick-me-up, I put on this. Whenever I'm having an incredible day and wanna keep the good vibes, I put on this. Girl Talk is one of the best producers I've ever found. His ear for sounds, rhythms, melodies, and flow in music is something I will never forget for all my days.
Sometimes I just want the current mashup to keep playing forever and am bummed when it cuts off. But then the next great mashup is presented and all I want is for that to continue forever.
Yeah, the beginning War Pigs/ Get Out The Way and Tenderness/ Can I Get A is where I like to park my ears. :)
That exactly resume how i feel when listening to this. I wish the whole thing would last forever!
This is truly a masterpiece. But at 33:57 it absolutely peaks 🎉
There's a lot of peaks but yeah very good bit. What kind of brain can hear these songs and think yeah they go together well
The John Lennon part is amazing too!
Gregg Michael Gillis is a KING. We miss you Brother. Your mash ups changed my life. PLEASE....BRING THAT BEAT BACK 🙏
This is possibly a magnum opus - the more I try to recreate what he did the more I realize how impressive this album is i.e finding clean acapellas, picking classic or noteable samples, and mastering it perfectly.
I tried to do what he did. I listened to tons of artists inspired by him. It’s so difficult. A monumental investment of time is required to find mashups that don’t just match BPM’s and key (that is easy and DJ’s pretend it’s not).
It’s a balancing act - between recognizing iconic (but not overused) samples that fit just enough.
It has to be obvious it IS a mashup. If they are too similar, casual listeners might mistake it as a normal song. Gillis is my idol, and my life dream is a new album from him. Even a CDQ rip of his live shows as of late. I wouldn’t be half as optimistic when it comes to music, movies, art, etc, if it weren’t for Girl Talk and his omnivorous appetite for great music of all kinds
Girl Talk forever
So dope that he been prod. for bunch of rappers lately tho🔥🔥

+Nitay A. Why, have you listened to it? I think it fits. I listened to it before and was just surprised in a "Oh him too?" kind of way, not in a way I wouldn't expect him to listen to it.
Clinton Herndon Well, taste in music doesn't have too much to do with a person's personality, but it just feel weird to imagine Gray and Myke listen to this, not to insult the album. Though Grey did say he use this only functionally and doesn't find it good or bad.

Poeple say Mashup. "Don't call it a Mashup I been here for years." 😉😎 Mashup is too simple a descriptor. Gregg Gillis creates Aristotelean narratives yo. That he hints the next song before he mixes it, picks the best parts of songs, mixes multiple songs to other songs in one song etc... The breadth of musical knowledge to put so many disparate bands into one song/album is nearly obscene. 🤣 Still giving me chills. Still noticing new things after years of listening to these albums. Bonus Pittsburgh native n'at. Bonus²: party playlist in a bottle.
Agreed 👍
I loved working out with this in the gym before covid! Gave me the energy I needed!
Most "mashup" djs don't get 75k per show. Plus it was like 5yrs ago that I looked that up.... bonusbonus² this album makes pussies wet when played at loud volume.
Yes!
its amazing and he does an amazing job but its still a mashup brother
NIN and "In Your Eyes" was next level brilliant. I can not hearveither of those the same way anymore.
Just marking another complete playthrough of this album. Would be excellent to hear a new version of the last decade of music!
Checking in here after his Asheville show in April, which had been postponed for two years. Absolutely legendary performance. My boy got up there and THREW DOWN for almost two hours. It was incredible. And this album is equally incredible. Legendary status.
So jealous, that would be such a good concert!

This is like listening to all music at the same time.
I have been listening to this for 5 days straight. I memorize music, going through patterns in my head. I shared this track at least 4 times with my radio listening friends. I dance and flow.
I... thought I was going crazy. I listened to it the same again, I thought... kinda. No... it was different. Not wrong. And I was remembering where I was the night before during the conversation when I was listening through.
"This isn't the same. (I tell myself and also "maybe you were talking through it. No one else is mentioning it's different. Keep your mouth shut unless you're imaging things. Arguing imagining things makes you crazy*)
Today. I scroll down. I read the description. I know how I found my way here, searching. I'm just happy to be here.
This is William Shaking Spheres changing the perspectives.
He's phony, she's fake. The type of people I hate. My favorite selection... I hope it doesn't change before I can define it properly. It starts around 19:16 (&t=1150) because I want more than just the rapping and the xylo sounds and feels. My absolute favorite progression starts because of the xylo progression and hits (&t=1193). There is nothing I would change and it's still progressing until 22:15 with some parts I'd change (because those seconds are part of my favorite) and then it keeps flowing because THIS BEAT THIS BEAT I need it in this with the disco stick is the end of which ends it 23:30.
I feel special, I feel heard. I flow deeply. I would stop talking every time to feel the headspace created.
The entire hour isn't enough. I need three. I stack this in my full listening and start it, my flow all over again.
I am proud to comment on the internet. I don't fucking care how long it is. If you want a TL:DNR, revive me. This fucking experience killed me. And it brought me to life all over again.
