The Bad
-Average PCVR headset
-Data rate capped at 2.5Gbps (burry/compressed image sometimes)
-Oculus discontinues replacement parts after a few years

-Resident Evil 4 VR exclusive
-Low spec. Good for low end systems

The 30mm on the Apache has always seemed horrendiously inaccurate.
yeah it always felt like gaijin saw one youtube video of an apache gunning down al-qaeda militants and went "make it look like that" and did no further research
It's actually on purpose. The main focus of the 30mm is to take out lightly armored targets and personnel.
They nerfed the shit out of turret accuracy a couple of years ago, its like that on the mi28s as well. Can barely hit a tank from 500m most of the time.

@@flaviog.7628 Bullshit. Turrets on helicopters are inaccurate because of recoil. The M230 is a low pressure cannon, further increasing the inaccuracy. The Mi-28's 2A42 cannon is a high pressure gun and it has even more recoil, but is more with single shots.

You should try playing the British Wasp with it's new AS.12 missiles. They can easily outrange any SPAA you could possibly meet (7km range iirc) but it's borderline impossible to aim them at such ranges using the old optics 😩.
Bruce just enlist as a pilot already this is some insane stuff.
Maybe he doesn’t want to have the risk of dying, or maybe he doesn’t like killing other people

I was about to ask why not 30mm on soviet planes that has insane APFSDS... but then I remembered that HEDP doesn't have diminished effectiveness at long ranges as it's a chemical round. Still velocity could have been higher.
Have you tried new "italian" Harrier with 25mm from LAV-AD yet? Does it have any surprises in performance department?

hey do you know a way to mitigate the jitter in atgm cameras for vr? its super annoying and makes it honestly impossible for a mid skill heli pilot to aim at a moving target

I wish this cannon was as accurate as the russian 30mm at range... but i'd rather just have them nerf the 30mms on the russian helo's already, litterally doesn't make sense for them to be so damn accurate
nothing in RU tree makes much sense from about 11.0 up. whether by accident or intentional, the bias is so obviously bad you just gotta laugh and move on.

I have to comment and ask this from you Bruce since at this time I feel you might be the most experienced VR war thunder player I know and Im desperate. I recently got the new quest 3 headset and Im having major problems in WT. Other games work perfectly BUT war thunder is really low resolution for me in VR and its unplayable to me. In games and hangar the picture is blurry and trees flicker from the low res. Have you had this issue or know of a solution to this? Monitor picture looks perfect and clear. No DLSS, 1440p max resolution my game lets me choose. Tried launcher with different resolutions and messing with steam vr resolution but no fix. Maybe VR is broken this update or something?

The Apache, in my opinion, has the most useless aircraft cannon of all aircraft guns, not counting machine guns.
Even the AH-1 cannon is much more accurate and efficient, despite its smaller caliber.
I practically don’t use the M230 cannon in WT due to low accuracy and very little armor penetration. From the ground, there is any enemy who can easily shoot the Apache. But with such tactics of close and fast fire, it is enough to finish off lightly armored vehicles and aircrafts.
Do you feel much difference between full real and realistic controls? I personally have a hard time flying with full real with choppers feeling too wobbly.
Full real is far more responsive and maneuverable
@@BruceLeeroy94 Any time I tried to fly with my hotas, the chopper wobbled to the slightest movement I had, and admittedly in a more arcade game like this without pedals. Remembering to counter the torque since I didn't have auto trim felt annoying.

Hello Bruce, how have you configured your Quest 2 for War Thunder? For me it looks like it's rendering at a low resolution so it's very hard to spot enemies, unlike in other games I've played in vr like IL2 Sturmovik. Did you have this issue aswell at some point?
I'm unsure. Disable anti aliasing, and make sure your headset resolution is good

If you want my exact setup, all the parts are in the video description. If you want the cheapest way to play the game, probably buying a used xbox one or ps4

So fascinating. Don't waste your talents in the military. I'm sure there's something better for you out there.
The skill in controlling helis is great no doubt. I just don't like that you also exploit the ridiculous sound system in SB by opening the cockpit and using sound to locate tanks, avoid airplanes and missiles. It is a bad arcade design of the game, but flying with open cockpit is just lame exploit IMO.
More like I am undoing the handicap that comes with cockpit view. Everyone else hears as well as I can, so I don't see how I am exploiting a system.
@@BruceLeeroy94 In simulator, nobody should fly with open cockpit, the sound system is arcade shit made for AB and RB. It is a known exploit mostly by RB and AB noobs who come to SB and open cockpit and listen to approaching missiles, just because they don't look around and have shit SA. Obviously it is not the case with you, flying in VR, it is just a nasty, unrealistic exploit that experienced SB pilots should simply not use.
