Idk how I ended up here but way back in like 2002 my step dad had this bigass joystick with all kinds of buttons and he had some kind of ww2 flight simulator. Basically you could pick a plane and it would load you in and there would just be little blips all over and you could fly around finding other planes and getting in dogfights or shooting them down. It was all computer opponents but they would have randomly generated usernames so it felt like you were in loaded into some massive game with 50 other pilots all trying to shoot each other down. I remember being amazed by this game. I had never really put much thought into how much better flight simulators/flying games have gotten since then.
No way i used to play it so much in 2016 it was my first ever plane game i found it laying in my dads closet and i asked him if i could take it and he gave it to me and told me to wait and he brought an super cool joystick l@@SUPRAMIKE18
Would love to see more air sim content! So few make any content on it on here, trying to learn it myself, but its quite hard with no propper support with tutorials.
Amazing gameplay , Bruce, keep up the good work and great videos. Maybe sometime you can do a how to setup video for HOTAS joysticks , specially the sensitivity part ( pitch , roll ,yaw) to mitigate the wobble. I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS X and it wobbles like mad when trying to fine aim , i set the sensitivity to 3 and is somewhat manageable.Any tips?
The reason I don't play asb on mig-21 - is a poor visibility. In vr you can freely move inside a cabin, but for me, it's just a pain in the ass. Nice content though.
Dude, I have this HOTAS exactly the same as yours (minus the VR and pedal), can you share control schemes or show how it is configured? I never get this thing to work, it keeps woobling as F. Thanks.
how do you get the quality to be so good, i have the same vr headset as you and yes i have tried amping up the res on the headset it self and it barely makes a diff and also, when i try to amp up the settings the game starts to create artifacts and it gets disorienting
Try using the cable Connection and also, the quest 2 compresses the video because facebook cheaped out on the PCVR parta of the headset ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I would just get a better headset at this point, Because my quest 2 cable port is like broken after only 3 months of light use.
Skull issue, clearly you should’ve grown your eyes on the top left part of your skull Joke aside, it kinda looks like you’re supposed to only align one of your eyes with the sight IRL?
@@maplearrow1842nah, it's just a ww2 style reflector sight taken from a yak9 or something and mounted upside down. Because the radar scope is in the way of the integrated sight other models use.
Hey Bruce, do you play with max sensitivity on your hotas? I know it’s personal preference, but I’m curious how your movement is so smooth! What’s your non linearity and sensitivity? TIA
I hope one day to be able to afford a set up like yours, rn I do MnK sim stuff haha 😂😂😂. Hopefully after I move out of California. It's almost 9$ for a gallon of milk where I live
Quick question, is there anything youre using to keep your VR tracking so smooth? When i record video, its like the video is jittery, even when im holding my head perfectly still.
Ive been dying to try sim but i don't feel comfortable without a sqaud to help call stuff out. Any suggestions for someone looking to get into sim? Best jet i have is the F5C and F8E
Set up good camera controls, and practice other things like ground pounding so you can switch to something else in the battle if you are finding fighter stuff isn't working out for you.
@@BruceLeeroy94 I'm very thankful to have the Logitech G600 for my mouse so I have 12 hotkeys at thumbs reach. Do you think a M&K setup is viable with sim?
Bruce, what's with the helmet? Oculus? Why the wire? It's wireless. I have a Pico4 and a video card missing - RTX 4080. The picture in the helmet is not so clear. Everything is blurry. How did you achieve image clarity in the helmet?
porfavor podrias hacer un tutorial de como configurar las oculus 2 para jugar a war thunder con la mejor nitidez posible o decirme que configuracion utilizas tu porque yo lo veo muy borroso todo
because I got to spend 60$ to fly a mig-21, and then spend dozens of hours learning how to turn it on and operate it. I'll spend that much time on stuff Im really interested in though, like the UH-1
@@BruceLeeroy94 That's fair, thank you for the reply. I do want to point out that the MiG-21bis goes on sale somewhat regularly, I got it for $25 USD. It's quite simple actually, I think you could learn to fly it fairly well in short time. DCS' realism makes for really interesting and satisfying fights, something that War Thunder really lacks imo. You could also get a free two week trial of every DCS module for free if you have the standalone client. You should give it a try to see if you like it.
@@BruceLeeroy94this is cool as hell.. how long did it take you to get used to the simulation? Or VR? You've got some extremely great hand-eye coordination and situational awareness! This is dope
@@bamadondon0495Probably a few months of daily playing, but I didn't jump in at once. I stuck one leg into sim for a few years bu playing with an xbox controller, and then years later got peds and a HOTAS.
You know there are a lot of irl Mig-21's so if you ever find yourself with a spare 300K just laying around you can buy one for yourself. lol
300k? they go for like 50k max. the maintenance is what will kill you thought.
Really? I thought those where just the bad ones with a old broken engines, and it's the air frame that is cheep, the plane is like 95% turbojet.
this is not a dream my god 17 minutes🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
One of my favourite video from your channel I will be pleased to see more sim air footage

3:48 just looks hillarious but I love how the game allows 360 view.
Nice to see some fixed wing stuff!
no way dude ive never seen you fly a fixed wing before this is epic
nice done ^^ i'm doing a little air simulation battle with track ir that makes easier to keep an eye on the ennemy airplane.
BRUCE is the best oh my god that dog fight with the A4 showed such good control over the aircraft wow
God you're good with that thing. Sick video
Love the Ace Combat 2-esque background music.

Set all the sensitivity sliders to 100, then change the linearity curve in each axis setting to 1.2 or something
Holy shit, the heli guy is in a mig-21, everyone run!

How did you not crash into the A10 at 8:34 lol. When I played custom battles with friends I was shooting down their A10's with a Yak-1 from late WW2
What settings are you using on quest? I barely see anything on it

how are you able to so crisply see enemy aircraft? on my oculus cv1 anything further than .5km is a black dot.
The Quest 2 has a much better resolution, and I have a 4090, so I can run it at a giigher frame rate too.
