I love these gels! They are spendy, but it's so worth it especially if you are trying to save time and you love syrups - they go on quickly and evenly. I do think the blue was pooling under the swatch stick because it levels well normally. That first duo-shift glitter is one of my favorites. I saw your comment about why you paint on the bottom of the swatch stick, which I completely understand. I do have a tip that may work as well, but fair warning it's kind of low rent, so just for personal use. You can paint on the stick part and use clear gift tape after your cure and wipe off the sticky residue, and this creates a cheap and extremely durable "top coat." I also use this over permanent marker (if I label the stick) so it doesn't smear or get removed by isopropyl alcohol. I will sometimes do this to show what 2 coats look like or to combine colors (like showing a glitter over black and white). I hope this helps!
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed and thought-out reply! I've really met some of the nicest people in this community 😊 I'll have to try the tape trick because it does tend to pool on the underside of the swatches. And that's a great idea for labeling! I've definitely accidentally wiped off a label or two 😅 Have you tried any of the Mayo brand polishes? I was thinking of giving those a go next. Thanks again for checking out my video, love!
@@GetPressedNailsByC You are quite welcome! I'm looking forward to more of your content - I like your style of video and your narration is very detailed and well put together, I'm guessing that is your teacher vibe. :) I haven't tried Mayo, but it's on my list. I really love F-Nail (aka "From the Nail" I think) and I also tried some Izemi syrups that I liked, was really impressed by the formula. My favorite Amazon polishes are from Born Pretty. I actually have very few non-syrup gels as I tend to do mostly polygel and a simple syrup with top-coat or nail art. I love magnetic gels and micro-glitters, as well. I suffered some nail damage last year so the last 6 months have been quite a learning process for me. I didn't start working with curing products until 2020 so it's a relatively new skill. Ooh and one of my favorite base/top coat combos is the D-Gel Honey base and top (with Winnie the Pooh on it) because it's a thick formula. I like working with thicker base/top so I can get right to the edge without flooding. So that might be a good one to splurge on to complete your Korean gel set if you haven't already picked it up! Sorry for the novel length reply.
@LydiaKrow No, thanks for the reply! I still feel awkward recording, so I'm glad someone feels like I sound prepared 😅 And I love Born Pretty! They send me PR occasionally, so I've gotten to try out a variety of their polishes. I actually have a Zillabeau haul that I'm trying to find time to do a voice over for where I swatch some Fgel and FirstStreet. I'm liking First Street's jellies from what I can tell! Haven't tried D-gel, but maybe I'll get their base and top. I've heard great things about that and their painting gels. I'd love to get into some character nail art. Sorry to hear about your nail damage, but I hope it's doing better! Please don't apologize for such helpful comments 😊 I love engaging with other nail enthusiasts here ❤️
@@GetPressedNailsByC The nail damage was completely my fault for not understanding the science. I'm actually a little annoyed with myself for being so slapdash since I am a former esthetician who would never consider using a tool or machine I wasn't trained on, but I think it's different when you do it for yourself and you are willing to take more risks or be less alert. lol I've since upgraded my lamp to the proper wavelength, changed my technique, and my nails are growing back stronger. I'm still dealing with some lifting on my pinkie, but the rest of the nails are fine. By summer all should be good. :D
@@LydiaKrow Oh no! I didn't realize it was that bad, but I'm glad to hear it's healing 😊 At least it's growing back! My sister lost a whole toenail due to an accident, and it never grew back quite right.
Thanks for watching my video! Do you mean the Doi gels? What I show is a single coat, but you can get a pretty opaque color in 3. It's not going to be like completely opaque like a normal cream gel, but if you want to check out www.youtube.com/@nailbayo here on TH-cam, that's the creator! She posts more swatches of her products.
Hi! Thanks for checking out my video 😊 Honestly it's because I'm lazy and on budget. Painting on the underside means I don't have to top coat it which saves me time and top coat.
Wow that's a awesome haul love The products would love to try them out love it 😀😀😀
Great haul luv thanks for sharing and showing much love always 💅💕💕💕
I would absolutely love some of the nail products from Korea and Japan. They look so beautiful and high quality!!!
Lovely haul! I am a beginner lash tech who wants to get into press on nails. This video is super helpful for me. I'm saving up for my own haul.🥰
Ooh good for you! It's been a fun journey so far, and hauls are definitely fun 🥰 Thank you for watching!

looks great!
Why do you paint inside the well of the sample and not on the top?
