    Wow! That’s probably the most easily accessed raw water impeller I’ve seen on an inboard boat. 👍🏼😎

      It sure is! The best thing about working on the Ranger 21 is no skinned knuckles trying to access the motor.

    Take a skinny plastic wiretie and wrap it around the impeller to compress it. It will slide off as you insert it. Be sure to lube the shaft at pack with waterpump gease for startup. Wish my impellers were that accessible.

    Great video , pro tip don’t use a screwdriver with a snap in bit to pry the inpeller out of the housing , if the bit falls out you’ve got one more thing to chase with a magnet getting the bit back ( ask me how I know lol)

      Hey. Thanks for the great advice. I’m going to replace the impeller again since we’ve put a couple hundred hours on and I’ll take your excellent advice. I can’t afford to lose more screws.

    Great video! But I am looking at the exhaust water discharge, and the flow is way less than what I have on mine. Might want to pull the covers and core on your heat exchanger and be sure it is clean. Your "raw water" is way cooler than mine, heck I am sucking up 90F sea water right now , so flow is paramount for me. At idle, my exhaust coughs out a 1/2 pint per second, FYI.

      Hey - thansk for the heads up. We arer going to do some work on the boat before we head up to the Trent Severn next month and looking at the cooler is on the list! Its cooler water for sure but still hope that its isnt clogged. The engine temps are in spec on the Garmin but always worth a look! PS Love your videos !!!

    Where can you get the proper impeller part?

    • @jonathanhall7290
      @jonathanhall7290  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. I always use original Volvo parts for my boat. You can get an aftermarket impeller, but I think it’s worth spending the small amount of money to get a real one. I get them at a Volvo parts authorized dealer. There are a number of places online. This is definitely one thing that I have in my boat that I keep a spare one of.

    Hi is the ranger tug 21 all composite construction?

    • @jonathanhall7290
      @jonathanhall7290  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey. There is no wood product at all in the hall of the boat. It’s totally composite. It’s a fiberglass hole with a gelcoat cover.
