The plane wouldn't be completely limited in what it can do. That's why they have different Cat's per configuration or G-limiters to tell you what not to d.o....it differs per aircraft. That's there to limit what the plane will do and to not add undue stress on the frame among other things.
5:18 :As for the screens it’s like the F-35. The boxes can’t be labeled because when you click menu the labels are digital and change around. You have to follow the green digital text depending on what you want to do. Each button doesn’t just do one thing
The glare, unfortunately, is true to life. It’s why you often see pilots tilting their mirrors to stop it . Would actually be a good feature to add on. Though IIRC correctly in the original release of the F-15 you could turn the mirror reflection on or off 🤔
Overall, I've been enjoying it. It's my new favorite in their F-15 package. As others have pointed out, DC Designs isn't a study level developer. While I do like more complicated and (admittedly) better quality products like the IFE Heatblur Tomcat, this F-15 package is a nice "get in and go" option without having to spend much time learning the product. Has anyone seen any repaints available for this yet? The default OANG scheme is my favorite, but for some reason the Hawk on the tail is green vs. black (like in the real aircraft). I'd like to see 20-008 with the correct black Hawk, and 20-007 with the red Hawk as options... PS: Subscribed Steve.
Yea and I get it some people don't go for the study level or the more intricate planes. Some rather jump in and go... and that's fine I have my days where I'm like that too. I have seen any paint kits for it yet.
After flying it a bit, I think your right about the weight of the payload should be more realistic on the manuverability but other than that I think it's very fun and As accurate as we can get to the F-15EX at this point. Like I said it will get updated as we go along. DCD is always working on multiple projects all the time not just one aircraft for 12 months So, it's going to take time to fix issues. Not ideal for impatient people. But I'm thoroughly enjoying the F-15EX now that it's on Xbox and It was free.
5:57 those bars are supposed to be multi colored orange, the middle section green, and then orange again to let you know if your bingo, boxes not sure but I’m pretty sure they are supposed to be orange
First thing, I would imagine that the new EX is probably pretty damn nimble, even when weighed down. The new F110-GE-129 engines produce 29,000lbs at full tilt for 58,000lbs. (Maybe even more then that. You know how sneaky info like that can be? Rember when the head test pilot at Boing let it slip that she will fly Mach 3? Then they walked that back.) Thats compared to the F100-PW-220 engines in the Strike Eagle that produce 50,000 pounds of thrust. The Eagle 2 is paddleing a lot harder then its grandpa is. Now, factor in the fly by wire system and you have the computers controlling things as tho it has trust vectoring. So, I might be wrong, but Ill bet its flying more realisticly then you think. I dont fly Microsoft so I do have a serious question for you. Is there combat in the sim? (I have always thought that it was just for flying and navigating). If not, then what do you do with all of the weapons? If yes...I may have to hop into MS and try it out. I fly DCS and the Strike Eagle has been an ongoing train wreck there. And, I doubt that we will ever see the new Super Eagle on the platform. Insert sad face here. Im thinking that this is going to be an amazing mod as they develope it and bring it into completion. This is the first video of yours that I have seen and I think that you do a good review on showing this little jem off. Thank you. Have lots of fun flights.
Not all Strike Eagles have PW220. Almost half of fleet has much stronger PW229 which are closer to GE129 in terms of uninstalled thrust and response. Naked Strike Eagle with 229's is not a slouch, although EX has turkey feathers back on engines which helps negate an extra drag for MWS pods at the both sides of front fuselage. GE129 might also perform better in supersonic part of envelope where usually Eagle stay when armed with medium loadouts (M1.1 - M1,6).
HI DC Designs isn't a study level developer. Even though they gave the update away for free they didn't have to market it. They did not provide a manual for the plane which is basic. The plane looks in the air and behaves like a toy. The flight is not smooth and the takeoff is not smooth. All you did say right. They need to return the plane to the hangar and rebuild it. A company whose products are below all criticism does not understand how just flight market them.
