  • An Orlando, Florida, police officer is pulled over for allegedly speeding. A deputy pulled the officer over, who was driving his patrol car. The deputy reportedly clocked officer Alexander Shaouni going 80 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone. Shaouni now faces charges including fleeing a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, speeding and resisting arrest. He has been “relieved of duty” according to the Orlando Police department pending an investigation.

@@Aogamii A thank you for working hard would be nice ONCE in a while, but getting a thank you everyday for doing relatively normal tasks wouldn’t be encouragement at all and I bet people would find it annoying over time. However, the police force has been getting a lot of bad press over the years and encouraging these good cops to mitigate these bad cops and paint a good picture of themselves would be overall beneficial to the people. So I agree that we should encourage these good cops to counteract and work against these bad cops, but I don’t agree on the fact that we should give thank you’s to cops everyday because that sounds ridiculous.

It’s crazy how you can fail the police academy and exam multiple times and only have a high school education, but lawyers have to be educated, go to school for around 8-12 years, and still don’t have as much power or privilege as police
