Hey man. I’m following your channel cause I also got an AW GTI, and I’ve been searching for other projects looking for similar upgrades (minus touching the exhaust). Kudos for sharing with your AW brethren, and for such a great result! I have a few questions for you if you don’t mind: - how is your power output distributed? Really curious on this as I’m the kind of guy to sacrifice max power for max availability in the rev range. - that level of pops and bangs are too much for an older fellow like me. Did you request it like that, or is it inevitable with the added fuel injection from the remap? Looking forward for that Nordschleife lap!!
Thank you bro! Know they’re not documented that much so wanted to get some vids out there. No worries at all mate, it’s a really great distribution of power across the rev range. Think max torque is around 2.5k and max power at just over 5? If you shoot me a message on insta I’m happy to send the dyno graph across :) and about the over run, it’s defo too much, it’s something they can toggle on or off when they map it, so don’t need to have it on at all. But in all fairness, I have to make the car do it, it’s certain revs where it really pops, usually it’s quite a subtle burble. Me too! Going back in August for a proper session on the ring.
I'm looking to get the turbo back corbra sports exhaust but I don't know if I should take the full straight pipe or the one with a resonator still on, what do you reckon?
If you're keeping the downpipe standard, the one with the res is a really nice level of noise, but you could go full straight pipe if you wanted to be more asbo, don't think it would be too loud :)
Hmmm pop & bang for me is a no no tbh , im jus doing a center resonator delete & wil probably weld new exhaust tips , thats good enough for me a bit of grunt & a respectable tone 😂, I will do a stage 1 eventually possibly after i renew the timing chain for added engine safety .
Nice power! What are the supporting mods? Decat and gpf removal, straight pipe, intercooler and intake? Not sure on the weird broken snare drum sound but nice to scare a few of the locals 😅
Thanks! Yes you’re pretty much right on the money with that. Agreed, needs a backbox, just unfortunate that I had an exhaust with only the res before the decat went on 😂
Hi mate, nice video! I have a question... are you sure that are really 295hp and 530nm? I told you that because the stage 2 on the Polo with the small stock turbo and the 2.0 tsi gen3B normally reach 250/260hp and 420/430nm. If you can do a 100-200km/h with a dragy would be great. Thanks!
Thank you! Yes I'm sure, MRC tuning are really reliable, can put the dyno graph up if you'd like! I've seen a lot of poor tunes on these cars at stage 2, I was running 265bhp on a stage 1 map from MRC, I think a lot of companies just don't know how to tune these engines tbh. Not got a dragy but will get one at some point!
Just as a note: it’s not that much of a small turbo. These gen3b engines come with the IS20, not the IS12’s of the previous gen 1.8 TSI. I think it’s the ideal turbo to get the best fun out of the Polo platform. The MQB A0’s are really not ready for the kind of savagery of the IS38.
Blip the throttle as the revs drop especially at 5k and 4k rpm for extra crackles coz your car was doing the same as mine sometimes won’t get any on the down shift but blip it and you’ll get em & Doug did mention that but it flew over my head lol, I got the same map from mrc mine made 284ps & 500nm truly transformed the experience
Hi mate, love the car I’ve got one too with the same intake on stage 1 but my turbo flutter sounds more jdm haha. Also I’m thinking of going stage 2 aswell would you recommend MRC? and if you don’t mind how much do they charge ? Cheers
Thank you! Ahh nice, have you got the muffler delete on there? I couldn’t recommend MRC enough, perfect through and through. Think my stage 1 was 750 ish and then stage 2 with the decaf fitting was around 900, that was discounted because I was already tuned by them tho.
Fair enough, no I’ve just got the intake but thinking of getting a turbo elbow. Did you also get your gearbox mapped as-well included ? I might have to pay them a visit
Great build! Would like to see another POV video now with the new stage 2 setup and a dragy 100-200 would be great💪
Thank you very much! Will defo do that soon.

The joy on your face 😢 that's all I want
All you need is a downpipe! :)
Love your shifting , need same on my S1 which is going to get custom exhaust possibly 3 weeks
Exciting stuff! Sure you’ll love it

Seems like it handles it very well!
It does surprisingly well!
Nice! Mine is going stage 2 next week 😁
Exciting stuff! You’ll love it mate
Pops and bangs are very questionable... Good power tho.
I agree, wasn’t expecting them to be that crazy 😂 and thanks!
Its not a pop n bang remap car comes like this standard, decat and muff delete just makes it audible now
@@pjb9010 I drove one and doesn’t pop at all. Sounds like a hoover.
True, but it has had overrun added.
My henry hoover sounded the same
Another Great Video!
Thank you mate!
I’m waiting on delivery for a new polo GTI, love the way yours sounds but not sure if the facelifted version would be able to sound the same
Defo will be able to, just a case of when the ECU is unlocked and you’re able to get a downpipe on it 👍
@@PassionForPetrol abit new to modifying, when do you think that would be possible?
To be fair the platform has been out for a while now, wouldn’t be surprised if they unlock it within the next 6 months but don’t quote me on that 😂
What exhaust setup

@@PassionForPetrol okay awesome. Were MRC fine with mapping out the GPF regens etc?
All good mate, no issues
What’s the exhaust setup now? Decat + opf delete (private roads of course) 😉
You know 😉 haha yeah so the only thing on the exhaust now is a centre res, no cat or gpf, gonna get a back box on it at some point tho haha
@@PassionForPetrollmao the only thing you kept on the exhaust is the one thing you can legally take off 🤣 I rate that!
What can I say, I’m a law abiding citizen 😂
The truck flashing its lights at 7:55 though
Hadn’t even noticed 😂

@@PassionForPetrol thank you for the fast reply! I hope to see soon more video about the Polo 😁
No worries! Plenty more to come on the car don’t worry haha

Isn’t it true that the housing is is20 but the internals are smaller? I’ve seen some run well with an is38, don’t know much about it tho.
How much did all of it cost , the staging
You could probably do stage 2 for around 3 grand, maybe a bit more
where do i find a mrs like that?
You have to import them unfortunately 😂

Ahh thanks for that bro! Yeah really turns them into a little rocket doesn’t it.
100-200 time?
Coming soon, gonna get a dragy 👌
Don't worry we'll all be going about on bikes in the not too distant future!
Bloody annoying haha
@@PassionForPetrol Start watching the tour de France now to get some top tips

Defo get the turbo elbow, makes all the difference. I got it mapped yes, that is extra tho, around 500, but discounted if you’ve had a map from them
Sounds great, but to loud for my taste. I have the 2018 model without opf that’s enough sound for me 😊
I agreed it’s too loud, getting a back box in in a couple days 😂
TH-cam commercials are out of control!
Agreed. Not even monetised and they’re still on there 😂
Too much noise for my liking but nearly 300bhp in a polo is quick
It’s much better now I’ve had a back box out on it, no longer asbo loud 😂 it defo shifts!
Dude its amazing, but downpipe and a tune is not stage 2 just saying
Thank you! Has all other supporting mods too, intercooler, intake etc, I go through it in my first video 👍
Tell that so MRC
@@PassionForPetrol NIce! sorry for missjudging then!
@@teodordimitrov4146 all good bro 👌
Brasil é uma piada mesmo, só aqui nesse país de merda não fabricam esse modelo de Pollo.
That’s a shame!
Want to get stage 1 for mine but worried about the warrenty being void🤔🫤
That’s fair 👌
