I am working on and LS swap. with Super T-56 6 speed trans.. You said higher rear end gear makes the clutch work harder .. A Low gear is 4.11 to 1 a high gear is 2.70 to one .. now that overdrive transmissions are available .. lower rear axle ratios can be used and still be able to cruise on the highway at lower engine RPM's and better bass mileage.. I was quoted on a 11" dual disc Clutch lots of reciprocating mass .. I found a clutch with 10# lighter steel flywheel and 9" discs but heck they are in Australia . They look to be very quality however.. Not sure I want an aluminum fly wheel ???
I do like the lever assist Clutch Crower built a centrifugal weighted clutch for pulling tractors and Trucks since many years ago called the Crowergluide Clutch
