Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to write. I'm glad you are enjoying my vids. I'm having a lot of fun making them. Glad to know they help some people out. I actually bought that stand for my KZ750. It doesn't have provisions for bobbins. I've been looking at the RE ones. They do look sharp. Good to know they work well. Thanks for the tip.
I installed the K&N also but instead of the washer trick (which I thought I might do) I took a box knife and cut off the top of the air intake and reused just the edge or frame with the screw holes. Also for my exhaust, I took a 7/8 in. hole saw on a 1 ft. extension and drilled out the baffles. I went in 3 levels of baffles but you can test for sound at each level. This is old school but it made about equal improvement as did the air filter. Much better acceleration. And mostly I enjoy the sound.. :)
Right on!! I want to keep all of the stock pieces I'm taking off or replacing to stay stock, just so I have them. I think it's because this is my first ever new bike since I started riding 30+ years ago, and want to have all the original parts. Right on that it worked for you! Good idea about the pipes. Glad it worked for you! I do want my bike louder. I also want to lighten the pipes, so will probably end up with buying something aftermarket.
Hi. Thanks for writing. That is not the idea behind my channel. I understand my style is not for everyone, but it is my scope to just have fun with friends in the garage hanging out with me, rather than a quick, step by step process. If you like, take a quick look at my introduction video and it will explain. th-cam.com/video/efQkmqMZq5s/w-d-xo.html Again, thanks for taking the time to write, and for watching. Cheers.
Hi, and thanks for writing! In my opinion, no, you you do not have to change the exhaust if you change the air filter. There should be absolutely no.damage or problem. You will feel the results of more power and better throttle response, even if you don't change the exhaust.
Hello, and thank you for writing. The K&N filter is a reusable filter. As such, it can be washed with warm water and soap. If necessary, a nylon bristle brush which is not too aggressive (such as a toothbrush) can be used to remove any heavy dirt deposits ( I believe K&N also makes a proprietary you can use instead of soap and water). After cleaning, rinse the filter well with warm water. Then, the filter can be shaken to remove excess water. Low pressure air can also be used,, but only blow from the outside to inside of the filter. Leave the filter to dry thoroughly (overnight is good, in the sun is also good). Once it is fully dry, then apply a light coat of air filter oil, and you're ready to ride again. I hope this information was helpful.
Hi. Thanks for watching, and for writing. The original cover does fit. It's typical, however, to remove it so that you get more air into the airbox. With the cover on, it is more restrictive. You get more of a difference with the high flow filter and cover off than you do with the high flow filter and the cover on.
No need to run the bike for 12 minutes to "remap" the ECU. The ECU "remaps" several times every second. Letting the ECU "get used to the increased air flow" is a myth.
Hi. Thanks for writing. I've heard so much conflicting information regarding this that I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to just let it idle for a bit before riding, just to be on the safe side.
@@KZ_KonThink about how an ECU works. An ECU needs to constantly adjust the timing and quantity of fuel to be injected depending on things like temperature, rpm, airflow, reference mapping, etc. It does that multiple times per second. So if the flow increases because of a change in air filter the ECU will adjust for that immediately. That unless the modifications are such that the parameters the ECU needs to work with are completely out of the range of the sensors used. So yeah, don't worry about it and just ride the thing.
@@KZ_Kon I too ride a GT 650 Mr.Clean and that cowl looks sick. I'm still on a stock black cowl. I'll get it wrapped in chrome, looks beautiful. Cheers from India.

Is it okay to change air filter first without changing the stock exhaust? Will my engine not get damage ?

How are you going to clean the inside of the filter tube where the dirtier surface is?
