Cet album surpasse tous les enregistrements que j'ai entendus du Quintet de Schubert ... parce que les musiciens font dialoguer les instruments plutôt que de chercher à se surpasser individuellement (réf. sur l'album - le dialogue du violon et du violoncelle à 9:05 de l'Adagio).
Gautier Capuçon est un grand virtuose. Il est aussi un « joueur d'équipe» (sur cet album comme ailleurs). Ce qui le distingue de plusieurs grands solistes. Cela dit, peu de Quartets+violoncelliste-vedette arrivent à cette maîtrise. J'ai cherché dans plusieurs enregistrements ce dialogue dont je parle plus haut et je ne l'ai pas retrouvé, sinon dans l'interprétation du Alban Berg Quartet enregistré en 1985.
