There was a similar youtube video where the show was located in south carolina and the guy reported almost the same exact thing . but we had to scope it out just to see...
Thanks you two for sharing your experience, and yes I was asking questions about what you viewed! I believe as you that gardening and nutrition should have been included in a prepping show? I have a military survival manual as a great reference, and I learned that the long term food is just calories with little concern for nutrients! Great content and thanks again for your hard work and Greetings from Bluff Country Iowa
Thanks so much. Bryan has both military and current medical experience. Amy is a nutritionist and beekeeper and the main food preparer of the house, so we do have good knowledge between the two of us. We are very glad to have a freeze dryer and dehydrator to put away food as we can. And once we get the greenhouse going (year round) we'll have a reliable way to produce it! Thanks for the comment!!
Thanks 👍 we think it’s smart to be prepared for big things and small- like next week, we may get 2 feet of snow. What if it was 4 feet?? Good to have everything you need for awhile.
The problem is the people who go these shows hardly ever buy any of the prepper stuff . The cost of setting up, is very expensive. So the vendors must sell the items that sell and sell for a profit. Yes people talk like they will buy the prepper stuff but, they really don't. They are more likely to order the stuff off Amazon when they get home. So, your lucky they even tried to have a prepper show
I understand the expense of vendor shows, as I am an artist/vendor myself and used to paying $500 for a vendor spot at markets. I think people get into the business of "vending"' without a solid understanding of the financial side of what it takes to turn a profit and how that may/may not match with their audience's buying capacity.
Hi guys I agree it looked very lax on preps! But I do think you are on the right track! I have gotten a empty trauma bag and filled it out with med supplies not alot of band aid's. Some of the prep food stores is good but your right to put away your own foods. The idea of seeds is a great way of going forward but go to a spring Home & Garden show to get your seeds. Choose the ones you can grow and like. Then pick what you can grow in one season & double the amount of seeds you get. Put half of them back for security of one season growing. As for power look into various solar, battery back-up systems. I agree with your ideas alot on self reliance. Plus Im in Alaska and you have to prepare for" what if" more than most people, these are good things to really look into! Best of luck on your educational journey, Craig
Thanks so much. We just got hit with a winter storm with 5 feet of snow and felt pretty darn prepared for that one. We are just getting started on our preparedness journey, but have made good headway with some key provisions (battery & solar power) and freeze dryer.
My freeze drier was my best investment approaching the second year and no issues. The best part is making what I like to eat and I know what's goes into it. I grow it cook it FD it. Books are also a good prep..
Excellent!! exactly my reason for using it- it's going to be the perfect thing for when we get our year round greenhouse going!!! stay tuned for that project later this year.
Like your channel and your projects -- Free advice, "don't show or reveal too much about your own preparations as people are watching", said the slightly paranoid prepper! I always enjoy your videos and I look forward to the next post!
I agree with you . Many people that say they are preppers are a little over the top for most of us. While we need to prepare to keep the bad guys away we mostly need to prepare to just servive in the hard times. Stocking food , meds , basic tools, knowledge are what we need . To Many of us the belief in the good Lord is important also.
Thanks so much for sharing your sentiments. It sure makes it easier to endure any hard time (even being bedridden with a broken leg) to have the basics taken care of. Appreciate your commonsense perspective and values! (people need to remember how America pulled it together during WW2).
So far I like the water purification products and ham radio equipment. you saved money and your time!
So... it's a gun show sans guns? It looks pretty much identical to the gun show we have here but without the actual guns. Why I quit going, the gun prices were pretty standard, as were ammo, and you have to pay to look at peoples cool collections of stuff you don't need.
haha pretty much. i was shocked at the entrance fee and we didn't even get into a raffle prize drawing for that
Medical is good....in a Boulder County show.....of "Assault" knives......lmao
haha
I see a man that has no clue how to examine a blade weapon.
He's more of a heavy artillery veteran
@@ColoradoMountainLiving Rule of thumb when handling bladed weapons, treat them like extremely large razor blades. Because the good ones are that sharp.
Seemed VERY disappointing. I definitely see the mind set of the prepper. At least in that area. Nothing that inspired a Godly perspective and a spiritual preparedness.
just seemed like an import trade show using the word "prepper" to attract crowds
This looks like a Gun Show. Not a prepper expo.
without any guns tho lol
did anyone object to being filmed?
yes one person but we told him we'd edit him out.
Looked like a lot of Chinese junk . Better off gathering gear n supplies n learning to be self sufficient.
I know it. So disappointing.
yes sadly most cheaply made goods and more like fads instead of real needed equipment
too bad, really
Site , DiesinEveryFilmCustoms , he’s a character , but makes some fabulous weapons , almost like pieces of ART
interesting
