I have seen it lifted for the SS Lord Selkirk and another boat. I have waited in traffic a few times as the bridge was lifted.

My Dad came to Selkirk in 1927 from Holland to farm. It all went south in the crash of 1929. The bank came and took everything. He told me they owned all the equipment but the bank said it would go against the lien on the farm. He left with only a backpack and his clothes. Was a very distressing time.

Do they still lift the bridge anymore? Would love to see a video in shipping history. I’ve heard stories of the red being incredibly active with boat trafic
