This was a huge hit for Amii Stewart reaching the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in April 1979! I've always loved this great disco/dance track! So many great disco tracks hit the top ten in 1979! Blondie's "Heart Of Glass" Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" Chic's "Good Times" Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell" Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" Bee Gee's "Tragedy" Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" "Bad Girls" & "Dim All The Lights" to name just a few! What an amazing year 1979 was!!!!
I played the hell out of this song at the clubs. FLOOR FILLER every time and talk about EPIC vocals! Amii Stewart killed this song with her vocals, dance moves costume. Knock On Wood remains on my top 10 favorite dance songs of all time.
Amii Stuwart is a spectacle of nature as well as being the most beautiful singer ever also has the best voice I love it, today you decelebrated have sung redone that is voice if they forget it
I used to blast this song. When I was a kid, my mom bought me this K-Tel album compilation of hits (remember K-tel??!!) "Hot Nights and City Lights" was the theme. LOVED this one.
I think this is one album that I got from Columbia House (I think that's the one). All I had to do was tape a penny to the order form and 6 to 8 weeks later I had 10 albums! I'm pretty sure I still owe them money and I'm STILL grounded! Lol
This is a radio shortened radio edit version, but the 12" original version is phenomenal. An updated remix was made in 1985 with more powerful metallic sounding percussion (called 'Knock On Wood / Ash 48') without altering much of the original. It's a superb version worth listening to!
Wow I always Loved this song, but this is my first time ever seeing the video that went with the song. Used to listen to this one on the radio back in the day. 😃
Last I checked Amii is 66 but still fit and fabulous even now! She's been living in Rome, Italy since the mid-1980s and is fluent in Italian. A prolific recording artist with 16 albums under her belt.
Another positive energy song from this time era, Peaches & Herb Shake Your Groove Thing. You should check it out if you haven't already. Good vibes. I think you would like it.
I’m into punk, metal, rock, alternative, goth and I still dig this song. Amazing vocal performance and she’s sexy AF! At 4:13 the guy just laughs at her talent. He’s stunned!
I use to max up the volume with this one! I was just a little girl. My mama loved her! This song will always have a special place in my heart ❤️ Early childhood memories and because my late mama loved this. God rest your lovely soul mama ❤️ 🌹💕 When this song was played at a lit of my family functions, man did the dance floor get packed! This song... O-M-G! YES!!! DISCO/DANCE... Stilland always will sounds amazing! You can't not move listening to this! You gotta move! Amii is so beautiful! Gorgeous! Amazing voice! And the ENERGY! MMM... THE ENERGY Shawn and Mel, I would LOVE to go dancing with you guys! 💕
OMG! DISCO!!! Loved it. Music up on full blast driving down the road the radio playing music we could dance to in out seats, screaming our lungs out as we drove to this and many others of the disco Era. ♥️
To be able to carry the entire video alone with no other distractions in s amazing!! Loved the song in my childhood and have never seen the video. ❤️❤️ S&M amazed again !!!!
I'm old now and wear whatever I want, y'all better watch out if I break this one out. lol They already don't know what to think of me. TY for having fun with us to such a great underrated song!
Omg you are both amazing people. I love this song so much. It is like she has super powers. If ever there is a black wonder woman, Ami should be it. My Favorite song. Someone should do a version of her outfit and choreography dance to this song. Thank you for your reaction. I love you both.
I’m an old person so I was dancing to this in 1979. Back then, most people would have remembered the original of this song from. 1966 and knew this was a remake.
This is an old standard. Even Bowie covered it. “Knock on Wood is a 1966 hit song written by Eddie Floyd and Steve Cropper and originally performed by Floyd.”
I have a childhood memory of this song. My parents were one of those hippies who hated disco and listened to only rock. When this song came on the radio in the car, I expected them to quickly change the channel. My dad turned it up...loud! We were all dancing in the car. Good times.
I recall listening to this song on the radio, when I was in high school and bragging to my mom about how awesome it was. My mom then busted my bubble, telling me how old the song is, and that it's a remake from the 1960's!
This was one of THE BEST Disco songs/videos EVER!! It was perfect! She was GORGEOUS and the music and video were just fantastic!!

All of these!!!
We were spoiled. I thought the good songs would last forever
I played the hell out of this song at the clubs. FLOOR FILLER every time and talk about EPIC vocals! Amii Stewart killed this song with her vocals, dance moves costume. Knock On Wood remains on my top 10 favorite dance songs of all time.
That face, her voice, and the dance moves...she is perfection. Always loved this song growing up.
Amii Stuwart is a spectacle of nature as well as being the most beautiful singer ever also has the best voice I love it, today you decelebrated have sung redone that is voice if they forget it
I’ve heard the song 1,000 times and this is the first time I’ve seen the video! 😁. Banger of a song!
I used to love this song SO MUCH!!😆👏👍❤❤❤
I love everything about this song and video.
Me too ! 🥰
I used to blast this song. When I was a kid, my mom bought me this K-Tel album compilation of hits (remember K-tel??!!) "Hot Nights and City Lights" was the theme. LOVED this one.
I still have my old k-tel records, couldn't afford to buy individual albums when I was a kid.
I think I owned that one. I had several and remember this on one of them. Wow... I'm old.
@@danlayne9436 found the ad for the album on youtube. LOL th-cam.com/video/KdeHTDUzJUQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=MemoryMuseum

My mom had this album also I was like 6 years old and I used to listen to it with her all the time such great memories
One of the best aerobics songs ever…along with Patrick Hernandez’s Born To Be Alive!
I love "Born To Be Alive". A forgotten song from the era...
I would have to add earth wind and fire boogie wonderland to a good aerobic song
Only two disco songs that I really like!
And sky high jigsaw
You need to hear the original version of this song, because it was a major hit in 1966 by Eddie Floyd.
Please do. Thank you for suggesting the original.
Didn’t know this wasn’t the original. Will check that out👀
This is a radio shortened radio edit version, but the 12" original version is phenomenal. An updated remix was made in 1985 with more powerful metallic sounding percussion (called 'Knock On Wood / Ash 48') without altering much of the original. It's a superb version worth listening to!
Thanks I didn't know about the 1985 version, will seek that one out.
I don't know how many times I danced to this on the disco floor. Brings back the memories.
I've always loved this song... still great decades later.
This was my favorite roller skating song!!
This was so hugeand her voice is insane!
Hello carol how are you doing 👋👋👋
This one brings back great memories when a bunch of us went to the club to go dancing.
Hello Barbara how are you doing 👋👋👋👋
Oh yeah ...
Big in the Gay clubs when it was all new & exciting
I'm glad I grew up in the 60s 70s and 80s when the radio played all the genre of music on one station. I love this song
Wow I always Loved this song, but this is my first time ever seeing the video that went with the song. Used to listen to this one on the radio back in the day. 😃
OMG, it's been sooooo long since I heard this. I'm knockin on wood. What ENERGY. Especially the chorus!
I want to hear a marching band do this at halftime. The horns and percussion are custom made to strut this one right outta the end zone.
Christ I must have been around 9 or 10 years of age when this was on the radio.
Another hit for your ‘70s disco party along with KC and Donna Summer
Huge hit 1979! Always got the dance floor packed 🕺💃 🔥
Love this brings back fun memories
Last I checked Amii is 66 but still fit and fabulous even now! She's been living in Rome, Italy since the mid-1980s and is fluent in Italian. A prolific recording artist with 16 albums under her belt.
Oh wow, I can still remember this on the Solid Gold TV show!
Ahhh, Amii Stewart. 1979 with this and "Light My Fire". FYI - Stewart has been working as a goodwill ambassador for Unicef Italia since 2001.
This was a great disco dance song! I love that marching band drum beat in the middle of the song. She was amazing. Great pic!

This I like, it's addictive
IMO this is the greatest disco record of all time.
Amen! Disco got a bad rap somewhere along the line, but I think it was an amazing era, so much fun, and this song is amazing.
So glad y’all played this!! This was one of my favorite songs on the radio. I would turn my little car radio up as loud as it would go! 🤍🎶🔥🥰🔥🎶🤍
Loved the outfit and beautiful make up. I still remember all the words and I was maybe 10 back then.

"Don't Leave me this Way" by Thelma Houston and "Turn the Beat Around" by Viki Sue Robinson would be great follow-up songs after Knock on Wood.
This was a club jam back in the days !!!!!
I'm old now and wear whatever I want, y'all better watch out if I break this one out. lol They already don't know what to think of me. TY for having fun with us to such a great underrated song!
It was a hit all over again in 1985 in the UK with the remixed version reaching the top ten at no. 7.
Omg you are both amazing people. I love this song so much. It is like she has super powers. If ever there is a black wonder woman, Ami should be it. My Favorite song. Someone should do a version of her outfit and choreography dance to this song. Thank you for your reaction. I love you both.

This song was always a hit at the disco. Got everyone up and dancing.
I remember this, good song 🎵
Killer song to get down to. One of the better Disco songs from the 70s. Thank you so much for your reaction.
Ami remained for many years just as energetic as ever. She is so fun to watch when she has dancers rocking the song with her.
I remember seeing this as a four year old .. The video .. I loved to dance along to it! I thought she was some sort of Goddess ❤

Brings back so many memories of the late 70s. Look into playing eruption. One way ticket and I can’t stand the rain. From same era.
I have a childhood memory of this song. My parents were one of those hippies who hated disco and listened to only rock. When this song came on the radio in the car, I expected them to quickly change the channel. My dad turned it up...loud! We were all dancing in the car. Good times.
❤️ HAPPY PRE-VALENTINE’S DAY!!! ❤️ ⭐️ Another FANTASTIC song from the 70’s!!! ⭐️

You can't beat the original disco music from this singer especially on the long play version....I used to dance my butt off in those days.
Thanks, great 70's hit.
HUGE dance club song! You absolutely can’t not do an air fist knock to that boom, boom, boom beat.😊
