Does TopSpeed sell any universal type mufflers that would sound like this one? i'd love to use one of their mufflers in a custom install for my VW (VR6 motor).

I agree. The coupes remind me too much of the Altima coupe. They didnt seem to take the time out to change much between them.
Haha the funny is growing up I've always wanted the g37s Coupe but when I finally get one, I got the x sedan. Lol I think it's a sexy sedan, the more I look at it.

IMO it is how the s sedan should have come from the factory. I wanted an exhaust that was fun but still classy as I often meet clients for business appts. I find myself driving much more and more aggressive just to hear it come alive. Burning through gas but I love it, no regrets and would buy again. It's actually motivated me to finish out my other mods.

man i think i might go this route with my 08 g35 i want more growl not a Trumpet sound i would do a muffler delete but i feel like i probably wouldnt like it in the long run. or i might just go with intakes with stock exhaust

I have a 2013 G37x, description says 08-12 g37. Is there that big of a difference between 2012 and 2013 model years that it wouldn't fit?

Would adding a 2.5 to 3 inch y pipe make it louder? I just picked up one of these exhausts and it’s a bit too quiet.
How would you compare it to a muffler delete? I’m thinking of purchasing one but I want it a little louder than a muffler delete?
yep, gets a bit deeper and louder after adding the megan racing ypipe. Got a lot deeper, and a bit louder after F1 cats afterwards.
@@Alex-xt2tb muffler delete sounds good at idle and low rpm, but its just noise when you step on it, and the drone at certain speeds gives headaches.
I’d say this kit with HFC or test pipes would be perfect. You could add a y pipe as well if you wanted.

yeah, there is virtually no drone. If you want loud, this isnt for you. If you want louder than stock, but deep and refined instead of loud and obnoxious, this is the exhaust for you.

I absolutely love this setup and price isn't bad either. Is quality and fitment good? One of my biggest concern is drone, I know you said with just the catback there is no drone but would there be drone with a hfc added and maybe an X Pipe? This is my daily and plan to take long trips on. Don't want the wife to be to kill me lol. Thanks!
crazykyle709 it will definitely make it louder but the new bodies are pretty refined and minimizing drone
Buddy of mine had the same setup with FI RHFC, a manzo y-pipe, and there was still pretty much no drone. In certain RPM ranges it did add a bit, but nothing terrible. Fitment was 9.5/10 I had to torch one of the muffler hangars because one of the tips was 0.5cm lower than the other. Hardly noticeable unless you really look for it. Fixed easily.

Total noob here, how much does it cost to install an exhaust?
You can do it yourself for free, its super easy, just need a jack and 2 jack stands, or ramps. A mechanic will charge you for labour, so whatever their rate is, around 1 hour.
Can I order this for my 2012 G37x? Does your exhaust come with an X pipe catback system?

nitish21 is there any difference in power because it's a Y and not an X? And is it possible to pay extra for blue burnt tips?
Ryan Hulse unfortunately they only come with the standard silver tips, the power difference would be negligible tbh
The main reason for an exhaust on an G sedan is to get the restriction they put where the exhaust pipe meets the muffler. In the oem system, it bottlenecks down to 1.5". These cars were tested with 3" pipes, 2.5" pipes and 2" pipes, and 2.5" was the most optimal setup. That being said, the power difference was like 5 horsepower. This system is 60mm (2.36") so paying more money for something else gets you nicer welds, better steel, better build quality, true stainless vs coated, bigger diameter pipes will also be louder of course, but the power difference wont be anything too dramatic. The reason a lot of exhausts dont fit the AWD Gs is because of the transfer case getting in the way. Since this uses the stock ypipe, you dont have to worry about that.

im saying the equivalent of this on the coupe from Top Speed is an axleback exhaust system, not a catback. they do have a catback system, but its completely different. It has a single central resonator with the pipe splitting in two only at the mufflers. Completely different geometry, completely different design. Cant compare the two. Thats all Im saying.

How much of a difference is it compared to the stock noise level?
its definitely louder, but its not over the top. For a classy sedan, its perfect. Its quieter than most true catbacks on the market, but thats because it uses the stock ypipe. You can spend a bit more, and get an xpipe and high flow cats to get a lot more noise out of the exhaust.

Is there any performance gains?
Minor
Minimal because it just removes the restriction in front of the mufflers. Basically puts the x sedan on par with an S coupe in terms of exhaust airflow.

Tiny rust spots from sitting water drops on the tips and muffler, but they come off with a quick steel wool polish. Some colour change on the pipe itself, but no rust really, even after driving 10 k in the winter.
