Control the coyote population and have more deer!!

True, the yotes kill lots of fawns. Personally, I don't shoot or kill any animal that I will not eat. Shot a big male yote once, had huge cojones too. Skinned, processed for the pelt, but didn't eat the meat. I felt bad having taken it's life, but the meat didn't go to waste in the great outdoors. Ravens and other creatures picked the yote carcass clean in 3 days.

For sure! But rather have a clean miss than a poorly shot placement. Thank you for watching & commenting. Best wishes for your endeavors this 2022 fall season.

Are you out in the kofa’s?

I like hunting the KOFA NWR.
KOFA is the toughest, most challenging archery deer hunting in Arizona State!
But also hunt most other southern AZ desert units as well. Which unit is determined by my scouting trips and if I observe a big muley buck.
I go where opportunity for a big 190"+ buck is.

Ever hunt them in velvet? Im thinking of hunting under tucson but a bit hesitant due to snakes... still gunna go cause I want a velvet buck bad!!

Hunted up by Flagstaff for velvet bucks. South of Tucson, Oracle too. But be careful, lots of snakes during early season. In 19 years, I've been struck 2x by rattlers, a green one that never rattled and a black/grey rattler. During stalks, when your direct attention is on stalking the buck. On one 5-day trip in 2008, saw 9 rattlers in GMU36.Thus, haven't hunted Aug-Sept seasons for the past 12 years. Definitely wear snake gaiter protection. I like Turtle Skins, proved my choice 2x and these worked!

Go prepared to take care of velvet immediately in that early season heat. The injection type is best but there is a spray-on preserve that helps before you get to a taxidermist.

Looks exactly like the country I hunt only on the west side of the Colorado! Always tough with a bow.

bowhunting muley bucks in this habitat is very challenging...and very rewarding when successful. Good luck to you as well.

14 days out in that desert is a long time! Your a lot more ambitious than I am.
Once ask a fellow living in Wikiup why the donkey's were so wild?
    THEY MAKE GOOD BURRITOS!

I had extended trip to 20 days, as major rut activity kicked in on day 12. "Burritos"...Now that's a funny!

You've seen great bucks. That is hard territory to bowhunt.

Very challenging to bow hunt, but I love it. Area had some rain last spring, good summer monsoons, much better than past years. Which results in more good bucks over 160" score.
