State Land access with a hunting license allows you to only travel through. If you camp/park your truck you should really have an annual permit. It costs $15-16 a year. You put it on your windshield when you leave your vehicle and all is well. I went through this last year with the Game and Fish, their advice is if you are going to park or stay overnight you need to get a permit. FYI. I always thought a license was adequate but some friends got harassed by a County Deputy (he threatened to cite them, got ugly).
good to know. No one in the field has mentioned this before. Not even the AZ game enforcement guys who've checked me in the past. I'll look into this pass for AZ State Trust lands, thank you. Geez, not much is free to recreation anymore...
this scouting day was in 37B. Congrats on your buck harvest. I had 2 scouting trips in 37B, before OTC archery deer opened. One trip after Thanksgiving, the other in early December. Never could find a viable water source near my scouting zones.
I am sure you know this, but be careful with that drone to ensure you don't accidentally violate "fair chase" by using forbidden technology. I know you were just showing the countryside for those folks that don't live in Arizona.. "Unmanned aerial vehicles - drones - are aircraft and subject to the same rules as other aircraft, meaning they cannot be used to assist in taking wildlife or locating wildlife during an open season (R12-4-319)" Oh.. I know that mountain!
Thank you. Yes, very aware of drone restrictions, R12-4-319. I use the drone primarily during closed seasons, when no big game hunting season is open. February, March, April are my favorite times to fly the drone. Depending on the unit, sometimes in early December, between big game seasons. This is when I film drone footage to use in future videos. Will need to be more careful with my voice overs, audio descriptions too.
Thanks Mav, I appreciate your lessons!
You're welcome and thank you for watching. Just trying to share some information from my experiences in the outdoors.

Are you hunting in unit 37 A or B? Just harvested my buck in B.

And it's surprising how many game cameras that I stumble upon in my scouting trips too 😕.
