This is honestly one of my favorite episodes, mostly because of the shoe gag near the end, also the Strangler is voiced by Thomas F. Wilson who played Biff in Back to the Future

I think it's thought/theorized that bob knew the whole time that the strangler was in disguise. I mean, if he did, it's not hard to see how he didn't know that the strangler was wearing a disguise, all the strangler was wearing was a fake mustache, its not like he completely changed his clothes.

I think this is evident in the scene where he says “no problem, strangler- I mean bodyguard” and with the invitations he sent all his friends
Plus why else was there no audio when he was running around explaining. He told them about the party and when he was done acting scared with his body language he told them to freak out cause he knew The Strangler was watching. Spongebob knew! So did everyone else! They had his back!

A serial killer that everyone in Bikini Bottom is *terrified* of. How many people has he even strangled to death by this point? Pretty spooky.

Don't you find it strange that everyone are happy in the room despite the fact that the Tattletale Strangler is there in plain sight. I have a little theory about this... What if... the people of Bikini Bottom got the idea from Spongebob's obliviousness and the Strangler's struggle would give them a chance to make him snap? After every tough guy ran away after SpongeBob asked for help to defend him from the Strangler, that must've had spread word to everyone in Bikini Bottom and must've been concerned for him and wanted to help somehow. But because they are scared of him, they couldn't go near him without a 100 foot pole. They must have seen SpongeBob falling for an obvious disguise and thinking: "Oh no! He's going to be strangled!" But as they continued to watch SpongeBob and the Strangler together and witnessed how he was able to get on his nerves. Not to mention, getting hurt from the CLEETS. This showed a weak point for the people to strike back. Think about it, everyone didn't budged or looked scared during all those times they threw a "party." And whenever the Strangler is an itch close to strangle SpongeBob, they quickly run in and threw another party as if nothing happened. I believe they were hiding somewhere in the house watching to make sure SpongeBob didn't get strangled and kept a straight face while pretending they don't know the Strangler's there. Even after admitting to SpongeBob that HE IS THE STRANGLER. Because they knew he was at his breaking point. I also like to think Squidward threw in a subtle jab at him by going "Did someone say party?" XD
