Took me forever to realize, the last three things Krabs had before the armor and paddleball were to prevent several things synonymous with being scared. Pants tied in a Melvin knot = “scared the pants off of him” Shivering timber brace = “Shiver me timbers” Hairs taped down = “Hairs standing on end”
Considering how _lots_ of adults can relate to him (including me), watching him genuinely having fun is satisfying in itself. Even in the _Pranks A Lot_ episode.
Fun Fact: After this episode, they had to halt on making more episodes and ending Season 3 altogether, to make and release The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie in 2004.
That was because originally, Nick wanted to cancel the series in favor of making a movie, which Stephen Hillenburg was against at first. He felt a movie wouldn't work with a character that had 11 minute episodes until he watched Toy Story and The Iron Giant. (Both movies about characters going through an existential journey within himself and embracing who they are at the end to save the ones they loved.) And it was because of the movie that convinced Nickelodeon to keep making the show, but Stephen Hillenburg had second thoughts of continuing the series, and decided to work on other projects.
There are some good episodes after this but this is classic SpongeBob. Stephen let it keep going because Nick wanted to and he still had some good ideas. These last three seasons were some of the greatest tv of my life. Don’t skip season 4. After that it’s up to you.
Yeah so many great episodes in Season 4: Mrs. Puff You're Fired, The Inmates of Summer, Krusty Towers, Mermaidman and Barnacleboy VI, Fear of a Krabby Patty, Skill Crane, The Lost Mattress, Have You Seen This Snail, Dunces and Dragons, Enemy In-Law, Born To Be Wild, and Selling Out, to name a handfull

That is WAY beyond the mark of pranking right there. Just the simple classic pranks like the fake vomit, or the whoopie cushion after someone sits on it to make it feel like someone is cutting the cheese prank will do. But invisible spray paint? Absolutely not. That is more for people who begin flashing something towards someone in a very inexcusable manner, mind you.

I think Spongebob meets the Strangler is tied for my favorite episode with the Manray "thats not my wallet" episode. But I also love that the second part of the episode is Pranks a Lot, another classic full of lines that we repeated all day in elementary school
It isn't instantly bad after the movie, but it gets a lot more hit or miss. There's still plenty of episodes that people consider classics, but a lot more are just mid, and some are genuinely bad.

Keep watching! Season 4 is still good! I'd honestly watch the whole show, there's always good eps. And if you feel like you're not enjoying the episodes you can always skip to Lost in Bikini Bottom from season 9 bc nearly everything past that feels like late season 3/early season 4.
I REALLY hope they keep watching. At least season 4. Season 4 has plenty of great episodes. Not to mention having some of the best specials the series has ever made. The Season 5 premiere "friend or foe" was great, but sadly, the rest of the season isn't quite as good. The show hadn't gotten awful yet, but it wasn't as good as it used to be.
I can’t wait to watch the movie I really like the idea that the first SpongeBob movie takes place after the events of the show completely ends and every season after season three is a prequel to the movie.

I mean, i think watching the movie would be the logical next step. it was really the cap at the end of the golden era of Spongebob. Season 4 was still okay, some of that charm is there, but it does sadly fall off.
There is something I don't get. At 6:17, SpongeBob seems to know his bodyguard is the tattletale strangler, but for most of the rest of the episode, SpongeBob is clueless.
When he said that, im like Oh definitely Spongebob knew the whole time and he is just trolling him to buy more time. I've heard real life victim stories like this. Also, Spongebob has done things like that in Fools in April where he pretends to be depressed and had a lot of his friends and other people to help him in the prank

I mean, i think watching the movie would be the logical next step. it was really the cap at the end of the golden era of Spongebob. Season 4 was still okay, some of that charm is there, but it does sadly fall off.

SpongeBob is secretly a mastermind.
There is something I don't get. At 6:17, SpongeBob seems to know his bodyguard is the tattletale strangler, but for most of the rest of the episode, SpongeBob is clueless.
When he said that, im like Oh definitely Spongebob knew the whole time and he is just trolling him to buy more time. I've heard real life victim stories like this. Also, Spongebob has done things like that in Fools in April where he pretends to be depressed and had a lot of his friends and other people to help him in the prank
