My God, you are the best greatest teacher on earth, I don't know if there is or not anyone else that I know that teaches so clearly in detail, you should be an example to the entire world's education systems this is how everything should be taught , instead of long boring lectures, or reading books that are so hard just to understand what they are trying to tell you, because the way books are written is very official language which I abhor, a simple concept that can take one minute to understand takes hours, because the way these evil books are written , the concepts of science, math and everything else are not hard to learn and are actually fun to learn, if it wasn't for these official languages that are used in all books, I am so sick and tired of them. This is how everything should be taught in all schools. Simple, fun and clear. They should learn from you, you are the best and made a big difference in my life, truly American teachers are the best too at teaching. But offcourse your ways of teaching makes it the 👌 best.
Yes he is he's a really good teacher I didn't know anything about oms, he explained it pretty good at math so I did it in my head, and every answer I got is right, I haven't been in school in 25 years and I'm picking it up right away so he is a really good teacher. 🤔😉✌️
38:47 One of the greatest flubs of the Electronic industry is electron current flow vs hole current flow. In my day, technicians were taught electron and engineering went with hole. If Ben Franklin had guessed right, we wouldn't have this messy confusion. When the truth was discovered, it was by convention to continue using hole flow because too many documents and books gave been written to have them all changed. Makes no difference as long as you are consistent. Science based on facts except hole theory. 😆
At about 34 minutes in you describe the size of a Farad capacitor as being huge or the size of a room. Using standard materials like mica , or even waxed paper (my dad has very old capacitors dating from the 50's) I will agree. However I can buy a 24.6 x 6 mm super capacitor on amazon that is 4 F for $42. I am thoroughly enjoying your lesson and I hope I'm not adding something that, as a professor of mine in college said, "True but that would only confuse the other students at this point". I don't know it all, far from it which is why I am here. Thank you so much for posting these tutorials. I really appreciate it.
It's good to show "real" pictures of the cylindrical, spherical cap, ...etc, just before starting the explanation in order to make this video better than the best. Thanks!
I love the instruction available on here and am trying to learn. It does drive me crazy how half of you draw negative to positive and the other half, positive to negative. But thanks for the content.
These videos are fantastic! I'm having a hard time finding the order of the physics videos. I would like to watch the full length. Can you point me in the right direction?
Positive charges, given the direction of flow before calculations are done, the charging of any capacitor is inversely integrated through the bi-directional flow between two points when the switch is closed. In all cases, regardless if dealing with plates or not, specific intervals are always linear, divided by the area of the surface.
I know I'm being pedantic but... a battery is a device that facilitates the flow of electrons, the potential of which is measured in volts, it's not quite true to say is supplies a voltage as a voltage is only a measurement... better to say it provides the potential (difference) to facilitate electron flow...
Great stuff. But, most cylindrical capacitors are actually flat capacitors rolled up. How does that apply when you have a positive charged plate on both sides of a negatively charged plate? Also dielectric constants need to be applied to the formulas considering material between the plates and between the layers of the roll.
I liked his vidoes they had very good explanation of analyzing complicated circuits, however I feel it lacks an explanation and exercises on circuits with BJT or MOSFETS. Resistors, Capacitors, Inductors, RC/LC circuits, OP AMP, but no transistors
when you talked about capacitors and the two medal plates that do not touch that are parallel in outter space it reminds me of the casimir 👾🤖 are they the same?effect
Yes! Years ago I was fumbling with an old color TV I found and I didn't know anything about capacitors and it was unplugged so I thought it was safe...I touched the wrong thing and it shocked the dickens out of me! Had to be a cap and it had been unplugged for years!
I’m confused by one thing, once the switch is closed how do electrons flow considering the capacitor is effectively an open circuit because of the dielectric in between. What’s pushing the electron is effectively an open circuit?
Plates of the capacitor is charged positive and negative charges if I removed the capacitor . While I reconnect is it necessary to see the same plates to be connected with positive and negative. If it is so if I don't what will happen please explain sir
sir can you solve my this problem. Any one can solve so please help me An 8µF capacitor is connected in series with05M ohm resistor across a 200 volts DC supply. calculate: (a) The time constant. b)the initial charging current. (c) the time taken for the potential difference across the capacitor to grow to 160 volts (d) \the current and the p.d across the capacitor 4s after it is connected to supply.
When an electron moves in a given direction it is mathematically exactly the same as considering an imaginary positive charge moving in the opposite direction of the electron flow. So in electric circuit to the electrons which are negatively charged are actually what is physically moving, but when we write equations we often write them in terms of an imaginary positive charge which moves in the opposite direction to the electron flow. This is really just a mathematical convenience but it is very common in physics and engineering to write the equations this way.
@@MathAndScience I know but you really talk like there is a positive charge. Here at 28:11 you literally say the plate charges up with positive coulombs. It doesn't really do that, right?
Yes and no. One plate is negative because excess electrons are piling up there. The other plate is positive because less electrons are there, they went around to pile up in the other plate. So the plate with positive charge is positive because less electrons are there. Remember the nucleus is positive, so if we have fewer electrons then we still have the protons in the nucleus behind, making that plate slightly more positive.
@@MathAndScience I thought that electric current through a wire only occurs with electrons not ions, no? You make it seem like we're talking about ions and not simply electrons. If we were dealing with ions, I would understand what you mean since you can have a positively charged ion i.e. cation if an atom has more protons than electrons. But, as I said, I thought we were only dealing with electrons when talking about a current through a wire. Is that not correct?
Question...if the smallest capacitor ie... 0-1...is hooked to a capacitor slightly bigger and releases into a chain using this basis...to where last ones huge and is powered say with a perpetual magnet generator...it will have a delay yet if the last ones massive and then theres say 6 of these capacitor bundles are stacked together....for a constant voltage...then theres 1000s of these capacitor systems...wouldnt it provide cheaply massive units of power....

I do appreciate your teaching ,to inlight the world and destroy property and suffering .this is God in his practical form
An extremely great tutorial. Sure, you repeated things a bit, but that helped me understand it more. Very grateful, sir.
Also, grateful the teacher doesn't go off in a tangent telling their stories like many of my electronic teachers back in the day. 😆

Hint: plus sign consistent of 2 lines and together they make long line while minus sign contains only single line and thus is shorter 🙂
What is the work of the Capacitor?

@@MathAndScience So, the positive plate in a capacitor gets its charge because the atoms that make up the metal of the positive plate lose electrons?
