Even as an older person who is not hugely into rap, I can appreciate Ren and this song. It makes my heart ache that this young man seems to have been through so much pain and sadness so early in his life. From some of his other songs I have listened to here, he seems to be in a better place. At least I pray that is the case. And Ray - being able to go somewhere deep into the forest, or down by the stream (Oliver Anthony) and just sitting and absorbing the wonders of nature and the miracles visible there can be so magical. Just looking at Creation all around you and absorbing the peace and calmness. Think I'm gonna go do that tomorrow. Love you guys. KP
Melanie Safka sings "Do You Believe". She just passed away on Jan. 23rd at the age of 76. Beautiful voice. This is one of my favorite Ren songs.
She passed away? ... Oh my ... I started following her FB page and I must have missed that announcement... May she rest easy and sing with the angels 🙏

The song/sample (at the beginning) you're trying to remember is "Do You Believe" by Melanie from 1972. Wu-Tang Clan also used it in one of their tracks.

@@SPierced Sorry, what I meant was that you said that Wu-Tang Clan used the sample on one of their tracks. They did not. Phoniks sampled Melanie in this beat, which he used in a remix of a Wu-Tang Clan song. Wu-Tang Clan themselves had nothing to do with it.
This track is so underrated by so many. Spot on it’s an absolute classic.

Thank you Ray for your reaction and encouraging words. Sometimes our thoughts can cause us to spiral into a dark place and it's difficult to find a way out. I agree that getting outside and taking a walk can help. I know if I start to feel overwhelmed from being surrounded with negativity I try to get outside to speed walk or run and it helps alot. Just getting outside and feel fresh air for awhile might be very helpful also try to think about what we have to be grateful about in our lives. Thank you Ray for another insightful reaction. ❤
