I played this in my high-school band and I was 1st clairenet & listening to this still brings back the same great feeling I had back then & the hard work ❤ was definitely worth it 😊
I played this song on Tuba as well, though it was six years ago, in my senior year. Stands to this day as my high schools best performance, and my favorite song I ever played. Truly an inspirational and fun piece of music.
We performed this song in competition! It's such a beautiful piece, but it takes a LOT of practice to get it right. I thought we didn't do as good as we should have but the judges apparantly thought we did great cause we got almost a perfect score (97%)
My middle school band is playing this for the Spring Concert in May. We are doing pretty good in rehearsing this song. The hardest part is the percussion.
I bet we're in the same marching band Goldsnare96 :) Either that, or it's a huge coincidence! I'm so excited for this show it's gonna be absolutely phenomenal! -3
@Shayla Sadowski I played this song in my senior year of high school, as the tuba handling the duet with the flute, so I perfectly understand how you feel. But do not be scared. Rather, embrace the part. Know that you were selected for the solo above the other trumpets. You were asked to do something that only those who CAN be trusted will be able to do. This is not something to be scared of, but PROUD of. Take that pride, and use it to give your solo flight. Take pride in the trust, and you cannot fail. You will be the most spectacular trumpet player in your band once you play the solo part, and people will applaud you. Does this lessen the other trumpets? No, not necessarily, all the instruments are important in a band. But if you believe you can be fantastic, and let that erase your fears, there is nothing you cannot play.
Shayla Sadowski Always happy to help, especially with something I feel is the truth. Let the pride, the sheer joy of playing such a magnificent part shine through you on your way to greatness. And pass along this inspiration you find, help more people find the passion you discover. Pass it on to anyone who desires the same.
@Shayla Sadowski although i wasn't a wind player my freshman year when my high school band this, i was in percussion and i couldn't really read well, next thing you know i was expected to play concert toms and slap stick. XD my friend had to move his head as he played the bass drum in the direction of the toms to play. Good luck though we are musicians we strive, learn, and over come obstacles by practice.
Jack of all trades is a good thing to be. My band career has ended sadly. I jut record music, compose drum line music, and produce. Without concert band i wouldn't have the knowledge i have now. Keep up the good work.
