Cant't put in to words how happy I am for Ben to have done this. As a very below par climber, I lived off "The Real Thing". I must have watched it 200 times (no exageration). Cheers Ben. You, Jerry & Ron. My holy trinity of climbing.
I am 56 years old and did some climbing 30 years ago. What a great time it was!! Watching these climbing videos makes me wanna start again! Somehow if gives me positive energy!
How? How? I was climbing the same years as Ben. I struggled back then to get to E1 on a route, and could knock out maybe 6b on a boulder on a good day (old money), whilst he was putting up E9’s and suspected E10’s. Now, he’s doing this, and I’m struggling with 2 flights of stairs 😂
If Ben can get back at his age then maybe its not too late for me.... I'd love to get back into climbing, however 2 stone heavier and 10 years older than when I packed in........
Did you ever Come back, I was 3 stone heavier and 3 years off after covid but half way to being back to my level and I am appreciating it all so much more, I’ve never been so motivated and feel like although I’ll hit 40 in December that I’ll be back stronger and more mentally prepared then I ever was in the past.
Just got back into climbing after a 16 year break at age 46. It's inspirational to see climbers like Ben still pushing boundaries.

I love that there is no music dubbed over the top of you climbing, great video
Indeed, that was a great stylistic choice.
Top effort Ben. Nice to hear the birdsong and the only scream is in triumph at the end. Smooth Operator!

First 9a in the UK?
First one in the world was Action Directe.
There is some debate over whether Hubble was 8C+ or 9a. I'm in no position to comment!
Ben Moon established the first 9a? Ok… brits making their own history I guess
9A: bouldering. 9a: lead.
