@@D_Ella1269 We have seen a bunch of shots with three reflections so i think it might be a matter of they are foreshadowing a 3rd and that’ll be a thing for a possible season 2.

Yea it seemed like the moment where they needed to reinforce that he’s the villain just in case his justifications were fooling the audience. He clearly doesn’t actually value human life or justice, it’s just window dressing to indoctrinate his followers
Steven is clearly going to be the moral center of Moon Knight, with Marc being the less moral guy willing to go the extra step when they need to. I suspect Jake (the third personality we were only given the slightest hints to) is less moral than either of them but he's more coniving and intellegent and while he's absolutely willing to let people die he doesn't like doing it himself.
FUN FACT: When Steven Grant aka Mr. Knight and Marc Spector aka Moon Knight are in scenes together Oscar Isaac Hernandez Estrada is acting against his real life brother, Michael Benjamin Hernandez during them, well he switches between roles.
You could go frame by frame for most of that chase sequence all the way through him catching the Moon Blade back and it's just like "That's a poster. That's a poster. That's a wallpaper. That's a poster." and I absolutely loved how multiple parts of that sequence felt like comic book panels.
If the mirror scenes are so good, it's because he's talking to his brother! (and then they shot the scene in the opposite direction) Oscar Isaac explained that he asked his brother Michael Benjamin Hernandez, actor and journalist, to play opposite him during these scenes. "It's the closest thing to me on Earth," said Isaac. He would come in and play Steven or Marc. He would even do the accent. So it was really helpful to have someone to play with who is not only a great actor but also shares my DNA." "I would come in and decide which character I was going to play first. Then I'd try to freeze that and I'd give notes to my brother, we'd do the scene, and then we'd switch characters," he explained. The result is in any case bluffing, these scenes of face to face being particularly successful!"
The rooftop chase scene was just... perfection. Pure comic book panels throughout that whole sequence, ending with the hero shot of him reaching up to the sky to catch his moon dart below the crescent moon. Some of the best, most iconic images in recent Marvel projects. (That shot of Khonshu crouching on the rooftop overlooking the vegan foot clan was up there too.) Loved how they handled Mr. Knight. Loved the deep conversations with Marc v. Steven and Steven v. Arthur. Really excited for what I assume will be an action-adventure turn in Egypt.
We are just so lucky to have Oscar Isaac on this show. I never thought he'd have anything to do with Disney after Star Wars. Whoever convinced him to do this show has my gratitude.

In the first episode one of the guards mentions to Harrow that they were attacked at a deal, so he probably never had the scarab and was just about to get it off of someone but then Marc stopped it

At some point I think Marc will need to reconcile that Steven only came into being (I assume) because of the trauma he's gone through. I think you're right about them needing to become "friends", aka not Marc trying to suppress Steven, his trauma. Hope I made sense.

He's an icon, he's a legend and he is the moment. Amazing performance and my favorite aspect of this show (along with the cinematography and music) so far. Steven with the "suit" reminded me of Deadpool... like, the face... the sticks?
I've wondered if the living statue could be Ra Lord of the gods and the Ennead. The golden skin that Ra has when he's in human form and he shines bright like a Sun god. The monocle could represent the sun disk his symbol and its only one eye as in the "Eye of Ra" the eye that sees all, mortal and immortal. And his silence just listening is what Ra did with mortals. In the Egyptian mythology anyway.
i've seen enough tv to know that all things could have a purpose beyond their obvious role - in this case, giving steven a vehicle to exposit.. but, dammit, i completely missed this choice! **curtsies low with respect** i f*cks wid it (as the kids say these days)
if you havent read the comics and want to go in blind this could be interpreted as a spoiler - - - - - - the living statue is credited as being crawley at the end of the show; in the comics, crawley was a homeless man that befriended jake lockley (one of marc's other alters) and helped him keep tabs on what was going on in the streets.
The way I did a full-body FLINCH at Adam’s comment about the scarab & knew exactly what he was referring to, even before Jay said “The Mummy has traumatized an entire generation of people”… 😂 I’m from South Korea y’all, and I’ve watched that movie only like twice back when I was very, very young. But yes… it changed the way I perceive scarabs in Egypt forever. Very lovely.
So far, they're doing the right formula with this one! --letting us see the "origin" of the character through the newer alter's eyes, so we're on the ride with him. Very clever. And they really ramped it up this episode. With this pacing, I think we're gonna be seeing some hella action from here on out. The editing, cinematography, plot, pacing: all top-notch right now. I think the culture needed this little Marvel boost.
It really didn’t take me long to get invested in Moon Knight. What an awesome character. The entire concept of Egyptian gods, to his multiple personality’s. So good!
I actually just caught up on Stephen Colbert where Oscar Isaac is a guest. He said that he acted along side his brother during those scenes. Oscar mention his brother put on a false nose to match his. But still those scenes are epic!
You guys are killing it! I haven't seen a comment about it, so I want to let Jay know that "Where-ub/Scare is the Where-ub" is as perfect a portmanteau-as-joke as I have ever heard. I re-watched that part of the the video multiple times just to enjoy that moment unfold in real time.
I hate how charismatic Arthur is. When he was talking with Steven while walking down the street I was like yes, may I join this cult? Marvel has been absolutely killing it with the grey characters lately. And I love how there were a few shots where it looked like Steven was actually making Arthur question his beliefs “Enjoy the Shadow Realm” I’ve been watching Yu-Gi-Oh again lately so all these references are 👌🏻 I’m watching all the ancient Egyptian content
Definitely Oscar Isaacs best performance of all time! And I’m a HUGE Moon Knight fan of the comics, and I’m loving every second of this show. And I love how they’re making Marc/Stevens story in a new direction than the comics. The story is different, different characters, different setting, but honestly, that’s what I love about it. And I like how Marvel is pushing away from comic story’s like Infinity War and Civil War and literally telling a brand new story in a brand new way. I can’t wait for what they have in the future!
Totally with you on the Mom thing. My Mom does like some fantasy, superhero stuff, but she loved the first episode of Moon Knight. And my Dad was like, "It was ok". Lol.
The editing & the way they shot some of these scenes, along with Oscar Isaac’s performance just makes it look so incredible. I’m thoroughly enjoying this show thus far without even knowing anything about the Character beforehand, it’s just so cool.
Point: Harrow DIDN'T have the scarab. Last episode one of the minions told Harrow that the "exchange" had been interrupted and that two of their men were killed. So Harrow was apparently buying the scarab from someone else and Marc showed up during the exchange and took it.
It will be interesting to see if they have a turmoil of Steven coming to terms with the fact it kinda isnt HIS body and HIS life its Marc's Marc was the original theres a trail of marc's life but steven probably wouldnt actually remember anything concrete past him working at the gift shop. I like how they are being up front that Khonshu is not a good person. also it may just be me but i think the crescent moons that show at the end of the episodes are filling up idk i'd have to watch it back.
Oscar Isaac's younger brother is whom he is talking back to on the show to make it look like he is having a dialogue with himself. He talked about it in an interview.
After watching your reactions from compilations of reactions to episodes of Mandalorian and Boba Fett I had to come over and watch the whole thing and you guys do not disappoint 😂
Seems like Steven will hopefully develop into a cerebral 'detective' Knight character with Marc as the brawny Moon Knight character. Caught the Global Repatriation Council (GRC from FaWS) ad on the side of the London double-decker bus placing this show post the FaWS show! Looking forward to Benson & Moorhead who directed this episode & Ep 4 directing Loki S2! QR Code to Moon Knight Comics was a nice touch - this type of Easter Egg should be incorporated as organically as possible into other MCU movies & shows!
Detective Knight as you called him is referred to as Mr Knight in the comics and he's basically still Marc/Moon Knight but in a nice suit and currently heads the Midnight Mission. :)
The timeline order on Disney Plus has Moon Knight after Hawkeye so it’s sometime in 2025 while Falcon and Winter Soldier was spring 2024. After the blip, it’s probably going to take a long time for things to get figured out and have some sense of normalcy again.
Harrow used the wording "Fist of Vengeance"...I immediately thought of "Spirit of Vengeance" aka Ghost Rider. But the thing is they need to introduce Mephisto before Ghost Rider pops up.. My favorite anti-hero ever!! I know they are heading towards Mephisto and hence Ghost Rider but dude i cant wait for him to show up!! He is so powerful and badass characters ever!
26:31 -- The thing about judging someone for what they're about to do, it comes down to their present integrity, ethics, urges, and intentions about harming others or committing atrocities. For example, if a would be murderer is presented with the full facts of his original future, and understands not only what happened but why...would he be 'willing' to make a permanent change so that he no longer feels the urge? Or would he be 'unwilling' to change because its whom he wishes to be. -- Execution should only be a last resort if that person is having present urges to act, and there are no other effective incentives to encourage change or deterrents to protect the would be victims.

At some point I think Marc will need to reconcile that Steven only came into being (I assume) because of the trauma he's gone through. I think you're right about them needing to become "friends", aka not Marc trying to suppress Steven, his trauma. Hope I made sense.
"Slow red... make it squishy" (yaaas, Foghat). Also my mind: "I mean it's crazy. What? We finish each other's... Sandwiches!". Guyssss, I love this kind of "moments" 💖 jajajaja.
13:46 Me: He's Midsommar-ing him!
Looove some Edna Mode reference 😆
Oscar Isaac Hernández Estrada... chef's kiss. He's an icon, he's a legend and he is the moment. Amazing performance and my favorite aspect of this show (along with the cinematography and music) so far.
Steven with the "suit" reminded me of Deadpool... like, the face... the sticks?
He had his brother work as his double for line reads.
**curtsies low with respect** i f*cks wid it (as the kids say these days)
if you havent read the comics and want to go in blind this could be interpreted as a spoiler

the living statue is credited as being crawley at the end of the show; in the comics, crawley was a homeless man that befriended jake lockley (one of marc's other alters) and helped him keep tabs on what was going on in the streets.
I'M SO EXCITED FOR JAY, he's FINALLY going to see why LUCIFER is a REALLY FUN SHOW. I HOPE the reaction will be on You Tube.
So good!
This show is so good. Definitely becoming my favorite Disney + show yet
Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free
"We´re the Foot Clan and we don´t take no Shiitake"... I´ll see myself out.
I hate how charismatic Arthur is. When he was talking with Steven while walking down the street I was like yes, may I join this cult?
Marvel has been absolutely killing it with the grey characters lately. And I love how there were a few shots where it looked like Steven was actually making Arthur question his beliefs
“Enjoy the Shadow Realm” I’ve been watching Yu-Gi-Oh again lately so all these references are 👌🏻 I’m watching all the ancient Egyptian content
Lol.
“It’s like if the foot clan was vegan.”
Jay is always funny, but this line made me chuckle longer than normal 😂
Notice how Harrow didn’t bother judging that man with the scarab. He took it and went straight to killing him.
That right there shows that Harrow is not the good guy he thinks he is.
The editing & the way they shot some of these scenes, along with Oscar Isaac’s performance just makes it look so incredible.
I’m thoroughly enjoying this show thus far without even knowing anything about the Character beforehand, it’s just so cool.
"Its like if the foot clan was vegan" lmaoo bruh
Some people are saying if you listen closely he says “shut the fuck up” while kicking the mirror
Just so you guys know, those are crocodiles because African doesn't have alligators.
Alexander Cobb (JB the security guard) reminds me of Simon Peg.
First thought after watching this episode "Did I just have an eyegasm?"
Point: Harrow DIDN'T have the scarab. Last episode one of the minions told Harrow that the "exchange" had been interrupted and that two of their men were killed. So Harrow was apparently buying the scarab from someone else and Marc showed up during the exchange and took it.
The music at the end slapped. I did not understand the words, I was bopping along.
"You won't like me when I'm...kinda sad"
"Welcome to the MCU!"
What should have followed is a "The Incredible Skulk" joke. Missed opportunity! 😂
im really ....realllllllllllly liking the moon-knight costume 😍❤🔥 wewe wewe wewe wewe 😉
The whole time during both episodes with the mirrors is just as good as William Dafoe in Spiderman. I can't even. The show is so good.
It will be interesting to see if they have a turmoil of Steven coming to terms with the fact it kinda isnt HIS body and HIS life its Marc's Marc was the original theres a trail of marc's life but steven probably wouldnt actually remember anything concrete past him working at the gift shop. I like how they are being up front that Khonshu is not a good person. also it may just be me but i think the crescent moons that show at the end of the episodes are filling up idk i'd have to watch it back.
pleasantly surprised at how good and fun moon knight is.
If you though mark and steven were intetesting wait until you see his other personalities. Rich bruce wayne guy and peaky blinder gangster guy
Scan the QR code on Marc’s storage locker. You get a free surprise.
I went into this one totally blind and I'm so glad I did. Know nothing about the Moon Knight story so this one is fun
Oscar Isaac's younger brother is whom he is talking back to on the show to make it look like he is having a dialogue with himself. He talked about it in an interview.
Your intro song still gets me moving.
Also: now I want coooo-ooookiecrisp
The Foot Clan line and following bit. *Chef's Kiss*
Pulls open the curtains and gives Oscar Isaac PTSD from X-Men Apocalypse
One out of One Steve-o's Super Punch delight. :D Loved it.
@@EricRatcliffeNewcomicday Yeah they've chosen to give that role/development to the Steven character in the show which works for me :)
The timeline order on Disney Plus has Moon Knight after Hawkeye so it’s sometime in 2025 while Falcon and Winter Soldier was spring 2024. After the blip, it’s probably going to take a long time for things to get figured out and have some sense of normalcy again.
@@AllInTheGame01 I still love that they went full spawn with the costume. It's such a strong visual decision.
Takes place after Hawkeye. The GRC won’t just finish doing their thing in a couple of months. It will be a long term problem
Actually, the Watchmen Comic did the "why capes are bad" before The Incredibles.
Glass is made out of sand so in a way they're both stepping on sand every day
Harrow used the wording "Fist of Vengeance"...I immediately thought of "Spirit of Vengeance" aka Ghost Rider. But the thing is they need to introduce Mephisto before Ghost Rider pops up.. My favorite anti-hero ever!! I know they are heading towards Mephisto and hence Ghost Rider but dude i cant wait for him to show up!! He is so powerful and badass characters ever!
I'm still unsure, is Agents of Shield canon? If so then we've two Riders.
Wait?!?! Adam referenced Dresden?!? How did I not know he was a Dredenphile..... Yup. This cements my love for y'all
Oh, we both are. Jay’s read them all 3 times.
Loved the end credits and the appropriate music selection hope it continues
26:31 -- The thing about judging someone for what they're about to do, it comes down to their present integrity, ethics, urges, and intentions about harming others or committing atrocities. For example, if a would be murderer is presented with the full facts of his original future, and understands not only what happened but why...would he be 'willing' to make a permanent change so that he no longer feels the urge? Or would he be 'unwilling' to change because its whom he wishes to be. -- Execution should only be a last resort if that person is having present urges to act, and there are no other effective incentives to encourage change or deterrents to protect the would be victims.
"A lot of people's moms like this show."
*stares at Oscar Isaac* I wonder why...
I loved this episode. I don't understand why some youtubers didn't like it, of course the first one was a boom but this was amazing, maybe because I love expository episodes.
Mama Lashy coming in clutch with the info!
I have to say, I'm in love with this show's music. The last scene in Egypt just gave me chills.
