I installed HH 540-35T with stock 15T pinion using Hobbywing 1080 G2 Esc. The Phoenix is way too slow on 3S. Way too slow. Any suggestions for a little more speed? Or should I change motor with something like 27 or 21T? Thanks again.
If you want speed your going with the wrong truck. Portals do nothing for speed. You could go with a 540-8T for speed or cange your pinyon and spur gear to a faster combination also adjust your esc for more punch

I hope you like removing the battery tray and transmission 100 times then to change your motor. One of my gripes about this truck.
It's all part of the fun.
You should get the aluminum standoffs as well.
Eventually I will replace the whole trany with aluminum.
Can I use a 550 motor?
