I wish I could articulate how much this bands music means to me. Cloud Cult gives me so much beauty, feeling, raw emotion and love. They are the soundtrack to my life.
I just found this band not more than 2 weeks ago. It's 2019. I can't get enough of their music. listen to it everyday now! Sorry for all the years I missed listening to them, but grateful for finally finding them. They are definitely and extra kind of special!! Love you guys and gals and ALL of your music!!! You have been a blessing to my ears!
Such good lines shared. and: "We grew up believing good wins over bad, So you gave away your heart but the wolves attacked. (But then a bigger heart grew back)" A bigger heart grew back.... wow. Like Leonard Cohen's line in Anthem, about "a crack in everything - that's how the light gets in" -- I know now that it's also how the light gets back into the world, refined and focused and humanized through our cracks and brokenness, and NO HELL is another example of that grace and aching beauty captured in their songs. So many Cloud Cult lyrics break my heart wide open. It's hard to even describe or recite them for someone without tears. The songs tap into a collective unconscious soul we can all feel and know to be true, and so so needed in our world. I describe Cloud Cult to friends as 21st Century Quantum Gospel Music & Poetry (Gospel in this phrase meaning simply Good, VERY Good News...). :-)
Cloud cult perfectly describes how I feel about myself and life. I appreciate you all so much. I relate so much of your music to my mental illnesses. Your my favorite band hands down.
GREAT lyrics! "Someone tell the devil we don't need no hell/We're all pretty good at beating up ourselves." "We grew up believing we could learn how to fly/We came up on the earth but belong to the sky."
"No Hell" Mama said the stars are the universe's eyes I can feel them watching over me most of the time We grew up believing we could learn how to fly We came from the earth, but we belong to the sky I saw your soul without the skin attached You've got the guts of a coyote pack We've been kissed, we've been cut But we do what needs the doing We're just rainbows dreaming we're human Please excuse the lights shooting out of my head I keep them in a cage but they come out when they see a friend You must be a friend You're never really gonna have control of it all So you best get cool with your chips are gonna fall We are the sun And mother's milk And cuss words And poetry And there's no use in running unless you run like heck The best things we've learned we learned from the wreck Jesus coming back as a woman this time Handing out hugs in the clinic line And someone tell the devil we don't need no hell We're all pretty good at beating up ourselves As kids we believed that the angels talked Everything is magic until you think it's not It's easy to be thankful for the things you've got It takes guts to give thanks for the things you've lost And we grew up believing good wins over bad So you gave away your heart, but the wolves attacked But then a bigger heart grew back Please excuse the words coming out of my mouth I'm a happy man but there's some things I need to get out I need to get out There's no use in running unless you run like heck The best things we've learned we learned from the wreck Jesus coming back as a woman this time Handing out hugs in the clinic line Someone tell the devil we don't need no hell We're all pretty good at beating up ourselves
With every song released I have more respect and more love for your music and for your openness as a musician and especially as a human who is willing to share EVERYTHING that is in their heart. This song is stunning, the video is really compelling, and I'm left feeling more fully who I am just from one listening. Just..wow!
There is this weird sensation of unity I have with this song. It is something I share with at least over 80,000 people with different lives, from all around the world, and different ages. Some might be crying now, some might be smiling around their family, others peacefully asleep, and some might already passed away. But I know that whoever they are, and wherever they are, we all heard this song's tunes, lyrics, and all interpreted and took away from it something that affected our lives in their own ways. Perhaps even hum it to ourselves every now and then. It is a very strange connection to have with thousands of people from around the world, but it is at most tangible here. Listening to this song, reading their comments, and knowing that wherever they are, at some point in their lives, listened to the same song we are all listening to. Perhaps right now, a week, months or years ago. I'll describe this feeling as empathy overload. Something only this and a select number of songs can really ignite within me.
Thank You Cloud Cult! Thank You For The Raw Emotion And Prophetic Lyrics! Each Of Your Songs Exude An Immense Amount Of Human Magic And They Certainly Get My Toe A Tappin'! Thank You Soooooo MUCH! You Are All BEAUTIFUL!
Man, I'm still pretty speechless after about 20 listens this weekend. Eric B said it beautifully below. Craig and all of you in Cloud Cult: please keep on keeping on. You're a light in this world. Thank you all so much. $25 pre-order in. This is gonna be fun...
Can you guys pretty please come to Virginia? I want to see y'all live so bad!!! You're music changed my life for the better in so many ways. Much love!
you havent been around to see me, you're gone. you will never hurt me again, you're out of my life. you changed me, forced me to grow, if only you knew. just how beautiful i blossomed. just how wonderful i became. just how deeper i breathe. without you.
Simply lovely. A song that has truly gotten into my head from the first listening and has made me do much reevaluating how I reac tolife. That's the most any song can do.
The lyrics bring a realization to people like myself. I've never heard such things said in such a way that it only makes you yearn for more. An honest way of thinking, and spiritual, such heartfelt talent and truth.

"We're just rainbows dreaming we're human..." Gosh, that line is terrific! Such a great song--it only gets better the more times I listen to it!
+Maddie Bernard it is a very powerful lyric indeed.....it takes guts to give thanks for the things you've lost......that too .........
Wow!! "Its guts to give thanks for the things you've lost" What a powerful sentence that is!!!!! Wow just wow!
"No Hell"
Mama said the stars are the universe's eyes
I can feel them watching over me most of the time
We grew up believing we could learn how to fly
We came from the earth, but we belong to the sky
I saw your soul without the skin attached
You've got the guts of a coyote pack
We've been kissed, we've been cut
But we do what needs the doing
We're just rainbows dreaming we're human
Please excuse the lights shooting out of my head
I keep them in a cage but they come out when they see a friend
You must be a friend
You're never really gonna have control of it all
So you best get cool with your chips are gonna fall
We are the sun
And mother's milk
And cuss words
And poetry
And there's no use in running unless you run like heck
The best things we've learned we learned from the wreck
Jesus coming back as a woman this time
Handing out hugs in the clinic line
And someone tell the devil we don't need no hell
We're all pretty good at beating up ourselves
As kids we believed that the angels talked
Everything is magic until you think it's not
It's easy to be thankful for the things you've got
It takes guts to give thanks for the things you've lost
And we grew up believing good wins over bad
So you gave away your heart, but the wolves attacked
But then a bigger heart grew back
Please excuse the words coming out of my mouth
I'm a happy man but there's some things I need to get out
I need to get out
There's no use in running unless you run like heck
The best things we've learned we learned from the wreck
Jesus coming back as a woman this time
Handing out hugs in the clinic line
Someone tell the devil we don't need no hell
We're all pretty good at beating up ourselves
I've been hearing this song on 89.3 the Current here in Minnesota, I just had to look it up when I heard the lyrics, seriously great stuff.
