Cladding Crisis Claims First Leaseholder To Declare Bankruptcy - BBC News - 28/1/21

Three and a half years after the Grenfell fire, the majority of blocks identified with dangerous cladding are still unsafe. Leaseholders are having to pay thousands of pounds in the meantime for fire safety patrols and other temporary measure. Sarah Corker has been speaking to the first person to declare bankruptcy because of those spiralling costs. This is Hayley’s story.
Twenty-eight-year-old Hayley Tillotson is the first person in the UK believed to have been made bankrupt because of the cladding crisis. She bought her first home in Leeds two years ago but learnt that it was clad with flammable material. Overwhelmed with the extra costs of dealing with the problems, she had to hand back her keys.

The cladding situation does need to be sorted out ideally as soon as possible, again ideally the developers should pay for the upgrade. To be fair in this report it sounds like one of the other major issues for her was that she lost her job so presumably couldn't pay her mortgage.
