Not many people are blessed with common sense! I have enjoyed your instruction, use and description of tools with warnings. Thanks for your help!

Thanks to you and a couple of others with their videos, I had no manual and you guys made it simple. I've changed old BMW and Chevy water pumps but never a newer Mercedes. 2008 GL 450. It was much easier putting it back together than it was to take off because I had no idea what to follow, just start moving things out of the way. Thanks, again.

IO agree with the other 2 comments. Outstanding job and help. I have a E320 and everything on the engine and water pump are identical. Thank you for reminding me to place the 4 types of bolts "schematically" in place on my workbench to remind me of where each one goes into the new. Thanks for the coolant catch as well . I cannot tell you how much you saved me! Thanks again!

Appreciate the walk-through. Managed to complete on my n/a crossfire and helped me save a ton of money.

I might add that my car parts store had two identical water pumps, they were vin specific. Maybe the reason for the unpunched holes that connected the idler pulley. Thanks again for the lesson.

What tool did you use to get the idle wheel off? The only tool I have that seems to fit it is an allen wrench but it keeps slipping and stripping the bolt.

It needs to be a regular socket. either SAE or metric. Since it is a european car I'd assume you need a Metric socket 4m 5m 6m 7m etc.
