Do people wear a bag for the matriculation? To hold phone, etc.? And can we take pictures during it? Also do we get a single photo on matriculation you know like the school ones in front of a white background? I have so many questions haha 😁
Yes, I wore a little bag and you can take loads of pictures queueing and in front of college but I’m not sure about during the actual ceremony, and there were no individual pictures like in school, people just take them of each other xx
@@TheOrdinaryAdventurers That’s great! I recently received an offer from Durham and I’m thinking about making it my firm choice... but I’ve heard a lot Racism and classism exists at Durham, is that something I should be concerned about?
@@richasali6003 Heya! Quite late, but I'm an international student at durham and it's a very lovely city and university! I have never encounter any racism here, and there are quite a lot of international students, especially from China!

Thanks for the video. :) How about non-gowned unis for matriculation? Should we still get a gown?
No, only if it’s specified xx
@@TheOrdinaryAdventurers thanks !!
thanks megan for your advice. I am joining ustinov college shortly, can you please suggest if i need to bring black suit for formals?
Yeah, I'd say just have one nice suit that you can use for formals etc. a black one would be ideal because it'll work for matriculation :)
Durham University seems to be absolutely stunning... Are there many international students or Asian students at Durham?
Yes there’s lots of international students xx

Hi, what about shoes?
There’s not really a dress code for shoes, just whatever but bare in mind the streets are often cobbled so I’d say avoid high heels xx
Knuckle dusters
Ahh what if your college says it isn’t gowned ?? Do you still need one ?
No, I don’t think so, one sec I’ll just check with someone in a non gowned college x
No you won’t need one x
Ignore what the college say, you are a individual,
@@stuartoneill2663 you’ll look like a total asshole wearing a gown in a gownless college but ok
