Played at my uncles funeral a week ago thank you
Many thanks.
This is my favorite musical setting of 23rd Psalm. The words are rearranged from the usual Biblical English language version. To my mind and heart all of this, the music, the organ, and the prayerful poetry of the words, all of it, transport me to a vision of myself prostrate before the throne of God, with this music enveloping me.
It's the metrical version of Psalm 23; technically a paraphrase
What a belter of a tune played on the Cathedral organ with last verse to.
Thanks Martin!
This blessed hymn reminds me of mellow green in green pastures and the Saviours tender, priceless love!
Many Thanks!
The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.
2
My soul He doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E’en for His own name’s sake.
3
Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill;
For Thou art with me, and Thy rod
And staff me comfort still.
4
My table Thou hast furnished
In presence of my foes;
My head Thou dost with oil anoint,
And my cup overflows.
5
Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me,
And in God’s house forevermore
My dwelling-place shall be.
Beautiful music.i love this Crimond version of the 23rd Psalmn .
Words can not described the beauty of this music.
Thank you so much for sharing it.
Glad you enjoy it!

Very well played and it's nice to hear it played as though it's a hymn to be sung at an occasion other than a funeral!
Isn't it amazing what the hymns do for us? Thanks RobChsrles!
Indeed!
Outstanding performance.
Thanks!
Thanks again Rob for your lovely playing of inspiring hymns. I trust all is well for you over in Wales these days. Our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus bless you , Bruce
No Prob Bruce, Thanks.
Absolutely wonderful, Thank you very, very much for posting it I love it
Thanks for watching!
Rob this is a really beautiful hymn that you play so beautifully. During a time in my life back in the 90,S when I was having some medical issues and needed alot of rest The Lord used this hymn to minister to me and comfort me as I rested. Listening to your beautiful playing of this hymn brings back memories of the comfort I received from The Lord during this time and gives me courage to continue looking to The Lord during times like this as well as all other times. Also it reminds me of the time in the near future that I will have opportunity to minister to others in need
Rob The Lord has made you a real blessing to all of us. Thank you for allowing him to use you in the way that he has used you to bless all of us.
Thanks Pratty.
Well played Rob... @Patty - Your testimony is very encouraging. Always good to see when people speak & write & sing of our Lord’s goodness :)
Well said, my friend.
Lovely sounding organ. You can really hear the bass- with this hymn it requires the feet to move a lot. A fine example and a great traditional hymn I wished people sang in churches more nowadays.
Thanks very much! :-)
That's the #1 hymn of the past ,present and the future.
Thanks.
Loved the entire hymn....ESPECIALLY the final stanza.....Bravo!!!

Hey! I'm 76 at the moment. Didn't have this tune in our hymnal growing up. May 1, 2021.
Rob,
This hymn must be more popular in the UK and other Anglo-based countries, I have never heard this one before in the US. Thank you, I'll have to programme this one Sunday at some point. It's really nice, nicely done, and a lovely instrument.
Its popular every where Daniel, many thanks pleased you enjoyed! :-)
It should be played and sung as often as possible. The first time I ever heard it was not in a church but in the movie, “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.”
