Stop saying “young drivers should” when you’re always showing stuff that NO young driver will be able to Get insured on without spending thousands.
Az Lean 25 years old now. Won’t be able to get insured on this even with 5 years NCB and 7 years driving EXP. still coming out at 3.6k insurance. WELP
I’m 21 and have a 500hp stage 3 Cupra with all my modifications declared and pay £1200 per year... wouldn’t say that’s thousands, I know people with ‘normal cars’ paying the same amount

Thats not a pre face lift. Its a facelift, and no, its ot slower than a golf r. Only thing the golf r is faster at is off the line. On a track the cupra will dish out gaperoni pizza

Just checked how much it would cost me at age 21 to get insurance on one of these. Just the affordable 5 grand, really good for young drivers 🥴🥴🥴 Also the cost of the car is really affordable at 25 grand

Cupra 300 for me was 2800 and a cupra 290 was 1200 and im 17 so you should look at a cupra 290 instad.

I'm 29 an its 3k plus to insure even a GTI cos I live in Liverpool😑 so you can imagine the fun I have insuring my M240I🙃
As a 300 owner i do agree, this thing is at home on b roads, and part of the appeal is also how rare they are, there is 3 r's on my street alone, seeing another cupra is an event

I had one of these, In my review I talked about why I think its better than a Golf R/S3. I just got a second one after swapping it for a diesel for while. Love it, represents great value for money. And I've been able to get insured on it at age 22-24 way cheaper than even an entry level diesel BMW. I definitely think the electric assisted steering is a bit numb on centre like most VAG cars, but the FWD, the diff, and the power make it more characterful than its 4WD counterparts, if a little less capable.
Why is everyone hating on this bloke? Its more affordable than the VW hothatches and Audi etc that what he means by young drivers buy this its like the new EP3 type r for this generation

Depends what you class as young. I'm 24 so consider myself quite young. I can get insurance for around £500-£700 which is decent
I'm 24 and got quoted £3.5k. Living in London is so great, when your not dodging cyclists and mad pedestrians, you're paying TFL and some council just for turning on your engine and then getting it up the arse from insurance companies for good measure.
I would get a cupra over an R mainly because the cupra is more rare , everyone has an R lol

That’s decent, I’m lucky to live in a quiet area and I have a 290 and I paid 750 for the year with elephant (admiral partner) no black box either and I’m 20 with 3 years ncb
Just sold my stage 2 280, these cars onced tuned are a problem for most big power cars 😉

This is a MK3 FL, not a PFL. Also, none of the Cupra's have valved systems. What you heard was the S mode of the DSG making the car idle at 1k as opposite to 750 ish.
I once had a Leon Supacopa. It was a rocket ship. Was quick around the streets but the motorway was where it belonged. It just cruised and ate up the miles. Would've kept up with anything.
I think the Leon is a much better looking car than the Golf. The Golf is a bit bland for me. Tempted to go for one of these but do the TSI engines still suffer with excessive oil consumption? That is the only thing that would put me off. Always worrying that it was going to run dry.
Insurance is actually quite good to be fair
All you young drivers quoting how little your insurance is on these cupras probably live in some village with low crime rates. State your area along with your insurance.

I wouldn’t agree this is really cheap - it’s cheaper than a Golf R, but a 2017 like this one could still set you back 18k. That’s not what I’d call cheap, at least not for young drivers. And that’s before you factor in the insurance cost for an inexperienced driver.
Im 23 and have a 2015 fr leon, there not cheap. So i can only imagine how much more this is.

Yeah "young drivers" should definitely get this car. Especially since it starts at a used price of £15,000, from what I just saw when I looked it up. Also the insurance on it is £7000 for me for the year and I already have a 1 year no claims bonus. I think this is the most ridiculous title Ive seen on a video for a while.
1 years of no claim bonus sounds more like a new driver. Young can be anything under 30.

I don’t get the hype with FWD? If you get too happy with it the car just understeers vs AWD just sticking vs a RWD kicking the rear out with a bit of oversteer to catch
You’ll find AWD actually under steers more so than a FWD. Especially the haldex systems. FWD is lighter than AWD and therefore faster, and more characterful and fun to drive.

This car doesn’t seem to have the black pack. Front grille is always black; nothing to do with black pack.
With black pack, the CUPRA on the rear door should be also in black as well as the chrome rings on the dash.
Murat Küden they changed the black pack. Black pack includes the grill surrounding and black inside the lights + mirrors
Hayden Shears When I bought my Cupra ST 4drive in 2018, the pack included the rear door CUPRA logo in black as well as the chrome rings in the dash and doors. I didn’t like how it looked inside; black pack was too dark for my taste. The only thing i miss was the rear CUPRA logo in black. It could be also country specific; I bought as German spec.

Chris well funnily enough I got a cold air intake as soon as I got it ( going to take that off and replace it with a performance panel filter for not telling the insurance purposes ) and I have recently orderd a straight pipe ( still with the cat just removing middle silencer with straight through to back box ) but I am definitely running factory backbox so it is not to noisy and so it looks visually standard for insurance purposes 🤣
