      @@neilmcguinness4422 but if you don’t lock exposure then any time you move from a bright to a dark area it will try and adjust. It’s videography 101. I lock exposure every time I’m filming and it never happens.

      @@RosskoPeeko It is how the IPhone automatically adjusts exposure that is the issue. It is clumsy and visually poor, whereas with my S23 Ultra for example it is all smooth and seamless and very easy on the eye as it has superior HDR control. If you lock exposure when walking round a car when the light source is behind you for example, wouldn't you have to reset it when you were round the other side of the vehicle facing into the light source?. And try doing this smoothly and seamlessy without a still recording pause feature on an IPhone.

    Great videos, and feel the same pain here too with an 2018 cupra 300. Costco tyres did a great price on mp4s tyres £600 for 4 and found a local mobile mechanic to replace discs and pads, much cheaper that the dealers, saved 100's. My car was a marshalls approved used and found them to be awful with warranty repairs. My had a major service and told the water pump was leaking and needed changing for about £450. Told them it was under warranty (bought extended) and then it became less of an urgency. Took months to get sorted....so complain and escalate straightaway...keep up the great content 👍

    Ive picked up my cupra last week and needed new tyres as it was on original continentals on the rear which were cracking and had new sport contact on the front but ive gone and swapped my pilot sport 4s from my golf which is for sale onto the cupra. Luckily my cupra has done 9k miles so doesn't really need other work other than it being overdue a service. But going to take out an extended warranty for peace of mind like you mentioned

      Yea I know but figured might as well just bite the bullet and have 4 new ones. Not overly keen on brand new up front and 2mm on the rear, wouldn’t want it kicking out on me unexpectedly. With newer cars like this I just have the dealers do the work haha. Plus I’m spending so much time running lately it’s hard to fit in 😂🏃🏻‍♂️

    I bought my Cupra 280 in Jan 2022. Since then I’ve had to get a new battery, timing chain, radiator, nearside front and rear shocks, brake vacuum pressure sensor, suspension level sensor and bracket, boot handle, front wishbone bushes, vanos control gaskets and seal, and oil cap, brake fluid change, tyres all round PS4s, alternator belt, camshaft sensor, major service, DSG service, front brake discs and pads. "light misting of oil" is very common on these. Mine has it. Was told by the place that did my MOT that it's super common and considered almost normal on MQB platform cars.
    Was speaking to a VW technician too who said the same thing.
    Just got front and rear discs and pads for mine in Black Friday sales. Ferodo DS Performance pads and VBT J hook front discs and plain rear discs. £592. So much more than what brakes were on my previous car, a Mk7 Fiesta ST but they're massive in comparison lol. Will get them fitted at some point soon.

    Discs and pads are easily done yourself. Rear will need a diagnostic too to rewind the calipers.
    My 290 came with the same conti sport contact 5 on the rear as yours did (previous owner kindly put PS4S on the front) had the exact same wheel bearing like noise from the rear. Bought some new Michelins for the back, tyre fitted showed me the old cintis had seriously delaminated on the inside and the inner sidewalls had cracked from the inside out.

Not bad for 122k miles. I don’t drive hard though and it’s definitely not a hot hatch but I was still impressed with how well my brakes lasted. Many congrats again on the 15K subs. Very interesting around tyre costs. My Golf R has 18" cadiz wheels and it costs me £370 for Pilot Sport 4's all round from black circles back in 2020. The 4WD R does not seem to eat through tyres but then perhaps I drive it too slowly haha. My Fiesta ST would eat through the fronts quite often so it is for sure a front wheel drive thing. As for the suspension issues weeping should normally be okay but if you can get them to change them all under warranty go for it and hopefully they will. The rear left suspension my thinking about the black line is perhaps the roads you are driving on are quite bouncy and it affected the left. It is not something I have seen before but worth again checking out to be safe. It does seem like a heavy cost month for your cupra but on the plus side once it is all sorted it should mean happier miles ahead with less of a cost to your wallet in the future. Nice one. Reason I ask is last June '22 on my MOT I got an advisory for front shock absorber nearside light misting of oil (2018 Leon Cupra ST 300 4drive with DCC).
      Just today I had this year's MOT and it failed on major oil leak for the same shock absorber...also it got an advisory for light misting on drivers side front.
      They rang me and advised both to be replaced at a cost of £1005.
      Car is on 33,950 miles, last year it was on 28,500.
      When asked what I wanted to do I mentioned that it still had the balance of manufacturers (extended) warranty (1 month left).
      The lady said oh, I'll take it upstairs and get back to you in 5 minutes...which she did...and to my surprise they are repairing it FOC.
      I say to my surprise because from what I had read online this is often refused under warranty, so in that regard I got lucky, but of course imo it's only fair, as it's unreasonable that shock absorbers should fail at such a low mileage.
      In my 20k of it's total almost 34k it has been driven extremely sympathetically, and not potholed either.

    Misting shocks is v common on the FR, just Google it, mines had advisories on the mot for the past 2 years.

      This is the Cupra though with the adaptive dampers. So more expensive to replace 🙈 I’m assuming the FR has standard shocks?

  • @hdmk213

    Just get the garage to do the rear tyres then swap the rear and front wheels around. Easy enough to do yourself with a jack.

    • @CarFocused
      @CarFocused  ปีที่แล้ว

      With 2mm being left on the fronts I’m not going to bother swapping them now, I’ll just get another pair of new tyres and get them on next month, probably just before it’s MOT…

    Would the used approved warranty cover the shocks/dampners though? I would have thought that was classed under wear and tear.
    I can picture SEAT trying to wiggle out of honouring the warranty and instead saying the shocks are weeping due to the roads blah blah blah...

    • @CarFocused
      @CarFocused  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d hope not as they sold me a car with weeping shocks, the MOT that the car came with has it stated on the advisory sheet. If they won’t sort it I’ll just sell it to Cazoo 😂

    The garage told you that you need the better tyres on the back???

    • @lwebb7
      @lwebb7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, it looks like you have spacers on the rear, is that correct?

    • @CarFocused
      @CarFocused  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ideally you are meant to run the better tyres on the rear of the car, and naturally this is what they were recommending. No spacers it’s totally standard.

    • @lwebb7
      @lwebb7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarFocused well it all depends which axle drives your car... in a cupra the better tyres need to be on the front as its FWD (I have one myself) I have PS4S on the front and F1s on the back. Strange about the spacers as it looks spaced... that line you are getting on the tyre is from the tyre rubbing on the plastic arch tab which would only happen if it's spaced. Does the other side rub at all?

    • @CarFocused
      @CarFocused  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lwebb7 quote - If you replace old tyres with new tyres and this does not apply to the whole set, there comes the question: Do you fit the new tyres at the front or back? Regardless of the drive type, we recommend not fitting the better tyres at the front, but always fitting them at the back. The reason is simple: The rear axle ensures the tracking stability of a vehicle.

    • @richardhurr31
      @richardhurr31 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lwebb7you're incorrect. Go look up "best tyres on front or rear" and you'll see that best tyres on a FWD car go on the rear. It's a common misconception that you put the newest/best tyres on the front, but understandable why people think that.

  • @philiphawkins4684
    @philiphawkins4684 ปีที่แล้ว

    Go on autodoc for brakes, and do it yourself. Tyre wise not much you can do but swap the front to rear yourself.

    • @CarFocused
      @CarFocused  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the fronts had more tread on I’d swap them over but I’m not really sure it’s worth it now thinking about it, so I’ll just chuck another set on so all four are new.
