Good on Barry for calling out the BS on the spoon. I suspect the reason why it tastes different is that he also used a metal spoon for the control. Different metals will make creamy foods have different tastes and textures (thanks to Stephen Fry on "QI" for that little tidbit), so it's no wonder that it will taste different than a plastic spoon. I think the explanation of the SpoonTEK scam going around is right, that it's the placebo effect because you know what they tell you it's supposed to do, and so it does. But Barry also mentions how heavy the spoon is at one end, meaning that the spoon is noticeably more weighty than a normal spoon, which is another thing that makes you think food tastes better. That is a researched phenomenon that has been exploited in the restaurant industry since Ben was small, so it's designed to trick you into thinking it work two ways, while being utter tripe that's just a spoon shaped plastic shell with an LED hole.
Weighted cutlery makes food taste better? That is so interesting; I have silverware that's heavier than normal because I like the feel but had no idea it was also improving my cooking!
Also, have people really kinda forgotten what plastic spoons do to food? I can distinctly remember how "rounded" a plastic spoon can make food taste and how a metal spoon (a cheap one) can make foods taste more...metallic/sour. Just try to imagine, right now, eating some cold yogurt, with a room temp plastic spoon vs a room temp metal spoon. You'd instantly have two slightly differing taste in mind, right?
I could literally hear Ben screaming, "Splits the Atom!?" The same way he objected to the Food Team using half a bottle of Akabanga oil in the 2nd Hot Poker Face video. 😆 🤣
i wish you hadnt told Barry what the spoon is meant to do, the placebo effect will always kick in once you know. id love to see you try it with someone who has no idea. Biologically an electric current touching your tongue does nothing, especially as smell plays a much bigger part of taste
Also they tasted it with a metal spoon versus the plastic "SpoonTEK". Of course you get a different taste experience from a metal spoon than a plastic spoon.
I would love for you to do a follow up video on the SpoonTek fully debunking it, with the help of a food scientist/engineer who can provide some actual science on why it might feel like it works. That would be really intetesting!
See, you guys didn't test the biggest problem with eating a burger in paper: what happens when you get down to the wrapper? How does the burger buddy experience hold up when you hit the plastic?
Exactly what I was wondering about. If you have to pick at it with your fingers to adjust the burger position, you'll end up messy and using napkins anyway, right?
The burger buddy has been used in new zealand for ages. Its a Burger Doofer, except they're made of card board normally so you get a disposable one with your takeaway burger.
That Finalpress is like three times the price of my aeropress and I really really doubt it'll make a similar quality brew. While also both being on the go-options.
thank goodness someone mentioned it not to mention the aeropress brews in similar if not faster time and has a much easier clean up and the quality is much better id reckon
Yeah, once you go Aeropress (for single servings) you never go back. It makes the cheapest coffee taste good and good coffee astonishing. I doubt a metal teabag will do the trick. Tea? Maybe. Coffee? GTFO
Lol, the “Burger Buddy” is actually called a “doofer”, they’ve been available in NZ and AU for years & years, made of cardboard and are free with burgers that you buy at Burger Fuel. They do work bloody well but are nothing new.
I think they mentioned that one point of the Burger Buddy is that it's reusable so it lessens the amount of wasted paper napkins. If "doofers" are made of cardboard, then isn't that just the same thing as a paper burger holder; use once, then toss. Or do people in NZ & AU wash their doofers so they can reuse them the next time they're eating burgers?
@@xientau9028 no we don’t wash them, we prefer to use the cardboard ones since they come from a sustainable, renewable resource that has far less impact on the environment during the manufacture process, logistics operations, storage etc, in general, a far smaller carbon footprint and are recyclable vs the heavy impact that silicon products have in the above in addition to the additional chemical byproducts that are also produced. This is without consideration of the additional packaging for the burger buddy will also have more impact.
Yeah they changed them a bit since covid deliveries. They are a box with a tearable section that leaves the roofer and reveals the burger. Bonus points for calling other people doofahs because the original paper doofah still got sauce on your fingers because the folds had gaps 😂
If the Spoontek spoon was actually plastic, i wish you guys had done your taste test with another plastic spoon instead of a metal one. I've found that some foods taste different on metal cutlery. It's normally not a huge thing but for example avocado can end up tasting really metallic if you're eating it with metal utensils.
I have really damaged hands. With a burger buddy I might actually be able to eat them again. This looks like a prime example of accessibility gear pretending to solve an able bodied problem to become economically viable (see the slanket). I’m buying one.
That's the thing though, the best products don't have to pretend. They can solve a range of problems for different people and become a broadly enjoyed product. Burger buddy is just an all around win.
I'm going to go with all the other channels that have reviewed and panned the burger holder. You need a specifically sized burger to take advantage of the thing greatly reducing its use. As well at some point you have to dig into the device to pull out the remaining burger which can lead to a mess. Finally it does nothing to stop any drips from the front/sides of the burger.
The burger buddy is incredibly useful for disabled people!! Seeing this product genuinely made me happy, because I have friends with hand mobility issues that could really use these
Does it help still with the second half of the burger? I'm sorry, but I am extremely skeptical. It just seems like you'd have to dump it out at the end and make an even bigger issue.
Only it already existed. And has existed for those people exactly for ages. Those silicon crescents have been on amazon before burger buddy started their campaign.
@@simmerke1111 but idiots will back anything on kickstarter even before checking to see if there is an alternative or an identical product for half the price. Expensive does not always mean good quality.
I wonder if Barry’s paying more attention to eating whilst using the super spoon or whatever it was called. And that’s why it’s tasting better, if you really focus on what your eating it can make things taste much better. Would be interesting to see if the food has the same effect if he takes as much time with a normal spoon.
A normal spoon is also not made of a quality plastic. Plastic cutlery can often make food taste worse because it’s normally cheap disposable tat, but similarly metal cutlery can impart an irony tang to certain foods. The difference he tasted in the yoghurt was almost definitely because he was using a light, cheap looking metal teaspoon vs a quality plastic spoon.
The burger buddy I see being really useful with not necessarily burgers but things in buns like pulled pork with bbq sauce and slaw because burgers you could get around mostly by cutting it in half unless it’s a bean burger or something else that doesn’t hold it’s shape well
BS on the LED spoon. Think of how the circuit would work. One contact on the back of the spoon you hold, one contact on the inside touching the food. In order for the circuit to close, the current would need to run through your body. Meaning they are using extremely low amperage and high voltage. They should have tested it vs a normal plastic spoon instead of a metal one. I'm guessing the flavor would have been the same. I'd like to see a blind taste test so placebo can't play a role in it. Unless there is something they didn't mention in the video, it smells of snake oil.
How it works, from their Kickstarter. "To accomplish this task, we use two electrodes (one on the handle and one in the spoon bowl), advanced circuitry, complex wiring between all connections, and a proprietary method for hermetically sealing in the electronics." They couldn't even come up with some bs pseudo science, so they just call everything advanced.
I have a coffee thing a bit like that except mine doesn't have the plunger thing. It cost about £12 from Lakeland and makes a decent cuppa coffee. I got it for work so I could have a single cup in the morning without having to mucky up a whole cafetiere or have loads of coffee left over. It works a treat and definitely more reasonably (and sensibly) priced than that one. Looks fancy though 🙂
Thing with that Burger Buddy is, only the first half of the burger is the not so messy part. Once you start fishing out the half that is stuck within the holder, you get right back into making the mess you wanted to avoid all along..
This bothered me so much! All the way through I nearly screamed at the screen: "But then what?!" So frustrating not being able to see how the F he was going to finish the burger...
Wouldn't the mess be even worse after the second half has been sitting in the mess from the first half - the mess isn't on your fingers, it's making the second half of the burger bun soggy
@@Steelmage99 Yeah sure, when you first get to the paper maybe. Then you fold the paper down and the last bite you just take out and drop in your mouth. You can't just fold down the Burger Buddy so you would have to take the Burger in your hand for more than just the last bite. So you wouldn't avoid the messiest part of eating a burger, especially,if, as another commenter pointed out, the Burger has been sitting in its sauce inside of the Burger Buddy.
@@mellalena I don't fold down more than once (while opening the burger in the beginning). Then I just rotate. One can even display a bit of that amazing human foresight and rotate the burger as you are taking that last accessible bite. It has worked for me for decades.
When the Chef is away, the Normals will play. It reminds me of the Christmas Carol video where there is major chaos in the absence of an “opinionated, bespectacled chef.”
I'm willing to bet the "Burger Buddy" (actually there's a similar gadget "tested" on epicurious) is not that "eco-friendly" as they claim. Even for a tote bag, you have to use it A WHOLE LOT to offset the costs of plastic bags it replaces. Pretty sure to be more eco-friendly than tissues, or the most eco-friendly of everything, hands, you'd have to use them their entire lifetime.
Eco stands for ECOLOGY, not economy. It doesn't have to cost less, it has to have lesser impact on the planet. Plastic bags are forever trash, while totes are nearly forever useful AND recyclable. So in this case you're trading single-use napkins (non-recyclable trash) for nearly indestructible item that will serve you for years.
Considering how many more situations someone can use a reusable bag than the Burger Buddy too. I'm not sure most people would use it enough to offset the cost. But for people with disabilities, I'm sure it could be a game changer.
@@Rillka Yeah but that “single use trash” is likely made from other recycled material and will decay away rather fast. Problem with the plastic lasting you a lifetime is likely you’ll throw it out after 5 years/when it gets damaged and now you have that indestructible plastic just sitting in a landfill
Tbh it’s interesting to see you guys try different gadgets and cook. I’m unfortunately VERY accident prone. When I was around 13-15, and helping my mom in the kitchen, I was using a mandolin when I accidentally cut of the top of my finger and rushed to the hospital (threw out the mandolin after that) Another accident was just heating up some pasta in the microwave, and when taking it out, sauce spilled onto my hand (where I still have the scar from getting burned) After those incidents I didn’t help in the kitchen as often as I used to. I’m now 21 and got into cooking during quarantine, granted I still stay away from any mandolin, but I think watching your videos, and other cooking channels has helped me to feel more confident in the kitchen.
I love the crowdfunding videos, they’ve made me more aware of the products we can find in the world, it’s made me realise the good products that I can support and I learn a lot from people’s stories. And you guys make it all the more entertaining! 😁
@@ell5830 Please don't. I'm one of the backers. They've ripped us off. Took our money and shipped our packages 2 months ago, which never arrived. The creators have been ignoring everyone on Kickstarter for weeks. Just buy an Aeropress or something similar instead.

My 80 year old Dad bloody loves his burgers, but after a heart attack, stroke and shattered shoulder he really struggles with the "burger experience". I'm getting a burger buddy right now! Thanks guys, I would never have found this without you. Also I typed this after a mandolin accident on Sunday... yeah you know what I did!
The "Spoon Tek" wasn't a fair test. It was pitted against a metal spoon. The metal utensil is going to give a slightly tangy taste vs a plastic one. The same principle as to why you never touch caviar with a metal utensil. James would have caught that.
But if a metal spoon does the trick why u need to pay £21 for the product? Just pay like £1 for a normal metal spoon or if ur feeling fancy you can get an antique silver spoon for a couple more quid lol
@@ELoveHo They’re not saying a metal spoon does the trick,in fact quite the opposite. Metal spoons tends to make food taste more metallic, i.e. sour, which is why the $30 plastic spoon tasted different and “less sour”
@@Kude1707 Still a bad test because it didn’t necessarily test if the electricity actually changed the taste (warranting its price tag) or if it was just because it was plastic (at which point you can go to the dollar store and buy a package of 50)
@@PieMan061 I see your point but i do think the test was fine since you arent going to be replacing a plastic utensil with it. You use a metal one normally and the test didnt have enough difference in taste to warrant the price. Now yes if we wanted to be more accurate then a plastic spoon should have been used this i will agree on but to me the test served its purpose. The spoon is naff and just a scam
I'd love to see a gadget episode where you all talk about the various gadgets that you've reviewed and liked, and we hear about which ones you actually use.
I was hoping to see Barry struggle with the burger buddy once he gets past the first half of the burger... I'm disappointed he didn't show the struggle if getting the last quarter out of the holder without getting his hands messy
I wanted to see this too, imagine having to turn that remaining crescent with your mouth to try to keep your hands clean but making your face messy instead lmao.
Yeah really. Saw someone else review that same gadget and the second half gave them more problems than they would have had using a napkin, or nothing at all.
I can see myself owning a burger buddy. One of my go to take away restaurants is a healthier burger joint what sells massive burgers with chutney, mayonnaise, tomato and beetroot on them, it can get quite messy.
Burger Buddy: Great for a static environment where you know it'll be handy. Realistically, you'd need to plan to buy a burger to use these while you're out. That notwithstanding, you'd need to consider cleaning it and carrying it before and after. Where I can see this working is those with mobility issues (I love you guys include these points regularly, I reckon it helps with awareness) and diners. Maybe a cornstarch or husk-based disposable version could be developed to make it broadly accessible. Final Press: Reinvents the wheel. You can get a compact Aeropress now, which are dead easy to use and clean and are practically bomb-proof. Then there's 2-3 serve French presses or moka pots. If that doesn't tickle your pickle, there's always whimsically shaped tea strainers (that don't have moving parts) which you can also, creatively, use for coffee. SpoonTEK: Interesting idea but Mike nails it; you're part of an experiment. Most likely one that involves the phrase "placebo effect" as it literally tells you that it should be working as opposed to you noticing it hasn't worked. Take something like the miracle berries, there's no denying when that works. Another giveaway is their fancy explanation, the phrasing seems somewhat suspect.
The spoon isn't even an experiment, it's straight-up a scam. The description of how it works is total gobbledygook fake science and it's definitely 100% placebo.
The burger thing is weird to me. Where I am from most to-go burger places wrap it in a manner you only unwrap half of it. Not perfect but not bad with a few napkins. If you know what you're doing, you'll be ok (from a guy with 2 thumbs that barely work of late due to arthritis - so I am the mobility audience :) Also what happens to the last third? Is that somehow not messy?
Please, for upcoming cooking battles, install a camera above Barrys hobs so we can see each time he leaves the hobs on 😂😂 The new kitchen round looks soooo great 👌🏻👌🏻
Saw the Burger Buddy on another show where the question was raised - what do you do when you're at the last third? Barry's burger (which should have gone halfsies with Mike, just sayin') was too big for him to encounter that problem.
It was on the Epicurious Well Equipped, right? Just seen that episode this morning... The difference is that the one reviewed here is made of soft silicon gel as opposed of hard plastic, meaning that you could just push the bottom.
@@Vokoca That's a good point... I guess that the fingerplay to push the last bites and keep them in place would be more of a hassle than have a few napkins at hand...
I saw this on Epicurious as well and even though this particular version seems much nicer than that one, I do think those same problems would apply. Although this one being soft and stretchy might make it better for people with mobility issues, I really liked the Epicurious conclusion that having a pita bread casing was much better all around.
For 62 pounds I can get myself nice Chemex, really. The main drawback of the last press (or whatever item was second) it gets really hot and you'd have to wait for it to cool down to unscrew it (if we're talking about being somewhere in field).
I genuinely thought it looked great for a cup of tea at home with quality loose leaf tea but not at $125 AUD, I Love the product but I would pay no more than $40 AUD (Australian) and it would have to be top quality stainless steel for that price.
I agree with Barry it's BS. "have been in the food industry since 1990" might just mean they have worked at mc donnalds or just any kitchen, it doesn't make them experts in food science. Also someone said they should have compared it with a plastic spoon, which I agree with, I might not be an food expert but I know that metal reacts with acidity
The simple fact of having to clean the grease out of the burger buddy is enough to dissuade me from using it. Look at all the grooves! I suppose the easiest way is to chuck it into the dishwasher, but you won't be able to use it again until you run the dishwasher. Not to mention, not everyone owns a dishwasher.
For the designers of the Burger Buddy tool, here's a suggestion: Please make the top part to have pockets for the fingers, so the you could use it like a tong to pick up/hold the burgers- which would make the whole process a lot hygienic.
They should do the spoon test again with two of those spoons, one of them with a dead battery, and with the person blindfolded so that they can't tell if the LED light is on or not
Always fun to watch you guys. Would love to see an ultimate nacho challenge! Nacho's are already delicious in a basic use, but can you go beyond all that we think we know about nacho's and still have an enjoyable product?
“It splits the atoms.” - Barry James Taylor, 2021. He’s my new chemistry teacher. Also, anything tasty should be referred to as ‘Atom Splitting’. Just a suggestion.
It feels like Mike and Barry just snuck into the studio on a closed day to film their own episode like a couple kids sneaking into school after hours and playing in the classroom. I'm okay with this.
"Ah mate, I wish I could go out to dinner, but I forgot to charge my spoon." Also, there's a chain I used to love in New Zealand called Burger Fuel who had folding paper burger buddies that they called a doofer. Genuinely quite excited to see someone has made a reusable version of that to have on the go.
The "Burger Buddy" is a silicon version of the "Hamburger Holder" marketed here in New Zealand by Burger Fuel as a "Doofer" It is made out of kraft board and provided in sizes to match the establishment, and was a finalist of the 2014 New Zealand Innovators Awards.
The burger buddy fits in a pocket, which is so useful at a fair when I stick the dirty BB back in my pocket. What a life saver, I'd hate to have something renewable and disposable like paper.
Just a fun thing for the first gadget, it’s also a sensory object. As in when I eat burgers that are messy it makes me anxious which makes me not want to eat it. If it was fully contained I could definitely eat more types of burgers. Love this idea. Like Barry said I can believe it hadn’t been invented before.
I saw the Burger Buddy tested by Dan the design expert in an Epicurious video. Dude had some really good points about the shortcomings of it (starting with the very good question of "what happens when you're halfway through") and pointed out you could just wrap a tortilla.
I never understood that guy's point in the Epicurious video lol. There's always room for professional improvement, but, like... just shift the burger a bit up to keep eating until it's a manageable bite to finish. The holder's acting like a convenient plate to hold dripping, which would break down a napkin. At least with the cup thing bits of paper won't stick to your food.
@@marblecake4010 The one tested by Epicurious was rigid - there was no way to shift the burger up, because you're not gripping the burger the way you are with the flexible silicone one. The only thing you can do is rotate the burger to expose more of it, but that only works for so long. Once you've eaten it down to the point that it's smaller than the depth of the holder in every direction, you have to fish it out to finish eating it. The flexibility of the Burger Buddy may have gotten around that problem. Or it may not have. We really needed to see Baz try to eat the 2nd half of that burger...
The burger buddy is pointless if they say the purpose to keep your hands clean, you will still need to touch the burger to adjust it when you eaten it to the last bits and you can't reach the burger that is inside the burger buddy. "Eco friendly" is pretty much just a marketing buzzword nowadays. How much more environmental impact will the production of one Burger Buddy have, compared to 2.5 napkins. Unless you are consistently using the burger buddy for, probably at least a few years, you won't offset the ecological impact.
Y'know, at first I was mildly upset that Jamie and Ben didn't show up for this video. Then, about 1/3 of the way through the first gadg review, I realized Mike and Barry are a delightful pairing. And, now I want a podcast called "The Weekenders" where Barry and Mike meet every Tuesday and discuss what they did on the weekend over coffee.
That burger buddy is something that should be sold in like...every burger place everywhere. It makes so much sense, and will save a LOVE of napkin use.
The burger buddy is way worse for the environment than napkins. Napkins are recyclable and biodegradable You can make 1000s and 1000s of napkins for the same amount of energy it would take to make 1 of those. Its nothing but a shallow marketing bit of silicon
Yeah when they claimed it was eco-friendly because it saved you from using 2-3 paper napkins, I knew that was BS. Completely forgoes the process to make it, the water/energy you use to clean it, and the fact that it’s still plastic that doesn’t biodegrade
The burger buddy may only be used for one type of food but a diverse food, beef, chicken, veggie, fish can all be burgers. I'd have to see if they hold up with lots of salad and sauce but it seems ingenious!

In terms of dexteriry issues I question it. But for others, you could just push the middle up (to turn it 'inside out.")
Yes! This is what I wanted to see tested too!
Exactly what I was wondering about. If you have to pick at it with your fingers to adjust the burger position, you'll end up messy and using napkins anyway, right?
You do the same thing with the Burger Buddy you do with a paper wrapper. Rotate the burger a bit (about a quarter), and keep eating.
I think once you get down to the plastic you could use one hand to pick it up while holding it over the burger buddy to catch drips.
Right, it's just more complicated, more expensive, and looks a lot less durable. Aeropress all day!
Yeah, once you go Aeropress (for single servings) you never go back. It makes the cheapest coffee taste good and good coffee astonishing. I doubt a metal teabag will do the trick. Tea? Maybe. Coffee? GTFO
@@mwartist Plus is looks like a cleaning nightmare.
my thoughts exactly!
Lol, the “Burger Buddy” is actually called a “doofer”, they’ve been available in NZ and AU for years & years, made of cardboard and are free with burgers that you buy at Burger Fuel. They do work bloody well but are nothing new.
Yeah, doofers have been a thing for ages. They are bloody great though.
Came here looking for this comment. I couldn't remember the name!
I sometimes eat a spoonful of honey but only off a wooden spoon since it tastes terribly tinny off metal.
true, the metal is a confounding variable i thought the same thing
I love it when these two just have fun. Super pleased that they were both cheering each other on.
I have really damaged hands. With a burger buddy I might actually be able to eat them again. This looks like a prime example of accessibility gear pretending to solve an able bodied problem to become economically viable (see the slanket). I’m buying one.
How do you eat it after you finish half of it?
That's the thing though, the best products don't have to pretend. They can solve a range of problems for different people and become a broadly enjoyed product. Burger buddy is just an all around win.
@@tumainitiger4655 Rotate the burger in the holder, as you would do with a paper wrapped one.
I noticed Mike found an alternate use already, too.
@@tumainitiger4655 tip your head back.
Seeing this product genuinely made me happy, because I have friends with hand mobility issues that could really use these
Didn't consider that angle. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for sharing that.
Does it help still with the second half of the burger? I'm sorry, but I am extremely skeptical. It just seems like you'd have to dump it out at the end and make an even bigger issue.
abyssmal_kismet you can just turn the burger sideways in the thing
@@fabe61 Also, the fact that is wasn't a blind tasting, and being told the spoon makes things taste better, brings the placebo effect into play.
Mike’s face when Barry didn’t make him a burger too 🤣
All the LOLS 😂
I've got the same feeling, spot on comment.
That was my thought as well. I think the difference is the spoon material itself.
How it works, from their Kickstarter.
"To accomplish this task, we use two electrodes (one on the handle and one in the spoon bowl), advanced circuitry, complex wiring between all connections, and a proprietary method for hermetically sealing in the electronics."
They couldn't even come up with some bs pseudo science, so they just call everything advanced.
We also know that different kinds of metal cutlery can make foods vary in taste and flavor.
I think the spoon should’ve been saved for Ben to test, honestly.
Guys, you do the same thing with a paper wrapped one - you rotate it a bit.
This is a controlled movement, that won't get you messy at all.
Feel like 'Burger Fuel' chain in NZ has had this kind burger gadget for a ~ decade... theirs is called the Doofer.
"It splits the atoms". Somehow I don't think the spoon is causing nuclear fission.
It's a placebo atom split, just like the rest of the product.
Should have gone plastic spoon vs iSpoon. Just for texture and consistency. Man I love you guys.
@@Rillka "costs" can be many things, not just money.
edit: remove negativity
Considering how many more situations someone can use a reusable bag than the Burger Buddy too. I'm not sure most people would use it enough to offset the cost. But for people with disabilities, I'm sure it could be a game changer.
@@Rillka Yeah but that “single use trash” is likely made from other recycled material and will decay away rather fast. Problem with the plastic lasting you a lifetime is likely you’ll throw it out after 5 years/when it gets damaged and now you have that indestructible plastic just sitting in a landfill
I am glad to see Barry being sceptical of the SpoonTEK
Tbh it’s interesting to see you guys try different gadgets and cook.
I’m unfortunately VERY accident prone. When I was around 13-15, and helping my mom in the kitchen, I was using a mandolin when I accidentally cut of the top of my finger and rushed to the hospital (threw out the mandolin after that)
Another accident was just heating up some pasta in the microwave, and when taking it out, sauce spilled onto my hand (where I still have the scar from getting burned)
After those incidents I didn’t help in the kitchen as often as I used to.

I'd like to see one of the others try that spoon without any context as to what it does. To see if Ben or Jamie can notice the difference
I believe the idea was to test it against a spoon you would normally use, which in most households is a metal one
Burger Buddy looks like it can have problems when you get halfway through eating
This is true... you've got to rotate that burger. Great for sipping the juices at the end too!
I wanted to see this too, imagine having to turn that remaining crescent with your mouth to try to keep your hands clean but making your face messy instead lmao.
i also was hoping they will show that too...
Yes! Like what's the point?
Half a review
Just giving credit where credit is due. Barry said that about the spoon.
If you know what you're doing, you'll be ok (from a guy with 2 thumbs that barely work of late due to arthritis - so I am the mobility audience :)
Also what happens to the last third? Is that somehow not messy?
One of the national burger chains in NZ gives you cardboard burger holders with your burger for this reason! They’re brilliant

@@DarkPascual Yup. That's the one. And true, but it still may get awkward towards the end
@@DarkPascual Wouldn't pushing the bottom just make everything spill out? What is even the point then?
@@Vokoca That's a good point... I guess that the fingerplay to push the last bites and keep them in place would be more of a hassle than have a few napkins at hand...
I saw this on Epicurious as well and even though this particular version seems much nicer than that one, I do think those same problems would apply. Although this one being soft and stretchy might make it better for people with mobility issues, I really liked the Epicurious conclusion that having a pita bread casing was much better all around.
Burger pocket "how has this not already been invented?". In Sweden we have burger pockets mad out of paper. They have existed for a while😅
For 62 pounds I can get myself nice Chemex, really. The main drawback of the last press (or whatever item was second) it gets really hot and you'd have to wait for it to cool down to unscrew it (if we're talking about being somewhere in field).
Or just get an aeropress/ aeropress go, for half the price
I genuinely thought it looked great for a cup of tea at home with quality loose leaf tea but not at $125 AUD, I Love the product but I would pay no more than $40 AUD (Australian) and it would have to be top quality stainless steel for that price.
Idk why but these Barry + Mike videos are always so funny and entetaining.

Love how Jamie and Ben are still with us in spirit.
Sees the Final Press, instantly looks to see if James Hoffmann has a review of it.
@@emlangan Good correction!! It was plastic and not flexible like this one. And I agree, more burgers!
In NZ we have disposable burger buddies that they give with most burgers at burger restuarants here (cardboard)
What I was thinking while watching the first one was that "I wonder how would Baz finish his burger with that."

Nice new digs! 3 cooktops and at least 2 ovens. Looking spiffy!
I was so sad for Mike, when he puts out the second burger buddy and Barry still did not share the burger with him.
Quite possibly my favorite duo on Sorted…so much chaos
The burger buddy is way worse for the environment than napkins.
Napkins are recyclable and biodegradable
You can make 1000s and 1000s of napkins for the same amount of energy it would take to make 1 of those.
“I’ve got to cook it” 😩 “ITS A COOKING SHOW” you tell him Mike!
The Burger Buddy looks similar to the cardboard "doofer" that an NZ chain, Burger Fuel, gives out with their burgers.
The burger buddy may only be used for one type of food but a diverse food, beef, chicken, veggie, fish can all be burgers.
