    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I'm sorry, we don't have a video because we don't usually recommend our patients to use regular floss if they're using the WaterPik properly - especially while the tissue is healing. However, if you do decide to use traditional floss, we suggest buying and using the Oral B "Super Floss" Pre-cut strands. They're thicker strands of floss that are sturdy on one end, allowing you to thread it between the gums and the bridge. Then it's just a matter of cleaning around with it, being sure to use it between each implant. Thanks for watching!

  • @FrankieBoy-wn6qt

    Hello really liked they way you explain things very clearly great video ..I just had 10 implants done in turkey I’ve paid 70% up front to them with the remainder to be paid when I get my bridges fitted …they don’t offer a lot of after care hence why I’m here listening to you that bridge you are displaying is that the industry standard bridge or the cleansable type the reason I ask is the standard type I’ve been told are impossible to clean because food gets trapped because it’s concave ……the latter is convex which if I’m correct curves outwards so it’s a lot easier to keep clean ..I asked my dentist about this and she said their patients prefer the concave type because it covers their gums better ,but I argued with her that surely convex should be preferred because better to keep clean ..I also asked them about bone petruding out of my lower gums which they didn’t want to give me an answer ..but I just heard you saying this is common thank you …🙏

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Frankie - glad to hear you got the procedure done! Happy healing to you 🙏 But yes - we prefer a slightly Convex Intaglio (top part of the bridge, or the part that touches the gums) due to the exact reason you explained: it's easier to blast out debris. However, if you follow the tips we're giving here like Waterpiking from the front AND the back using the Implant Denture tip, the results should be similar. And yes, small spicules of bone coming through the healing tissue is normal - no worries about that. Please keep us in the loop on your recovery!

    Thanks for your video. What about flossing?

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Sharon! For All-on-X treatments, we recommend just using the WaterPik - with no need to use traditional floss. At higher settings, the WaterPik is able to get in areas that floss typically misses - especially on these bridges. Not to mention, water flossing is much easier to blast in between those implants than regular floss. However, if you prefer traditional floss or your dentist recommends that you use regular floss, use the "puffy" floss called Super Floss and thread at the junction between each implant. Hope this helps!

    Amazing video! I have a (basic? Dumb?) question: when cleaning the gums, should I apply toothpaste to the toothbrush? Or would baking soda be better?

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Not a dumb question at all! Honestly - it's your preference when brushing the gums. As long as you're using Baking Soda paste on your actual temporary teeth, it shouldn't matter. Personally, I would like using a small amount of toothpaste on my tongue - so I get it. Again - the only reason for using the Baking Soda instead of toothpaste, is because toothpaste is really abrasive to the material of the temporary teeth. Thank you for watching, and hope this helps!

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Flossing with a Waterpik can be good for a traditional bridge! If you're unable to get underneath it with regular floss, using a WaterPik would be a great place to start to get underneath it. We even like Waterpiks for natural teeth. They just work. Thanks for watching!

      You no longer have natural teeth. Dentures like I am getting require a lot of care. They have to be cleaned and so does my mouth. Plaque build is bad for implants and dentures. The days of brushing and being done are over.

    • @MyNewSmileDental

    When can I start using philips sonicare electric toothbrush after all on4 surgery?

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! We honestly don't recommend that our patients use electric toothbrushes after having the All on 4 surgery - even after receiving their final teeth. The reason being that electric toothbrushes cause micro vibrations that can eventually loosen the screws that hold the teeth in place. If you have natural teeth that you would still like to use an electric toothbrush on - then by all means! But as for All on 4 arches, we suggest just sticking with the manual toothbrush.

    Hello.     • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello, Portuguese friend! That's a great question - and the answer is yes! Even when you're doing a great job of cleaning, the purpose of going to the dentist is less for cleaning and more to check in on the health of the implants and make sure everything looks good. You really only need to do a once-yearly cleaning or checkup on these, unless your dentist advises you to come more often. Thank you for watching, and Merry Christmas!

    Hi…i had my surgery like 2 1/2 months and noticed when cleaning with my dental floss by one of my implants sometimes it has some bleeding out only a little be and it hurts a little, is this normal? Thanks

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! If you're using regular dental floss, I would suggest maybe switching to a Waterpik - this will ensure you can get a deeper clean by blasting away some of the stubborn food that might get stuck. That food that's left behind is usually what's causing irritation, and may be causing that little bit of soreness and bleeding. I would make the switch, and if it continues, just be sure to bring it up at your next appointment!

    Doesn't food get stuck in there after chewing?

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can get stuck underneath! Pesky little smaller things like fruit seeds (strawberries, blackberries), popcorn, etc. can definitely get stuck, but it isn't an issue with regular Waterpik use. Food that's left underneath can cause irritation to the gums and a funky taste/smell - so working the Waterpik on a high setting into your hygiene routine solves that problem. Good question!

    can you use an electric toothbrush on these?

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! We don't recommend that our patients use an electric toothbrush on their bridges solely because the little vibrations can cause the screws to unscrew over time - leading to your teeth becoming loose and having to be retightened by the dentist.

  • @MyMyTyTy
    @MyMyTyTy ปีที่แล้ว

    Another dentist on TH-cam said you should not brush in between the natural gums and the prosthetic because it can recede your gums around the implant.

    • @MyNewSmileDental
      @MyNewSmileDental  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Mia. Ultimately - we agree! Similarly, Christine is telling us to gently brush right at that "joint" between the gums and the prosthetic, and follow that up with the Waterpik that will flush out everything underneath the prosthetic, in a more gentle way. Like the other dentist, we don't necessarily want the toothbrush to do the work underneath the prosthetic - we want the Waterpik to do that. Simply put - gently brush at the joint and use a Waterpik to do the work underneath.
