So do I. I come here to reassure myself that there are still refuges of sanity in this mad world. And lo and behold! There is at least this. I love it.
I love how a tiny backwater branch line in “Yorkshire “ can attract everything from antique NE locos to west coast main line diesels and everything in between! Total indulgence, keep it coming! 😁👍👍👍👍👊😁
Hi Lewis very busy indeed at Misselthwaite indeed .I never get tired of your videos Lewis and the effort you put into them to make them work and soo relaxing to watch ,well done and thank you Lewis.
Again another work of art ,.A little bit of shunting ,a nice tank with mk1 s in beautiful scenery ,with people & a bit of wild life .Looking forward to more of your hard work on such an enjoyable subject . Thanks again .
@@MouldyRaspberry Thanks very much for replying to my comment. That's the great part about the hobby sharing ideas and learning new ideas from other people to improve our Channel's so l have like and subscribe to your channel too .Stay safe DD.
One of the best videos yet. The opening shots looked like you were watching the real thing. Made you feel you were there. The camera work is excellent. Looking forward to the next one. Take care Jeff
Hi Lewis. Superb stuff yet again. I keep noticing new little details appearing adding more realism. Nice to see a bit of Great Western on the dales. Again great running session. Cheers Chris.
Hi Lewis, another very enjoyable video, it never ceases to amaze me how natural you layout is, from buildings to scenery and the odd bits a pieces that gives your layout that natural look. Regards Greg
Good evening Lewis, well her indoors is watching a recording of celebrity bake off, so I took myself to my headphones and Yorkshire. That was so relaxing, I love the look around the fields and seeing what animals are about and then to a bit of shunting that really was a busy day at misselthwaite. Its been a good look at both goods trains and passengers. Then I get interrupted by a poke, and being asked why are you sitting there smiling. I think that sums it up, thank you Lewis. Looking forward to the next story. Eddy xx
Back to the Yorkshire dales. A peaceful morning a little disturbed by a loco picking up a van for its train. Who cares its misselthwaite. Excellent video as usual. Lewis.
Brilliant videos. I have watched the synchronizing of sound with the piston/valve gear, perfect. I envy the creativity here well done and thank you for allowing us to live in miniature the "real" thing.
Great little nature intro. Curiously enough, from June 20-24, I will be in York. Maybe see some of what your layout is based on in the dales. Great video as always, Lewis! One of the best channels on YT.
Thanks Anthony, appreciate it! Very nice, will the railway museum there be on the cards, or will you try and get over to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a ride?
Hey hey hey it’s Mouldy Thursday Delight. Hello Lewis I love a bit of shunt on a Thursday Night I do!!!! Another great vlog with some as equally great camera angles there Lewis. Stay safe, keep sharing and model on. Regards Lee@NEAR
Omg! How long has there been a police box at the station?!!! 🙀 I thought it was SamsTrains for a minute. 🤣 Some great angles. Loving every minute. 😁👍👊😎
Superb once more. Engine 67722 did appear to have a wheel problem after running around the train. The wheel under the coal box appeared to stick. Love to watch this layout. It’s just fantastic in all ways and scenes and sound phases as well.
A second camera, documenting the contortions you must put yourself through to get some of those shots, would be most amusing. Those were some new camera angles, and the closest shots of locomotives I have seen! Even in extreme closeup your locomotive detailing and weathering passes the realism test. Well done, Lewis! Steve in New York State
The driver of 67722 Needs to watch the rear axel under the coal bunker as it looks like the bearing has seized and it may overheat on the return journey. Wouldn't want the passengers stuck in the tunnel ! - Excellent video, has so much atmosphere
Thanks Malcolm, appreciate it. Me neither! I was surprised that the L1 has pick ups on the bogie - I don’t think I’ve seen a loco with that set up before. That’s what seems to make that wheel stick.
Hi. Another great relaxing and enjoyable video. The angles and sound editing are superb. Great layout. Would love to see more of the class 4MT Tank in the videos. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you.
Aha ! The worlds longest freight train ? I counted 150 wagons before I realised I hadn't actually "clicked" on your programme, and was only hovering the cursor over the listing picture. But it was most impressive ! However I would say that your loco "61032" the ER B1 4-6-0 appears to exhibit a "tight spot" when starting. In other words as the driving wheels start rotating, they bind at the same position of each rotation. Which may imply one driving wheel on one side is somehow slightly out of "Quartering", or you simply haven't given it enough thrashing "running in" ! Keep the vids coming, they're most enjoyable, even if the freight wasn't 150 wagons long !
Wonderful job as always Lewis. You might want to take a look at the rear wheels on the L1, they are not turning , I noticed it several times, particularly around the 6:30 mark on the video. Cheers...Les.
Nice weather for a train ride. Good video. GWR content great Mr Mouldy. Awaiting delivery of NER Autocar (Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway) for my preserved railway. Ordered it Jan 2019! Due in around a week. Cheers John.
Thanks John, appreciate it. Wow that’s a crazy, at least it’s finally about to arrive. I think preordered a Hornby 2MT in 2019 and still no sign of that either.

Methinks I see what is happening here, Lewis. Maybe an idea I offered a little while ago coming to fruition? If so, I eagerly await the next two episodes... Great camera angles, as ever, my friend!
Hi Lewis, another enjoyable watch, thankyou. I was struck by the family likeness between the L1 and B1, the Thompson cab really standing out on both locos. So I am curious was the King on a special or do you now have a cross country service from the Western through to the Yorkshire Dales............Very interesting idea and pre Virgin trains "Xcountry". Anyway thanks again, and looking forward to next week. All the best Dave.
Thanks Dave. Hmmm good question. I guess the Kings didn’t travel too far because of their axle loading the gauging problems, but I’d like to think a King hauled cross country service was a possibility 😀
Thank you! I use iMovie to edit the videos - I extract the audio from video clips I’ve filmed of real locomotives and match it with the clips of the model.
Great Video Mate! Really enjoyed it, love your layout and loco roster. The king seems to suit the Yorkshire layout much like the southern pacific you have. I've also given you a follow on instagram. Keep up the excellent modling. Cheers, Joe
Another great video, Lewis! Thanks! But, I do wish you would give us a lesson on how you mix the real sounds, and so well, too! I also feel you're ready to get building again, but you don't have the space. Right?
Thanks Greg. I’ve been meaning to get round to that for ages. Yep I definitely am, but yep as you say, no more space. I might join a local club at some point though.
Great production values and a brilliant example of a railway set into a landscape (rather than a landscape built around a railway). Now if you could only be persuaded to relay the tracks to P4 standards...........
Thanks Roger. It does look significantly better I must say. I’m always surprised at what I difference it makes when I see EM/P4 layouts in magazines/TH-cam.
What can I say ? The perfect package. I only hope all people around have voted for the right parties . Was there a polling station in Misselthwaite ? Or had the voters to travel by train ?
As with the B1, the very rear axle of the bunker bogie is stationary, sliding over the track. A pity that the manufacturers of engines cannot ensure that the wheel details are to the same degree of realism as with the rest of the loco!
Nice, but please keep departure shots to the minimum of 1. You're forgetting two very important sounds: the Guard's whistle to let the footplate crew know the engine can move, and the engine's whistle of acknowledgement. Other than that, glad you included God's Wonderful Railway with the King class engine.
