    Greetings from Beverly Hills, CA, U.S.A. I have only seen the end results of Dreadlocks, & NEVER the process! Your technique appears to be a true protective style! I’ve subscribed today 2/8/22 to learn, and see if this style is for me. As an African American woman, whose worn braids on and off for years, I’ve seen the toll improper work/hair styles can and do permanently destroy hair follicles, leaving bald spots. So, thank you for your channel. Happy New Year 2022‼️ Be Blessed Because You Are! 💟☮️🙏🏽🙌🏽♥️♥️🙌🏽🙏🏽🌟

    This is a great method for starting permanent dreadloccs. Your hair will locc faster with the correct texture and structure. But I wouldn't dare do this method for faux lock, mainly because your hair would be damaged taking them down. Unless you grow them out to a length you desire and cut them out.
    When I got dreads years ago they used the twist method. I'm not a fan of the twist method mainly because my hair texture is more curly and didn't locc with proper structure and it took longer to locc. Once I found a REAL locctician she started using a loccs tool that gave me a better structure. Downfall about using the tool you can't really comb the dreads out if you decided to go back like you could with the twist method. I shaved my loccs off and started over. Shaving my hair off was the best decision I've ever made. I wasn't new to cutting my hair off so that wasn't new. Deciding to rock a fade gave me a new purpose on my healthy hair journey. It grew back stronger, longer and more healthier than its ever been. Before my loccs my hair was down my back, but after shaving my hair it was allowed to find its own identity to grow healthier and thicker. As a teenager I rocked a perm. Grew it out or so I thought wasn't really its true form because those chemicals were still attached to that hair if that makes sense.
    Let me stop rambling lol. I came here for one thing and told everything lmbo. Good luck you kings and Queens on your hair journey. May the comb be with you 😂🤣

    • @venuscacaobean7574
      @venuscacaobean7574 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The only part that is actually securing the loc is the fact that he interlocked it at the root. Otherwise if she wet her hair and ran her herbs through they’d slip right out. Essentially he’s using the crochet hook to create a braid. It’s not really like instant locking.

    Take it from me, even though these dreads are advertised as temporary locs, they actually make you lose hair when taking them out. The afro kinky extensions entangle with your actual hair as they get old and taking them out becomes hard, that you lose a lot of hair and it becomes thin. Highly don't recommend if like your afro thick.

    • @ivy7746
      @ivy7746 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From what I have seen people who do such locks are people who eventually want to start locs bt don't like the initial stages of starting with short dreads ,they never remove some just do retwist on the roots some may cut off the part with extensions if the part without the extension has reached the desired length but some don't coz it blends well especially if you have 4c hair matching the extension

    I don't care what anyone says that crochet needle + the interlocking method causes a lot of damage to the hair because it breaks the hair follicles. DON'T DO IT!!

      YOU ARE WRONG! I'm guessing you are not trained to knew anything on hair. He simply pulls clients hair (shaft, but follicles, which are in scalp) and wrapped it in the extention. Just like braiding, but using a hook... he's not using the instalock method, which is when the hook is used in and out repetitively to break and hair and extensions together. This is what I would relate to a modified plait.

      You are very wrong. I am a Cosmetologist and this is the healthiest way to tighten your hair. Also I locked my husband hair 4 years ago using only this method from day one and his hair is down his back healthy. Twisting the hair is the worst way to lock hair up. You are wrongly informed and have horrible examples. And he is correct the triangle or diamond shape is best when locking hair.

    I seems like taking it out would severely damage it. I saw the way you took your locs down and it made me cringe because I wouldn’t have any hair left😥 BUT this is EXCELLENT for Permanente locs when using the latch method on the natural hair.

    Please people stop saying dred locks this was a name tacked on to loc’s by Europeans when they started to rename and cancel out the indigenous (blks) people naming of their hair that naturally loc’s. The European couldn’t own it soo they defamed the hair style which was a part of a religious perspective that meant you wore the hair the way Yahweh had it to grow out from the scalp. The root of the hair naturally loc’s to say the word dred means awful 😢 soo people of African descent stop letting other people (euros) define us. The word is self defining and insulting it’s LOC’S. Respect the purpose and yourself stop the assault on yourself by repeating negative words created by your haters. Stay woke.👊🏽👍🏽🙏🏽 Yah be praised never use the word dred and teach the others.

    I've been doing dreadlocks for 14 years..the tension on the roots, will cause lack of blood circulation, for every strand of hair have a blood vessel supply..meaning the client will have massive hair lost..crocheting the client natural hair between that kinky twist extension hair using bees wax as the end product, will cause built up and knots..i just don't see anyways the client natural hair will be protected after undergoing all of the above..the end result looks good..but I'm very sorry for the client. Just my honest opinion..some may beg to differ..
