This is good stuff. I really wanted to support amd but an rtx 4080 s came up at a very similar price during eofy sales and bearing in mind the additional nvidia features and lower power draw, nvidia becomes a no brainer because it costs less to game because of the high electricity prices in Australia. 😢
I’m not sure on the pulse model, if it has 3x8 pin or not. But stock my nitro+ uses around 405w maxed out in games. With adjusting the power slider in adrenaline I can see as high as 460w. Would be interesting to see the performance difference between 40ish watts.
The Pulse does have 3 pins, but the stock configuration maxes out at 360w and the cooler is kind of weak. With a +15% PL it gets up to 415w but it’s HOT 🥵
@@PuffinTechYT that’s interesting! My card is now watercooled, so less of a worry I suppose. But with the CHONKY cooler it never had an issue. Either way keep up the good work, I’m glad I found your channel!
I do prefer native resolution over upscaling technologies to work with ray tracing, it's cool yeah but not worth the big performance hit be it on AMD or Nvidia I'd rather have a native image that looks sharper with less latency which is a big problem I see a lot when discussing DLSS or FSR along with Frame Gen and Ray Reconstruction it takes so much out of it. Also personally for that reason I'd rather go with AMD as they tend to have much better native performance thanks to higher vram and are priced much better overall for value too.
Yeah I personally think it’s a great way to play, and fortunately on PC we’re able to cater the experience to what works best for us. 4k native at high setting is just as valid as DLSS performance with a bunch of RT. Heck, earlier tonight I was playing Alan Wake 2 at 1080p integer scaled to 4k on an RX 6700 and was having a blast 😁
I’ve been having a ton of fun with the 7900 XTX and think it’s a great card. I also like that AMD tech makes me think differently about graphics than Nvidia.
@@PuffinTechYT great to know that, my rx 6800 has been rocking so far at 1440p, my next upgrade in one or two years will either be 7900xtx or next gen 8800xt.
Yeah it’s a tough sell based on the price and how much you care about those features. I will do another video about ray tracing and upscaling on this card though, it should have enough raw power to brute force it’s way through some ray tracing with FSR
ye amd have way worse rt i agree but tbh in most cases its not worth it, cb 2077, metro exodus and dl 2 are games that are worth it if u have good pc and almost forgot, alan wake 2

I have a 7800X3D & 7900xtx and get 80fps in hd2 4k ultra
Edit: more now since amd updated their drivers.

Thanks, I appreciate it! The nitro+ has an awesome cooler in its stock config too

Still... it`s a fantastic card, if i had nealy 1000$ to spend it's a no brainer to me.. RT is not a mature tech just yet..

@@silvio351 I'm a big believer in the 6800, I have a video here on my channel about it :D
Why FPS On Helldriver2 more than may 3080 12GB+i5 13500 5-10 fps !!!
So AMD works great if you run it in "feature free" mode (i.e. no raytracing). Hard pass.
