Dude Yui Ishikawa is one of my absolute favourite VAs ever. Her voice in Violet Evergarden was when I really started to take a interest in her VA skills and now she's literally everywhere. From AOT,Violet Evrrgarden to games such as Nikke, PGR and Nier, she's really talented!

Mikasa is by far my favourite fictional character. And Yui is such a big part of what brings that character to life for me. For a character who's fairly quiet and focused, she does a lot to show her emotion.

As someone who is really insecure of their voice it warms my heart to know that her work has been so well received. I loved Ishikawa’s voice as Mikasa. Especially when she is screaming while charging into a fight, you get a sense of frailty that goes so well with her character. And that rooftop scene 😩 you really feel like she doesn’t want to be violent but will do so out of love for her friends. She nailed it perfectly and I’m so proud of her.
She has this amazing, easy to recognize, and memorable/unforgettable voice AND this outworldly beauty... Can't help feeling so in love with her and her work. Thanks for this video! It was amazing to know more about her story.
Yui's voice is the most recognizable to me. One day my brother was playing a game in his room and I heard Yui's voice. My first thoughts were that he is watching scenes from AoT, but I realized that weren't the lines from anime. It made me playing that game which was Nier Automata and that is how I discovered that masterpiece of a game.

Even though I am not japanese so I don't speak japanese but still I started learning japanese a couple of months back and someday may be I will be able to listen to her VA in AOT with more delicacy and emotions without subtitles :) Big fan of your work !!

Not to detract from our appreciation of her, but voice actors needing to work part time (or even full time) jobs in unrelated industries is super common, even highly demanded actors will still need to hustle to make ends meet. In fact I’d be more shocked to find a VA who only works as a VA
Well, big leagues like Yuki, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka now definitely don't need to work as anything other than seiyuus and singers and I am sure that they also created their own businesses to secure their future in case they stop getting work or they decide to retire from VA industry.

I recall that Nasu of Type Moon wanted her to voice Morgan le Fae after listening to her role as female Hakuno in Fate/Extra Last Encore. I’m starting to think Yui is going to be great if even authors ask her to voice a character of their works.
I'll suggest everyone to give Fate Grand Order Lostbelt 6 Dramalogue a try. There, she play Morgan Le Fay, from an alternate history, where the Arthurian character is ruling the world. She manages to hit all the right notes and bring humanity to Morgan.
My favorite character that is played by her is Morgan le Fay from Fate/Grand Order. If you have ony content about this role I would love to see in a video.
Honestly, I don't understand how people think Ishikawa's voice is "generic". Maybe it is hearing her speak normally for a long time might give you a false impression or something because her voice while being remarkably "Japanese", has such a deep resonance to it that her characters always stand out if given a chance. My two favorite Female Seiyuu are Mai Nakahara and Inori Minase and neither of them have such resonance when they perform.
@@Yiman I heard the man only eats bean sprouts for months during his early days, man even think twice before buying some bread. During night time, he only uses candles to memorize the script just so he could save some money.
I only ever heard her as 2B, Mikasa and more recently in Undead Unluck. (Incredibly small role) She has an OK voice, it’s a shame her other projects look like to be such uninteresting animes.
