Kaji already talked about how, because of COVID restrictions, they can only come to the studio in small groups for recording sessions and there can't be a lot of people in the same room or recording booth. In this case it was more likely a combination of COVID restrictions and Kaji's schedule, though. He's in like 20 recording sessions a week sometimes.

He said along the lines that "manga isn't ended yet, there is still 1 chapter left, and to say that things are like the way it seems, feels off to me". So even he had a hunch that Eren is probably putting this facade ever since timeskip, and this is not how he really is, or feels. He sort of predicted here that it's early to make judgement on Eren's character after timeskip when the story is not finished yet, and it indeed become true. Eren internally had always been this unsure tragic character who cared very much about Mikasa and his friends. It's great to see that even the Voice actors are able to understand and predict certain things in the manga, which became true, cause they themselves were able to relate to them at least a bit, after voicing after them for all these years
@Matteo Tejo the ending was mostly logical, with some pacing issues. But overall it wrapped up the story well with close to almost no plot holes. And as for Yuki Kaji, I'm sure he tweeted because he liked the ending. Cause the ending is in no way dumb as much as your comment is.

Kaji-san genuinely feels sorry for what Eren did to Mikasa, you can hear it in his voice. Ishikawa-san is so invested in Mikasa's character and her feelings for Eren and Marina-san, just like Armin, is fully aware of both their feelings and struggles and is trying to support them through it. It's amazing how in character they all are

All the characters adult voice is so perfectly well dubbed. It's great to hear the voice of these three specially from being a kid to adult. Not to forget that table scene where Eren's voice is so empty and cold but yet feels hurt.

I think it’s pretty obvious if the audience understands about Eren’s goal well without even reading manga. But as a manga reader, the final chapter is really a final nail to the coffin, confirming why he did what he did.
