  • This song is a collection of observations I made as my family cared for a neighbor in his final weeks of life. He had lost his wife the year before and he would drop by often with ice cream cones for my kids. He really enjoyed seeing them grow and Analyn would always send food with him because we could tell he was not eating right. We would take food to him once in a while but still he was not really wanting to go on. He wrecked his truck and was in the hospital and they called us to come get him so in the middle of a rainstorm while I was on stage Analyn went down and picked him up. He did not want to go to the nursing home in Pal Mar and had no family or other friends to care for him. I spent a lot of nights sitting by the bed worried he would need to go to the bathroom or get out of bed for some reason. He loved Bob Dylan, the Stones, and CCR and had a lot of music so I set up an old cd player and played the music we both loved all night long every night. Analyn and the kids kept an eye on him during the day. He was only a few years older than I but he was a heavy smoker all his life as was his wife. I hope we made is last days on earth more tolerable.

I think you're getting the hang of this video creationing stuff - a very beautiful tribute to your friend and neighbor. As it turns out, I saw this one just as I was getting ready to leave for my 60th high school class reunion picnic - Yikes! There were 58 of us in the class and 13 have now passed on. It will be a bitter/sweet day, but one I hope to have many more of moving forward. Thank you so much for all the wonderful music you share with the world. You're a rare treasure.

Thank you for the kind words. I believe we just had our 56th but I have not been to one in many years. Its a long trip! We only had 24 graduates I think and we have lost 7 or 8 already. I hope you guys have a good reunion and enjoy the day. Please feel free to share the video with your friends if you like. Thanks again for your time.
