Wow, very similar to my experience . I had the symptoms of tiredness and breathlessness From a random blood test for skin treatment, the hospital contacted and told me to go to A&E. I stayed over night and in the morning a group of consultants gathered around my bed to break the news to me I have AML. I consider myself very fortunate that It was detected. It's Quite scary how the symptoms can be overlooked. Please, how is Tom now?
That is not how it is diagnosed. My sister had AML and after laying in a hospital bed for 2 weeks they finally did a bone marrow test. She died a few weeks later. It was awful.
@@sampatk4948 She was at a local hospital. They said she was anemic. Finally, after 2 weeks they did a bone marrow test which showed cancer. We finally got her to OHSU in Oregon, but she didn't respond to the treatment. She was 67 and most people with AML don't recover. Thank you for your concern.
@Sampat i currently have aml and they did bone marrow for me multiple times. It's not super painful, but it does hurt a bit. The first time I was sedated and all other times I'm awake. They numb the area and wait a bit and then start digging/poking into the bone to get samples. It would be harder with an older patient since the position is rough, even for me and I'm 30. My diagnosis was similar, but started off strange. I went to the er 3 times before i was sent to a hospital stay. I had covid on my first visit. After covid is when my symptoms got worse. My heart was racing and i was tired. Second er first they said my blood was low and i had gastrointestinal bleeding. Gave me blood and sent me home. Followed with my doctor and noticed massive migraines. Went back in, same thing, low blood but noticed it was off. Was given blood and sent to a new hospital and waited a few days there and got a bone marrow biopsy. That's when they told me it might be aml and sent me to another hospital. I was there for 40 days and about to return for transplant. Basically everyone is different, but that case shouldn't have happened. My doctors went full in and ready...other than the first hospital.

I know I'm pretty randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Cash Ali I use Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)

May I know how old was she?How long did she survive after diagnose?
@@nsardarshafi839 She was 67. I know they say survival after 60 is slim. It was just so quick. She lasted 3 weeks.
Did they not figure it out through blood test ? Why bone marrow ,as it would be painful for that age..sorry for your loss
