Good video 👍🏽 this is a very underrated topic with beardies ppl don’t talk about enough
Thank you! Hopefully it helps a lot of people
Great video very great information on beardies i feed greens and veggies early then later on if they didnt eat it ill leave it n no bugs next day its usually gone then ill feed some bugs my one female will hold out 3-4 days till she miserably eats her greens then she can have some bugs 😂
I'm doing the same thing with great results.
I’m a bad mawmaws! I am a panic & I buckle! But I’m so grateful for this video! We start at dawn!
We start at dawn! 😂😂
Hello from Ohio...new subscriber here. Lots of great videos and advice on bearded dragons. Thank you for all the hard work.
Funny but true. Send your kid to bed one night they refuse food over candy. They will like veggies for breakfast. 😅
Very true, I often find beardie prefer weeds and flowers to the shop bought veg , also worth mentioning some Beardies will eat still the occasional bug despite being sick and/or poor husbandry but obviously a healthy beardie can be super stubborn. Glad ours enjoy fresh food and only get insects once weekly
Great informative video! Are you able to do a video for adult frill neck dragons, please? How often do you recommend feeding them, list of what to feed as a staple / occasionally, your thoughts on offering them vegetatio? along with any other useful tips you possess, please 🙏🙏
Hello, my bearded dragon was supposedly 4 months when I got her and that was 4 months ago. She weighs about 130 gms. I giver her about 8-9 crickets or roaches every other day after she has her veggies. She is a princess though and will only eat veggies when coaxed and by hand. Do you recommend this method of holding off bugs until she will eat out of a bowl? Is she too young? Also as far as greens go, she will only eat dandelion greens. She really prefers pumpkin, Green peppers, asparagus and butternut squash.
What is the maximum time you think it would take for them to buckle? If they're decently overweight
Not me I can wait you’ll get hungry eventually and when u do open that mouth you gonna be so happy that you’ll eat every green I put into that mouth! My dragon takes long to eat when he sorta full I don’t have time to be playing he wants the food but wants me to bring it to his mouth !!!,ummmm no. Although I did have one that was super stubborn and he never ate again
So he died I even tried given in an giving bugs he didn’t want them and refused to eat so he starved himself or something idk but he was sick also from another dragon
Hi I’m a new subscriber! I’ve got a 3 month old male who’s not wanting to eat his greens. I’ve had him a couple days now. He was eating greens in the reptile shop but since I’ve had him he hasn’t touched them but loves his bugs! How long can I leave a baby to starve before I give in and give him bugs? Thanks!
He won’t starve if you present veg everyday
I get worried about them being dehydrated if they're not eating. My beardie is a bit over 1 year old and had parasites that he was treated for around 7-9 months and the medicines tanked his appetite. He finally has an appetite again, but mostly for bugs. He used to eat greens really well, but now it's a struggle to get him to eat. He doesn't drink from his water bowl.
You can drip water on their nose and spray the enclosure so there’s drops to lick up
@@ReptilesandResearch oh, ok, I've done that before, but then got scared to when people on various bearded dragon care pages insist not to do that (I think their reasoning was that it would give them respiratory infections). It's really dry where I am right now and I'm having trouble getting the humidity up to 30%. It's been hovering mostly around 20%.
At what age / weight would be considered an adult?
Currently my Beardie is 170g, 15" snout to tail and roughly 6 months old. As per your interview with Beardie Vet, I've been feeding him about 5 bugs a day and always have a salad bowl replaced daily. I do want him to eat more greens eventually but he's definitely being stubborn and holding out for bugs.
Would you suggest I start doing this now? Or does he still need some time to grow.
Thanks in advance!
6 months old isn't an adult, IMO
Today is the 4th day I'm not giving roaches for my baby dragon and putting vegetables every day, other a couple bites he didn't eat nothing yet. Not sure how long I should do it...
Did he ever end up eating the greens?
@@Taytay2201 yes, he did.
