Love your contents. Great job team...I wanna correct something here. First thing, there is lot of difference between 'GB' and 'Gb' thunderbolt can transfer upto 40Gbps, which is equal to 5GB. This is apply for other USB versions too. By the by, thunderbolt is not an open source. Its owned apple-intel. Others can't use this technology.
