OP, your attention to detail is what makes your work so outstanding. My God, the mania for these old fastback mustangs is something! Watching your posts on youtube is making me want another 1973 Mach I like I owned many years ago. LIke I don't already have enough with my 1965 coupe, my 2007 and my white 2014 models. Funny, I never liked white cars until I got the 2014 one. You have a good eye for the angles on the replacement panels.
What a great job you have done. It is obvious that you are a perfectionist and your customer should be very pleased with the finished product. Cheers Ian Langley New Zealand. A 1966 notch back owner.
Great Job & one of my obsessions on doing body work. Been doing it since the middle 70's and currently doing a 66 Mustang. Lots can be learned from your videos for the new folks.
Looks Great ! From what she was to how she is. What an amazing resurrection ! She will probably live on for many years now. Thanks to you ! Thumbs Up !
I've been watching your videos for a long time. You are a very talented craftsman. Your cars are better than when they came from the factory. Keep on doing the good work.
Looking great, I have to tell you that I not only enjoy your work but I have learned a great deal. Thank you for that, I just would like to request if you could put a video together of the tools you use and how you clean undercoating, seam sealer and plains rust of a project car. I find it amazing to see you show it all done, but always wonder how you got there. I'd very much appreciate it whenever you have the time.
You Sir. Make Resto Look Easy. ...Your Approuch Is Spot On. ..Always Love The Movie BULLlT I'm From That era....B. Body s. FASTBACKS.. can't. GET. Any. Bettet
Just wondering about the gaps. You made them even, but what happens to the gaps after you put in the windows and the regulators in the doors? Doesn't the weight shift the gaps?
Always awesome! Appreciate how you show the work in real time and point out the highlights. Much goes into making these cars better than new and your videos shed a load of light onto the process 🔥👍🏼🔥
Soooo.... I've been doing Mustangs for over 30 years and I can confirm that from the factory, the gaps were not as good as you make them! My 68 GT fastback sure does not fit that good and it is all original sheet metal!! Awesome work! Love this channel!
Hey man, do you have any plans on doing a 67 GT 500 build? I'm thinking about getting the full body from CJ Pony and turning it into one. I would love to see what it takes to make that happen.
Really nice vids! I also built a shell and get only slightly frustrated by how fast you go in comparison with the length of time it took me! Very impressed. If I could make one request/comment - any chance you can change your music genre? I literally hit mute every time your vids cut to your "happy techno" music. ;-)
curious about your platform the vehicle is setup on, under jack stands. i apologize if you have discussed it before i will search through your videos. if you haven’t i would like to hear more about it. is it basically a hand made surface plate to have perfect horizontal plane for reference and how did you build it. great videos love the detail fairly new to your channel and really look forward to your videos.
I have a question but don’t know if you’ll answer it but here we go; I’m in the collision repair business so I’m able to handle the job. How much time is involved and how difficult is it to convert a 67 coupe to fastback? Very little rust if any in the rear of the coupe. Thanks
Hi again , so you can buy almost a complete car in panels from unicorn ? From 66 up till ? That must make your job a bunch easier , as you say they are well made / stamped ! Does anyone else stamp Mustang panels , of any quality ..? Cheers
I think there are a lot of opinions on this. I like Dynacorn for the best fit, but are a little more expensive. spectra (Canadian) parts are generously over stamped. Taiwan parts are thin. I buy from NPD, but that’s primarily since I live 10 minutes away and drive by it 2x day. I really like CJPony parts for their service. Hope this helps and good luck! Gary
Really like your videos but I would like to see some problems you encounter and how you solve them. You mentioned you fixed the trunk lid which wouldnt shut but didnt say or show how you fixed it. I'm sure others would like to know how you problem solve...
Some time if your interested......There is another guy that does body work on old Dodge Chargers. He would be your Evil Step bodyman. His working conditions are 180 degrees from the way you work. He cares about the final product almost as much as you do. Junkerup #chrisbirdsong is the name of his place on TH-cam.
Got that right, I love my 18 Shelby 350, but yes the panel gaps in it are a bit off in places. Then again it’s not a Porsche (I’ve had two of them) and it costs half as much. But I wish Ford would set up apprentice programs for metal workers and not just assemblers to learn how to do things like this.
This has to be the best channel on TH-cam....
Here you see the difference between the craftsman and a master craftsman. Another job well done! 👍
Would love to see a video series of one of your full restorations, from pulling it into the shop to completed paint.

Likely better than factory gaps, just started watching these, love what you’re doing!
Nice work Bud!

Great video as always. I was wondering if you did gaps and now I know. Great explanations. Gary

Your attention to detail is awesome! I wish I lived near you.
The panels may have been manufactured by Dynacorn, but your work deserves custom door sill plates stating ‘Body by Peterson’
I’ll second this!!! 🔥👍🏼🔥
68 mustang my favorite car
Another fine Mustang 🐎 lucky Guy who purchased this one.

Hat off for that beautiful job!

Nice gaps!!!
My dream car
as always very detailed and professional work ..
Hey job well done thanks 👍🇺🇸
How does the title work on cars like this? Can you still title it as the original 68 despite having replaced most of the panels?
I was wondering what the Gap measurements are if they can take some nice deep coats of paint and some coats of clear

Nice work man... perfect!
Great work once again! Do you do work with clients that send you over their rusty mustang shells? If so, how much? Thanks in advance!
🙏👌👏👍 from 🇮🇳
awesome work.. you didn't used to work at CJ Pony huh?
About 6 years yes
@@petersonrestorations thought that was you in the old video i watched. small world.
@@petersonrestorations no can hear you..no audio...
Ok..only one ear working on my headphones..my bad
Love the content! Do have any recommendations for a aftermarket radiator core support with the best fitment?
I'm sorry I forgot to mention a core support for a 1969 mustang

found it, great stuff thank you!

It shouldn't be too bad but I've never done a conversion. I've always turned down doing that job.
any new updates

Yes others do but these are the only ones I use
I use Dynacorn when I don’t want to modify the panel. If I just need to cut a section out I usually use the cheap Taiwan stuff.
Are you using the dynacorn trunk lid or golden legion?
Dynacorn
@@petersonrestorations Ok perfect, the last one I ordered back in 2013 didn't have any of the trim holes now I see they do which is good.
have you thought about building a jig?
I am just beginning work on my 1964.5 coupe and I need some body panels. With so many choices available, I was wondering if you have a preference?

I sent you an email about a 67 Elenor
They didn’t fit that good when new
Yep

@@robertsole9970 Have you ever seen Tesla panel gaps? They are horrendous!
In this video I see you spot welding without a helmet. What gives? Are you shutting your eyes?
Yes I close to do tacks
NEVER fit that good from Ford
